  1. couldn't you use this time to putt and chip? I would think getting those swing refined will help your game tremendously!

  3. Any of the Mizuno cut muscle clubs.
  4. Well it was great to see Honda crap the bed after having a car that would have finished well into the points. They are cursed i'm convinced.
  5. It's a swing issue for me not a equipment issue. I switched from Nike OSS and these clubs I hit much better. Again it's not my ball striking ABILITY it's my mental conundrums that get me.
  6. Ok. I have the swing to be a player that shoots in the mid 80's to low 90's. But I've only broken 100 once. However apparently I don't have the mental game to go along with it. Yesterday I was playing Grand National in Alabama. One of the RTJ courses. I started off the first 3 holes pretty decent. going bogey bogey bogey (Mixing in a sand save in there sweet!). 4th hole I put two balls in the water and I was done. Never does the course beat me. It's all mental for me. Inconsistent swings/shots kill me. I'll have a beautiful 280 yard drive but then pull/slice my second into woods/water/a fairway 3 holes over. Problem is I can't get out of my own way and I need some of idea's of what you guys do that gets your mind back on track when your round takes a turn for the worse? I'm willing to try just about anything.
  7. To the OP. Memphis is a talented team but not built to go all the way in the big dance.
  8. I have to admit i did miss the interview. Was speaking more towards when the shot actually happened.
  9. damn i guess i could have searched spin.
  10. Johnny Miller only said what kind of follow through was that. It looked as if Tiger forgot to follow through. But then when they replayed it on the BizHub he did realize he was probably trying to work the ball. He merely mentioned that it did not look like a normal Tiger follow through WHICH IT DIDN'T. Heck you could even here Tiger laughing as he watched the ball. Johnny tells it as he see's it. Big deal. I like him and we need more like him.
  11. is it really cheating if there is nothing at stake? Are you possibly taking someone else's game too seriously if it's just a round of non competitive golf? I don't follow the rules to the tee everytime either. But i don't keep my handicap.
  12. so what is the proper technique. When I say i play a myriad of balls it means i've tried everything from a Pro V1 to the Nike One Platinum. Although I haven't tried the higher spin balls since i've really refined my swing. I shall try that.
  13. oh and what part of Alabama are you in? I'll be over there on thursday in the Auburn area and plan on playing Grand National while I'm there.
  14. hmmm i never thought about the green conditions. They are typically pretty hard here. I play a myriad of balls.
  15. Ok. I can not for the life of me produce any back spin with any of my irons. I'm not looking to make the ball draw back or anything. But what I would like is for the ball to actually check up when I'm pitching/chipping. I feel like I put a pretty good downward strike on the ball but nothing. What am I missing? Clubs are Mizuno MP-32's with Nike SV wedges.
  16. As I've stated in a couple of threads I play from the whites because I believe until you can constistanly breaking 100 that is where you should play. once you can break 90's constantly i think that's when you move back from the blues etc...

    Finally!!!!!

I agree. But it's more of a personal challenge for myself. To see if I could actually do it you know?
  18. As many instructors say. Big muscles lead the smaller muscles. So you must start your turn with your hips but don't let them out race your arms. It should be one fluid motion. Your hip turn should start just before your arms complete the back swing to create the maximum torque.

    Finally!!!!!

one thing that helped me get out of my own head was not totalling my score on the front 9. I knew I had a decent round going but didn't know how good until the end. It helped me tremendously.

    Finally!!!!!

After 2 years of struggle. Refusing to take lessons because I feel as though I'm athletically inclined enough to figure the golf swing out. Going through literally dozens of swing changes. Reading hundreds of swing theories. I finally did it. I broke 100 with a very solid 92 at The Frog. A Tom Fazio designed course. I took no mulligans. Played from the whites because that's where hackers should play from until they can consistently break 100 I believe. Now playing from the whites the course is under 6000 yards. I 3 putted 7 holes. 6 of which I missed my second putt from within 6 feet so it could have been a Legit 86. I bombed the ball off of the tee on all but 3 of the driving holes leaving myself short wedge shots onto the green. Obviously I had a little luck also several shots rolling right up to the bunker but not going in etc... But now the real test is will I be able to replicate on my next round. Here is the web site of the course I played. http://www.golfthefrog.com/
  22. I don't understand why everyone thinks the proplay gps will slow the round down? I will assume most of us stand behind the ball to get our aim correct. So that's when you set the camera down. then take your shot. pick up the camera and go to your cart. what's that like 10 extra seconds a shot? I doubt most people would use it for every shot. I personally would only use it for my drives/long iron shots. Just my very humble opinon.

    Formula 1?

Honda Fan all the way. So I like Button/Barrichello/Davidson/Sato. And even though I don't like the Ferrari team I'm a big Kimi fan.
