    Formula 1?

this year was my first year missing the race since 2003. Last year we camped out right across the street from the track. 50 bucks for the entire weekend plus 5 bucks per shower. I can't wait to go back next year.
  2. In the first picture it looks as though all your weight is on your right side but the postion of your head and shoulders looks like they are more to your left side. This I think can cause some imbalance and force you to have an over the top outside-in swing which is possibly causing your slice. However i'm making this assumption because I don't know what you look like at address.
  3. Tifosi Pave http://www.tifosioptics.com/interchangeable/pave.html
  4. I must be the only one that uses Nike MOJO's. I regularly hit at least one drive of 280+ with those. I've also hit a Nike One Black 280 on the fly. Yet I can't get the same distance with Nike's "distance" ball the Nike Juice.
  5. Considering Sergio and the Shark's daughter are no longer toghether she's out of the running. So my vote would either go to Chad Cambells wife or Luke's GF.
  6. could also be used as a good putting tool? I've seen where a pro while practicing his putting will put a quarter under the ball and wait to see the quarter until he looks up. Perhaps the compulsive gambler designer is using the chip the same way?
  7. I bought my set of Nike OSS Irons from ebay as well as my putter and hybrid but I will only use 3 Balls Golf to buy from off of EBay. They are really quick and the clubs were all in great shape.
  8. I tell you what. If he could hit the ball from 100 yards in consistantly then he would definately be in contention. His putting wasn't bad. Watching him leave it short so many times sunday I believe was definately nerves. He just needs to work on that 1/2 to 3/4 swing for those sub 100yd shots. Other than that you got to love the fact that he will rare back and explode through the ball no matter what.
  9. OOps sorry I meant to say faster. Thanks for the catch. I'll go back and edit.
  10. Can someone who knows about these things perhaps post a write up about what we should be looking for if we are hitting some balls using a launch monitor. For example. What is Smash? What's a good number for it? Swing speed - Pretty self explanitory. But for example my driver speed is approx. 10-15 mpg faster than my irons. Is this standard? Ball Speed - Again pretty self explanatory but how import is this number. Spin - Again pretty self explanatory but again what kind of numbers should I be looking for? Heck for all I know this isn't even a launch monitor. Some one help?
  11. It probably became a little mental for you. But also it sounds as though you may have not been fully closing the club face at impact. I imagine the Callaway's you have now aren't as forgiving as the original clubs on mishits. Also you could have had a slight swing plane error. When I get into those funks I have to think before every shot. Club head through the ball to the target. A good fix would be for a hole or two to only take the club back half way so that the toe of your club is pointing straight up. Then take your swing but stop the follow through waist high making sure to swing the club head through the ball towards the target. This should get the feeling of the proper plane and squareness of the club head at impact. Just make sure you use a club or two up from what you would normally hit. When I'm on the range and i'm clubbing the ball straight left (i'm a righty) I realize it's a swing plane issue and i'll hit about six balls as stated above. That normally cures that. If I'm slicing real bad then I try to over correct for about six balls and really get my club head just over square at impact.
  12. Ray Floyd also says to tee it up when the rules allow. It just makes sense. Now if you mentally have a problem hitting your iron's off the tee and you hit them just fine without it then don't fix what ain't broke.
  13. take your long iron out somewhere where there this a hardpan surface. No Ball. Now just start swinging at a specific spot in the ground. On top of what the other guys are saying you've probably just lost a little focus with the long iron on hard pan surface and now it's mostly mental for you.
  14. Harvey Pennick said that typically you should use an interlock grip if you are of average size. Those players with larger hands would be more suited for the overlap grip. The baseball grip I believe was good for someone having problems getting their hands turned over.
  15. I was half giggling half rolling my eyes at some of the responses. I honestly don't care if I hit a 7 and you hit a 9 to get to the same place. But being that I'm 5-10 220 I feel I should be able to hit the ball a little longer than some one 5-10 180 (unless it's Charles Howell III). For me I worry about the distance only because for me it's telling me I'm striking the ball well. If I'm left or right but long it means my club face wasn't square to the target at impact or I had some silly swing. Which for me is normally over the top for my slices. And for my hooks i tend to get too armsy on my swing. I think perhaps I didn't make myself clear. For example being the size I am and the swing speed I tend to produce If I were hitting my 7 only say 145-150 that means to me I probably haven't shifted my weight properly or something else went wrong. I think you have to worry about your distance because it is an important tell tell sign on some parts of your swing. I know that chart wasn't the be all end all but it does give me an idea of how i'm striking the ball.
  16. Yeah Raymond Floyd is a HUGE believer in the think positive frame of mind.
  17. I think that's kind of what I'm doing when i'm just thinking about keeping the back of my left hand moving toward the target. I realized a while ago the more I worry about a hazard the more likely i'll be to hit it there.
  18. Perfect!!! That's what i've been looking for. Oh and have fun in Maui. I played at one of the Wailea courses too on my honeymoon.
  19. Tiger (love that man's aggressivness) Brett Weiterich (sp?). Geoff Oglive Raymond Floyd Charles Howell III
  20. Ok so you've lined up your shot whether it's off the tee or in the fairway...etc. What is the one or two things you remind yourself before you begin your take away? For me I think "back of your left hand towards the target" "shorten back swing"(which means don't over swing. My main issue) and "swing through the ball down the target line not at the ball" Then I swing. Just 3 real quick thoughts. Now I need to come up with some thoughts on the putting green cause as of now I just kind of line it up and hit it.
  21. Trust me I don't have an ego thing when it comes to how far I can hit a club. If you can get there with a 7 but I need a 6 it doesn't matter to me as long as I get there. But I like to know where my ball striking stands. Today on the range I was hitting my 7 Pretty close to 160-165 AVERAGE. Where would this rank me you think in terms of length? below average average slightly above average
  22. What you guys are forgetting is Tiger is also deadly with the impossible/improbable shot. From time to time he is going to miss them. But it's what makes Tiger... well Tiger. He is extremely aggressive on the golf course if he's chasing the leader. I do believe had he been in the lead at the time he may have very well laid up. But lets give credit where credit is due. Zach beat Tiger on Sunday. It may never happen again where Zach beats Tiger on Sunday. But on that day he did it.
  23. Your seven over thru 5 and stop keeping score and have lost 4 balls already...... ON A FREAKING PAR 3 COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Yeah I don't know what happened over the last week but my swing is gone.
  24. I just went to my local bookstore (i.e. barnes and noble or borders) It's in the golf section. He has 2 other books that are very good also.
  25. For me it's more of a swing path issue. When hitting my Irons. When I really get into one the ball just shoots straight left. Not a hook at all . Just a straight left shot that is about 50-100 yards left of my target. But the distance and ball flight are perfect.
