The irons do nothing for me. Too funky and clunky

WD-40 or get yourself a gun cloth at walmart. for my gamer I keep the gun cloth in the headcover. it helps keep it dry and is helpfull if you forget to wipe it down at the end of the round

What to do with my Scotty?

Slighters go for $250-$500 depending on what you want. Go to the site and put in a request. His refinishing is pretty reasonable as well -

check out www.slightergolf.com I was up on Seattle and was at his shop on Tuesday. What a great guy and he does all of the work himself. Whatever you want. His putters are all handmades, by him. The refinishing is fabulous. -

Wilson Staff Spine Driver

No confusion here my friend. It was used. Wilson Staff has had it's ups and downs over the years. I played the FG 51 irons 15 years ago. Back in the day Hale Irwin, Payne Stewart, John Daly were their poster boys. Wilson went away from pro line golf for a while and are now trying to get back into the limelite with Padraig. BTW I'll bet he doesn't play that driver. But hey if you want to buy the Spine and it works for you all the best to you. I was only trying to save you some money by waiting. IT will have very little resale value. -

They may or may not actually be at Sports Authority. My point was, these will not in the long run be be in the same class as any of the pro line clubs that you could get. I've seen them for $80 used at Golf Gallaxy. -
I really suck at finding info on the Titleist web site. Anyone know the hosel bore on the AP1's. I bought my son some leftys with s-300 and he can't hit them so I'm thinking of changing the shafts. Unless of course there is any leftys out there that might be interested in them for $525 shipped

My 14 year old son who has a violent swing hit one and loved it. But at $300 would be a big waste of money as I am sure they will be $99 at sports authority in no time. -
When it comes to women it's best to just keep your mouth shut and learn to live with it. You cannot win. My wife has been consistently hitting the ball straight right for 20 years. For the first ten years it drove me insane and caused many fights. Seems simple enough that if you always hit it right you would line up left, don't you think? Let her do it her way or somehow suggest she get her girl friends together for a group lesson. Let the stranger do the dirty work.

Scotty Cameron in Disguise?

YOU talkin to ME? -
I played in mine this year. It was the first real tournament I ever played in. While I didn't finish last I did play terrible. Waiting for every shot while guys line up 10 inch putts causes you to spend too much time thinking about the fact that you are in a tournament. Five and a half hour rounds how do you get a rhythm going? I'm a grip and rip guy the less thinking the better. Tournament golf is way different than playing with your buddys and not nearly as much fun. At 47 I don't think I'll be joining the tour, too much choke in me.

Shaft PUREing, Puring, or Spining
sandtrap replied to GreensDruid's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I thought it was BS as well UNTIL I bought a spine finder. I took my irons apart and spined the shafts. Once you see the shafts SNAP into position you get it. Picture your shaft as a 2 x 4. Which way does it flex the easiest? Which is the most difficult? look at it like a clock If all of your shafts are oriented at 12 and 6 (easiest) they flex natural. remember the 2 x 4 If at 3 and 9 it's against the the "grain" and difficult to flex those are the 2 extremes. When shafts are inserted randomly you get all of the variations and luck of the draw. I have done my irons but not woods as removing and reinstalling graphite shafts is risky and I hit my woods well. One thing to consider is that when you spine your shafts to neutral they may feel softer than they did while unspined. if you spine your own you will be amazed how they snap into position -
reccomendations for bay area california
sandtrap replied to localhawaii's topic in Golf Courses and Architecture
I'm with you, great layout and only open to the public a short time. It used to be a military course and the generals and presidents played there. I think it's historic and very cool If you have connections and can get on Olympic do it. I ran into Reggie Jackson at Pasatiempo which is near Monteray If you are up north try Bodega Bay and if in wine country Chardoney is nice Lots of really good courses but most are pretty beat as they get play 12 months a year -
I would go demo some clubs that have the 5 and the 5.5 in a 6 iron and get a feel for your swing. It's a pretty hot shaft now and most stores and golf courses probably have them
-
My first reaction was that you should change the shafts, that was until I got to the part that said I love my shafts. If the 8 - pw work try switching out the shafts in the 5-7 to something a little weaker, 5.0 or 5.5

Traded my Irons, was it a good deal??
sandtrap replied to Liam84's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I say don't ask questions like this after. You will never be happy with the answer. Love the new clubs and it's a great deal. If you don't you can get about $700 for them. I hope you love them -
If you have MC Sports by you they have them for $27 dozen
-
They are going to send you a coupon and you will call callaway and order what you want from them. Also they are doing away with the callaway card which was kind of a rip anyway. By the time you got the points for what you want they up the points needed. Early on a whole set of Callaways, irons, woods and a bag was 90,000. I used the card for everything went to order and could only get the irons for 100,00. Use up the points while you can.

Custom putter and new irons by the end of the year.
sandtrap replied to whip_it_out's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
They are nice. I bought one for a business partners 60th birthday with his name on the bumpers, his catch phrase in the back cavity the year on one side of the hosel and the company name on the other. Pretty much whatever you want for $279 -
Putting green in the basement. punched the holes in the concrete and cemented 5 cups. The best thing you can do for your game is to chip and putt 15 minutes every day.
