So, I love what I do, love my job and my family, but I think I want to get serious about golf. My wife really doesn't seem to be to like the idea of me spending more time about the golf course, especially with a 23 month old. I already golf 2-3 times a week, and I think this would require me spending more time at it, I think. First things first, I need to join a local golf association to get my GHIN #, so I Can get my official GHIN handicap, then on to tournaments and other events. I, however, want to take a lesson or two from a PGA pro soon, to get my swing looked at. Do you think I have the right mindset here? Is there anything you recommend I do differently?

Ricky Fowler will be wearing a puma hot pink one in the Masters.

Cart & clubs branding

Sun Mountain and OGIO if you're looking for neutral bag...Both are extremely great, and you can find them for $100 on ebay and other places. That's my suggestion. -
Drive is all over the place...

I'd say see what you're doing on those 5 drives that go straight, and try to mimic what you did. Also, how do you set up the ball? Are you consistent in your stance? Setting up too close? Too far? There are so many things to tackle!! I'd recommend taking out a camera and videotaping a few of your swings, and post it here, there are some really good guys who can analyze your swing and give you tips. -
I'm all about the beer drinkin...BTW, are you sure you weren't smoking while writing your post? Haha! Sounds like an off day though, medically I have no input, but I don't think a joint will have an effect on your play the next day.

83??...3 greens were closed because they were still way too wet fr play, so couldn't really judge what I would've scored on those 3, but I based my score on those three holes on how I drove and where I landed the approach shot. On a very positive note, I had 3 birdies and 2 pars in a row on the back 9, very very excited, since I've been really practicing with my putter around the house all winter.

@OhioLefty.....D*CK!!!!! LOL... We're no one to to give true opinions on what equipment to get, but yes, it seems as with your handicap, blades might be a tough choice. I gotta recommend the Mizuno JPX-800's, holy crap are they nice! I'd find a few single blades on Ebay first and take them to the range, and see how they feel.

Not a huge gambler, but when it comes to golf, if something needs to be laid on the line to make me push myself more, so be it. If I'm playing solo and join another single, better believe it I'm playing against them, but they don't know it. I definitely want to play in a tournament this year.

Nice Erik....does that happen often? Getting replies from players themselves?

Yea, I really think they must've really lost some type of money in this deal. This cart is definitely worth more than $120 at cost, and shoot, they weren't even collecting on shipping, which is usually where they make up the loss sometimes!! I felt bad at first, but when they cancelled my order for no reason and didn't even tell me, I got no pity for them now.
-
On the phone with them right now...Will let you know what happens... ****UPDATE**** What I did yesterday was genius. First thing I did was call to see if the item was available, and the salesperson told me it was, so I said I wanted to talk to a manager about a cancelled order. They weren't available so they said to call back today after 8am. I did and when I spoke with the supervisor, he said "honestly, I don't know why your order was cancelled." I KNOW they were going to throw me the whole, "item is no longer available, it sold out" bullpoop, but I did my homework, they had no leg to stand on now. They put the order back through for me, but this time I had to pay full price, and then they're going to credit the 40% off when the order ships. If you look at the coupon now online, it says it excludes "Clicgear" stuff, so I think they realized this and started cancelling as many orders as they could. We're all lucky to have gotten that 40% off, I bet Modells lost a TON of money here.
-
Good for you! I'll get them to apply it again. BTW, what's the other forum?
-
Did anyone else get this e-mail??? Did anyone else's order get cancelled? I'm beyond furious. I put the order through, they approve the coupon, and cancel it?!!!?!?! I called first and see if they were available, and they told me yes they were, before I told them my problem, at least they can't go back and tell me it's not available.

Most of us are regular players, 80's, 70's, 90's and yes, 100's. I consider someone a good golfer when they are CONSISTENTLY getting around the 80's and low 90's, scorewise. But, I've made the mistake of getting out on the course with guys who say they shot a 86 last round, and when I get out with them, they take 100 mulligans, shoot, I'd be a 0 handicap then! So, If you're humble and abide by the rules, you're okay in my book.

Yea, it ended, I think, at midnight. So glad I ordered it!! And no I have not received shipping info yet.

I'm just replying to the person who wrote the comment, and I barely read any responses... Sorry to break it to you man, but have you seen the stores??? Nike, Callaway and every other golf brand have to watch out this year, because of this kid, he's brought that style out of ALMOST everyone, especially the young generation. All you see in the front lines when you walk into a Golf Smith or Golf Galaxy store is Puma clothing. The hats, the belts, the shirts, and the shoes. This is new, so I really haven't seen anyone wearing it on the course since it's still winter here in Philly, but I think we'll be seeing a ton of people with the bright shirts on this year..I completely agree with your point though, golf is a gentleman's game, but golf has to wrap its arms around this type of player, in order for it to continue to grow. As a players standpoint, I usually look at someone who wears that type of clothing out and say to myself "he better be as good as Fowler to be wearing that stuff!!" If you're good, and you can pull it off, be my guest.

Jealous jealous jealous!!!! I haven't gotten out yet, but have been on the range 4 times already in the last 2 weeks. Carrying my drives 265-275 on the range after a winter filled with relaxing my back ad working out a bit...Cannot wait to get out!!!
