OK it just seemed a lot. Im 6'4" and mine are 3 up. If you are ever buying a current years model of club, it is worth getting fitted. It gives you the opportunity to play the best you can with your equipment. Before i had clubs way to short and i would top the ball all the time. After the fitting, i have topped the ball once in the my last 3 rounds and it added 10 yards to all my irons.

I need some wedges.... suggestions?

I don't know if i would say anyone with double digit handicaps should not have a 60. I'm pretty accurate with mine. I would say though that anyone with over like a 22 handicap should not really be using one. When my handicap was higher it just caused me more frustration than satisfaction. I would say just get a 54 or 56. Once you get good enough with it, you can even open the club a little to make it a 58 or so. -
Are you sure 5 degrees up? Thats quite drastic.

Well since its yours it will never look complicated or hard to understand. The only thing I would add to improve it would be par 3, par 4 and par 5 performance.
-
Its good just overly complicated. I would have just made rows for each category that you wanted instead of having 5 numbers in each box. That way if you play the same course a lot you can easily see what your trouble holes are. I don't know if you are planning on giving this to other people to use or this is is going to stay as a personal sheet but other people will certainly get confused with your methodology.

I can usually tell by looking at the 150 yardage marker how far i am. It only starts to get sketchy once I'm past about 220 yards. In that case I always play a club shorter than i think. I learned very quickly that short is always better than long.

My better drives always stick out in my memory and I usually will go home and use google earth to measure them. Usually top out around 290. I have a friend though who constantly believe he drives the ball 300+ yards but I always out drive him by 10 yards with my 3 wood and i know i don't hit my 3w over 300 yards. ~265 tops.

A guy I played with on Wednesday. He hits his tee shot and it rolls through the fairway into a stream on the right. He manages to find his ball gets it, drops it and hits on and putts out. My friend asks if he got a 5. He said "no a 3, they should've never put that water there, its unfair."
-
Well thats like the guys that hit their first drives about 230 yards and are 250+ out and are waiting for the green to clear so they can hit their 2nd shots. I think my worst was on the first tee just after figuring out our handicaps, mine was the lowest so they said lead the way. I tee up and top the ball horribly. It goes about 2 inches and drives straight down into the tee box plugging. Then in my first year, i did this quite often. I would barely nick the top of the ball, it would go up like 6 or 7 feet straight up and land right back in the same spot. Always good for a laugh.

I used to put a lot of pressure on myself to play well. When the rounds go south and you have that mind set you really start to get frustrated and its no longer fun. I hardly ever put pressure on myself anymore. I'm out there to have fun. I have very good course management now and I've realized that for my handicap, bogey's are not bad scores. Just learn to play to your ability.

A good cigar for everyone out there. Carlos Toranos Exodus. Its very strong but has a great draw on it. I just picked up a box after having them recommended to me. You will not regret the decision to pick up a few of them.

Like the other people, when there is a short putt we always say "Hit it with your purse." After playing with 2 asian guys from New York we picked up one of their sayings. Anytime you duff a shot off the tee its always "Safe."

I remember when i tried out for my high school golf team as a freshman. I shot an 87 the first day and a 104 the 2nd day. Needless to say i missed making the team.

I have the regular sumo and it is by far the loudest driver out there. Any time i go to the range, first hit with it and everyone looks over. I sumo 2 is a little louder but i couldn't get over the square look otherwise i probably would have gotten it.

keeping the ball in the fairway is simple. Keeping the ball in your fairway is hard.

This par 3 is just like the long par 5's where the players hit 3W into the green from 280 out. Its the same premise. To me its perfectly fine and most of the players when asked about it didn't seem to mind it. I will say there will not be many 2's there but there will be plenty of pars.

I know how you feel. I have the same problem and tried to fix it but still i have fairly large gaps in between wedges. I hit my PW 160, my 52* 135yards, my 56* 120yards and my 60* 100 yards. All i can say is go to the range and practice 3/4 swings with each club to fill in those gaps. I'm in the process of doing that now. Outrider, if you were to get a 50 and want to keep your 52 in your bag i would say drop your 4 iron. No need for it when you have 2 hybrids.
-
I was wondering for the people that have hybrids, do you loose distance with a hybrid as compared to its counter part iron? I hit my 3 iron 240 and my 4 iron 225. Also i never hit my 3 iron out of the rough, but i will hit my 4 iron out of the rough usually with good results. Probably 1 out 5 will go off target. I'm thinking about getting a hybrid but for me i feel it will be a waste since i'm usually hitting driver then 9 iron and lower except for 450+ par 4's and par 5's.

Oakmont greens running already running at 13.5

Since it seems everyone likes to see a course that will humble the top players, you will like the article i wrote for the numbers game column. It will be posted tomorrow. -
Wow they did a really good job with that. Looks better than new.
-
10 will give you an idea but 20 is how its supposed to be calculated. Since it takes your 10 best scores 10 wont' be too accurate but it should be close.

Nice. I can't wait to go watch them tomorrow, Wednesday and Sunday. I'm going to take a lot of pictures tomorrow. -
My new wedges do the same thing. its a little annoying but the damage to the ball is worth how well the wedges work.
