  1. Garrigus with a 27 inch putter? He looks so uncomfortable bending over so far.
  2. What made it even more funny is that he never once made an excuse for how bad he was playing. He just kept talking about tournaments he's played in and the low scores he shoots. "Last week I played in the Bremerton City Championship and shot a 69 and 73." If one of us mentioned a local golf course, he'd tell us the low score he shot there.
  3. Played 18 today with my buddy who plays to a 5 and is LONG, can hit most par 5s in 2. On the 3rd hole we catch up to a single playing from the tips who was whited out from head to toe with the latest TaylorMade gear. R11 driver, woods, staff bag, Tour preferred MBs, etc. He asks if we want to join him and says, "I'm prepping for a tournament tomorrow so I'm playing from the tips." He then proceeds to hook his drive into the woods on his way to double bogey. I notice that he's playing a Callaway ball and I ask why he doesn't play the Penta since he obviously loves TM. He says, "I hate that ball. I used to play the Pro V1 but my swing coach suggested I play a better ball so I switched to the i(z)." He keeps talking about this tournament that he's playing in so my buddy asks him what his handicap is and he says, "plus 1.7", I almost spit my water out! He also said that he was sponsored by Allstate. This guy was hooking and slicing drives, missing greens left and right, missing multiple 5 foot putts, just bad. On the 6th hole he moves up and plays from the whites with us. I mentioned my buddy's handicap and length because I'm constantly in awe of his pure crisp swing and his power, I love playing with him. If this guy was really a plus 1.7, he should have been playing lights out, especially from the whites with a rating of 69 and a slope of 125.
  4. Check out the clearance sales on TGW. I've found $60 shirts for as low as $25. Can't beat that!
  5. Will you get your money's worth? I bought every course available for a total of 36 courses. I play almost every day so to me it was worth it.
  6. I've been spending a lot lately. Just got back from the store with: Adidas Powerband 3.0 Odyssey White Ice D.A.R.T. Mallet 34 inches This thing is so easy to line up! Can't wait to try it on the course tomorrow!
  7. Oh man! This deal just got better! When I purchased the coupon, I shared the link of Facebook. I just got an email from Living Social saying that 3 people bought the coupon through my link and therefore, my coupon is free! I just 3 dozen balls for $37! Less than the price of 1 box!
  8. I just got an AWESOME deal! Yesterday's Living Social coupon for my area was $25 for $50 at Pro Golf Discount, a golf chain here in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Right now, Callaway Tour i(s) balls are buy 2 dozen, get a dozen free. Including tax, the $25 for the coupon, and my military discount, I paid $62 for $140 worth of balls! Is that a deal or what?
  9. I currently have the Callaway Hyper-Lyte 4.0 I've had it for a week and love it, but I'm considering returning it for the Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 lefty version where the clubs hang to your left. Hmmm....
  10. I've been reading online and it seems easy. Has anyone here ever done it? Is it as easy as it looks?
  11. Neither did I, until I saw it on the course. The main difference is that you pick it up with your left arm first, and the clubs hang to the left.
  12. Fellow lefties, how do you carry your clubs? When I fist started playing using a single strap bag, I would carry it on my left shoulder. For years I've used a "normal" stand bag, one where the clubs heads hang on the right side and you pick up with your right shoulder first. I've grown used to this with no problem. Yesterday at the course, I saw a guy with a left handed carry bag, club heads on left side, pick up with left shoulder first. He was a few fairways away so I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I did some research and Sun Mountain makes their Superlight 3.5 bag in a lefty model. Online only of course, since no store around here carries it. I want to buy it, but I'm afraid that it might feel weird after all these years of using a righty bag. What do my fellow lefties think?
  13. I used to use these, they're about $6 for 2 at most golf shops. Works pretty good. The other day I bought a Frogger Amphibian Towel and it came with a smaller one for balls. I love it!
  14. I spent some money this past weekend. On Sunday I went to Target and bought 2 shirts and a pair of shorts. They have some good golf apparel, C9 by Champion. Today I went to my local golf store and bought: Callaway Hyper-Lite 4.0 Frogger Amphibian Towel A glove And a brush
  15. I had 2 last week. Monday- 534 yard par 5. I wasn't hitting my driver well this round so I hit 3 wood, hybrid, hybrid to about 10 feet and 2 putt for par. Friday- 389 yard par 4. I stuck a 5 iron from about 160 out to within 5 feet and made the birdie. Why can't we play every shot like our good ones?
  16. The main that got me was the possibility of breaking 80, but I could only go 4 over on the back. On the front I just played my game, no pressure, and shot 3 over. Now on the back, like NI4NI said, I kept playing the what if game. The score was in my head on every swing. My playing partners kept saying, "Forget that last hole. Just play your game." But I couldn't.
  17. I played with my regular foursome at Classic Golf Club in Spanaway yesterday morning. I play the front beautifully shooting a 39. At the turn, I made the cardinal sin of looking at my score and thinking, "All I have to do is shoot 40 on the back and I break 80!" I started the back bogey, double, double, double, on my way to a 50! The only saving grace was on the 16th where I stuffed my 5i from 160 yds out to about 5 ft and sunk the birdie putt. I WILL break 80 before this season is over! I just gotta play my game and not look at the score card!
  18. 88 yesterday at Classic Golf Club, par 72. One blow up hole, a par 5 that took me 8 to get home, and 3 3 putts. Gotta get out on the practice green and just practice my putting.
  19. I'm watching now. It's stableford scoring, 9 holes. If you go for a power play (black flag) and score birdie or better, you get double points. You must go for 3 power plays in the first 8 holes, you must declare before you tee off. On the 9th hole, you can play it safe or go for a power play. If you choose power play and bogey or worse, you lose 3 points. Hope I didn't confuse anyone!
  20. What a way to lose it. Congrats to Luke Donald!
  21. No, I usually carry a dozen or so. That's one of my biggest pet peeves. Here's what I said in the pet peeve thread: "My number 1 pet peeve is people who don't carry enough ball/tees for a round of golf. I have a buddy who constantly runs out of both. The tees don't bother me as much, but the balls do. What makes you think I want to give you a $4 ball when I know you play cheaper stuff and constantly lose them? Last week, he was out of balls on the 8th hole. I gave him a ball to finish the front. At the turn, I made him buy me 2 sleeves of Callaway Tour i(s) and he bought a box balls for himself."
  22. I wanna punch the Canadian, I believe his name is Kent, in the mouth! He's crossed the line from confident to cocky *******!
  23. Caught up with my regular group on the back 9 yesterday. Shot a 42, 6 over. 5/9 GIR, 5/7 FIR. 4 pars, 4 bogeys, 1 double. 19 putts, all 2 putts, 1 3 putt.
  24. I'm on my 6th season, lots of free time. The events that change courses every year are: The Worldwide Classic North American Golf Calssic US Regional Cup The Fantasy Challenge The rest stay the same. I wish the game would recognize what DLC you have downloaded and change other events as well.
  25. There's a fellow sand trapper on this season... http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/45739/follow-russell-normandin-on-big-break-indian-wells
