  1. lag putting ( i wished i played on fast greens, 99% of the time the greens i play on are slow as shit (below 10 on stimp meter) when ive played over 10 all the way to 12.5 ive done well. Im the kind of person who feels that the faster the greens are the smaller the stroke I have to take so the less chance of error. Also for some reason I just dont focus for every hole and throw away rounds that should be under par and turn thnem into even or 1 or 2 over.
  2. a good way to get over this is to go to the range and practice the holes there, visualizet he tough shots for you and hit them over and over.
  3. hit a 3 iron from 225 to 3 ft and made eagle
  4. gotta be driving distance 30 handicaps dont hit it 300 yards im sorry (especially consistantly) And ive played with maybe 4-5 people in my life who could consistantly put it out thre 300 (meaning they flew it probably 280-290) and ive played with A LOT of people in tournaments and in highschool.
  5. I pull the ball when I dont make a complete turn back and then I get out of sync, make sure you make a full turn back, if you are just so rt of lifting your hands and then swinging instead of turning it will be quite easy to pull the ball and you will be in trouble, if you pull draw/hook the ball like me try the full turn
  6. try to mimic jim furyks swing with a PW then go to your driver, if you push your hands way out away from your body, you have no room to come over the top so you have to come from the inside
  7. it might be your shaft stiffness When Iplayed with a regular it seemed like my ball would die in the air and go straight down, once i switched to stiff i didnt have that problem anymore
  8. 1 irons to my understanding are modern 2 irons due to every club being made 1 club stronger in say the past 10-15 years, a modern PW was a 9 iron back in jacks day. Anyway, Id say Tiger so far has been much more dominant, but its too early to compare careers and tiger is/was a great 2 iron player, maybe the best ever, so that whole long iron arguement should be mute
  9. whats wrong with a fist pump?
  10. I use cleveland ta7's were nice when I bought them BUt I think I should have bought the Tour model instead at the time. I was looking for a thread on players irons and have noticed that a good one was closed so I guess ill post a question here. Does anyone who plays cavity backs or used to play cavity backs that switched to forged/blades have the feeling that the ball flies off the face way too hot? Especially for PW-8 iron? To me, a 3/4 shot feels the same on the face as a full shot, but with my GW/SW/LW i notice a difference in the feel, the slower the hit the softer it feels on the face. It feels like a 3/4 shot with my PW just explodes off, and I have a really hard time with distance control with it. My friend has The Nike Forged blades TW model, with 3 added degrees of loft and they every club feels like a SW to me and it doesnt feel like it flies off the face. I also cannot chip for the life of me with my TA7's , the ball comes off way too hot and low, when chipping with my gw/sw/lw and those nike blades though, it makes a nice click and comes off a lot more soft and true, ive wondered if thats a problem with high handicappers not using 9 irons and such around the greens, it simply comes off too low and hot and just sucks. Anyone else notice this with CB irons as opposed to MB/Forged/Blades? Im thinking of getting new irons but $800 is a bit expensive for me since im a college student.
  11. if you ever play alone, DO you get mad? Because whether you believe it ornot, no one cares if you hit a bad or good shot, obviouisly most people want you to play well, but if you dont itts not the end of the world. You arent judged by the scores you make on the course, however you will be judged by your temperment, you probably dont make golf very enjoyable forthe people you play with. Also, you may need to ask yourself if you really enjoy golf, or if you just enjoy shooting low, because if its the latter then maybe you shouldnt play because you really dont enjoy it. How well you score is not indicitive of your personal worth. You need to just realize getting angry is juvenile and it shows lack of self esteem (or that you are psycho) Trying to "control it" doesnt help the problem, realizing what the problem is and then figuring out how to get rid of it does. Having a bad "temper" is a horrible excuse for everyone to have, if you are an adult get over yourself (sorry if this come soff harsh, I used to have a problem with getting angry and realized that I never got angry until I started playing with a friend of mine who used to go berserk on the course, I started playing with much older better players and assessed why I got angry and now I enjoy golf as much as I ever have, dont worry about your score and take things as they come, it all evens out in the end anyway) Also, just remember you are paying to play, if you get psised off and dont enjoy playing dont play, and no one gives a damn about your score but yourself, so dont tell everybody about it because it gets old.
  12. I was talking about the ball moving when they ground their club, not them purposely moving it. Im sure it happens a ton and no one ever calls it onthemselves/others
  13. she doesnt look like a heffer there to me, but that being said I havent seen much of her, so she may look pretty bad from certain angles, who knows, I just think she has a nice face with a good smile. To each his own I guess, but like I said before, Gulbis looks bad when her hair isnt pulled back imo anyway
  14. id say lost ball, OB, and your ball moving when you address it, it definatfely happens tons with high handicaps in the rough, im sure their ball moves a ton.
  15. dominance in sports is good because it gives you a measuring stick, if a different player won each tournament every time throughout the year the pga tour wouldnt be much fun, its nice to have dominant players and see how other guys stack up against them in the clutch. It also gives you someone to root against and gives people fun rooting for the underdog. and if you wanna talk about choking, check out the masters on justin rose's tee shot, when was the last time youve seen someone of his length miss it so bad in contention that he has driver 3 wood into a par 4 on 17?
  16. i voted for paula, I dont think Gulbis has a very pretty face, and her hair is jacked up. From what ive seen Brittany Lincicome is pretty hot though
