  1. http://www.ping.com/pdfs/performancescoresheet.pdf Here is one from Ping....it is a good idea, but maybe a little too time consuming. I haven't made it through a round using this.
  2. Matt M, you said it perfectly....he could be adored by U.S. golf fans....but he acts like a poor sport....maybe its his "firey" compteitive nature....don't know. It has nothing to do with the Us vs Them thing. Look at Ernie Els, Paddy, Clarke, Justin Rose, class acts. When you act like an idiot, you have to accept the consequences. See Rory Sabatini....Don't cry about it.
  3. Sox Fan, I'm not familiar with ESC....is that a triple bogey maximum? And you are supposed to do this for your Handicap purposes????? Oh my God, that's the best news I've heard ALL WEEK!!!!! Here's my 12 on a Par 4: -Otis Brown (OB) on my tee shot...Hitting 3 -Otis Brown near the green in 3....shooting 5 -Chili Dip my Lob Wedge -Plug my Lob Wedge under the lip of the bunker....don't know HOW it got there. -4 (FOUR) to get out of this stupid lie in the bunker (2 of those shots were probably my POOR decisons). -2 putt.
  4. Am here for work and got RAINED out before starting at Magnolia Grove....which looks immaculate, BTW. I have GOT to get back down here, or elsewhere on the trail. Question: Which Robert Trent Jones golf course do you like best?? Probably should create a Poll...but not sure how or if I can... I appreciate hearing your stories....
  5. Congrats on the birth of your daughter! I give myself a B+ Goals (from memory) were: Improve my drives - CHECK! Thanks to my new TM Burner driver. I'm long (for me) and in play (mostly). Improve my scores...and start scoring in the 80s - Check and am breaking into the 80s some....not consistently. Eliminate (really BAD) others - I'm failing here....I honestly took a 12 on a par 4 (no groups behind us) with 2 OBs and I spent a week in the beach on that hole!!! Hit more GIRs - am still working on it. Nassau, how did you do it? Lose YIPs on Chips - improving, but still have some Retardo Montalbons.... Overall, I'm very pleased with my progress....and I feel like I'm "almost there." Does anyone else get that feeling??
  6. I hear ya! Me too....I'm getting it now...but I play every Sunday and if I'm lucky 9 or the range once a week.
  7. If she plays golf, she must have a swing like Jim Furyk's.....outside-in! Hubba, hubba!
  8. By 2's and 3's do you mean doubles and triples???? I'm trying to get rid of those!!! Ha!!! By distance of your first putt....you mean the distance to the hole before you putt, right? Thanks, good tip.
  9. I track my stats too....Fairway, GIR, Number of putts. How do you specifically track your game......can you track on the scorecard, do you printout form....if so, can you provide example. Good point about the chips....I probably putt under 2 per hole...but I don't hit many GIRs either. Thanks for the tips!
  10. 2007 Goals Shoot in the 80s Continue with improved distance and accuracy on drives But mainly....hit some greens from 150 yds in....mainly 120 in. I probably hit 20% or less. Its frustrating. Also, lose the yips on chips! Putting is generally pretty good....2 or less per hole....but may be skewed by chipping close after missing greens. Good luck yall!
  11. Sounds good....I can't wait to hear about it. This guy is a jerk.....NO excuses. You don't talk to paying customers like that EVER. Please keep us posted. I would like to see this guy appologize. Face to face. Good job.
  12. Did anyone catch the highlight 'bloopers' of Sunday's round on NBC? It showed Tiger chilli-dipping a chip....and Mickelson blading a chip over the green. I was astounded to say the least....it made them seem human after all. Unreal.[/QUOTE] Now that's more like MY game!!!
  13. I use the Taylormade Burner 3 wood....it also has a shallow face and is good (for me) off the deck and off the tee....but with the shallow face don't tee it up very high at all. I would also recommend trying a 5 wood. With current technology, 5 wood may be the ticket for straighter and farther (compared to 3 wood, for you). I couldn't really hit my old Taylormade Bubble 3 wood....but when I tried this Burner.....WHOA!!
  14. I scored my personal best of 81 about 10 years ago at Orgill Golf Course (Muni in Memphis). Incidentally, it was my first time to break 90! I finished (pitch-in) birdie, par, par, par. It was awesome. Recent best - 82 at Galloway Golf Course (another city course in Memphis). I pared the first 7 holes, doubled the last two. Total of 10 pars. Best 9 - Probably a 39 (4 over) My Goal=more rounds in 80s!
  15. Sounds like my game!!!! :)
  16. It was refreshing to see Phil win, for a change, against Tiger. He made some incredible recovery shots and pressure putts. I'm happy for him. What is the deal with him not playing???? Any word on why he's upset with the Commish? Anyway, it was "primetime" golf and just shows that Tiger doesn't always win!
  17. That kind of behavior is TOTALLY unacceptable. I don't know what it is with golf courses....lots of time, the starters (are old grouchy guys) and the people selling the rounds are grumpy also! I would be furious and would have a discussion with the head pro. Describe what happened and ask him if that's how his course "does things?" You are a grown man (I assume) and you don't deserve to be treated that way...you are the paying customer. Good luck and please follow up on what happens!
  18. What is the saying about everyone has an opinion....and they all stink, except yours??? :) I guess people can't be swayed....can't believe this thread is stretched out so far! Food for thought.....how are all Beer Girls "paid"......could be "tips" are an assumption of employers, like restaurant waiters. Anyway, have a good weekend....I'm off to play some golf and contemplate tipping Beer Girls!! :) And IMHO it has nothing to do with alcohol....just tipping the service....which again, apparently, is everyone's personal preference. Get out and play golf....have fun!
  19. Of course you tip the Beer Cart Girl, Wench, Hag....who brought you people up??? You are playing golf (mini-vacation) and she brings you a beer (yaaaaay!!). Often, it lightens the game up a little bit, or changes the topic of conversation! $2-$3 beer, $1 tip. Not per beer...but a buck per visit per person, that's fair.
  20. I haven't seen the article....but from all other indications I get from watching golf and reading mags, I think Phil is a great guy! And I love it when he wins, cause we get to see Amy!!! He seems to be a genuine guy who respects/appreciates the fans. He's a regular guy....who isn't perfect, makes mistakes (ahem, U.S. Open). IMHO, Tiger is a robot....he's like Ivan Llendl to throw out an old tennis reference. Don't get me wrong, Tiger is the man and practically unbeatable when he's on....but he seems extremely guarded with fans, in interviews, showing hardly any emotion. With that being said, I'm a Phil Fan!
  21. OMG, Wonder Woman!!!
  22. I have WONDERED about that Balzee thing!! Saw it on the golf channel! Thanks for the info! P.S. Do you guys know when I can start to make my own posts...I'm kinda new to the forum.
  23. Good point about ruining it for other players....I am "old" compared to you, 39 this month....and it drives me crazy when people get SO mad at their game or how fast or slow others are playing....it is just a game. Someone else said it, about enjoying your time out there...and good shots. If you obsess on every shot and can't let it go, it will most likely have a negative effect on the rest of your round. Do you ride or walk? Walking may give you a chance to "shake it off" and calm down before your next shot. Try to enjoy it! And lighten up, for your sake and those playing with you. One parting thought, at my ripe old age of 39, I've decided that I'm too old to play with miserable SOBs...and I have let a couple of guys in our 4some make the turn without us....and played with the 2some behind us. Life is too short to play with miserable people. Golf is great....enjoy it! And at a 2 handicap....what are you complaining about???!!!! I'm so jealous at about an 18 handicap! Hit 'em straight....and if you don't, take a deep breath and laugh it off!
