  1. Bah, got "to the path" stuck in mind. Thank you Erik.
  2. Wouldn't it be slightly open to the swing path in order to promote a push/draw? Square to the swing path with in to out swing path = Push Open to swing path with in to out = Push Draw Closed to swing path with in to out = Pull Draw aka Hook
  3. See I don't know that I have it in me to face that level of uncertainty. I love the game, but not to the level that those guys obviously do.
  4. Troy Matteson : 297.1 Driving Distance, 24th on the tour. http://www.pgatour.com/players/02/71/20/ He's the only one I found on this thread that had above average driving.
  5. Wouldn't that be more akin to a Texan knowing what is going on in Georgia?
  6. Ah, I begin to see here. You take it as a personal attack against you. I can understand that..to a point. On the other hand, you seem to take for granted that what you see on tv is in fact the complete story. It seems odd to me that he would specifically say that some areas weren't roped off and that people continued to take photos/talk on the phone/shoot video when there were signs up against doing so when that wasn't the case. It would seem to me, that since he was the one there, actually at the tournament, that he would have a better chance of seeing these things than you, a television viewer would. Now if your knowledge came from actually being at the event, I would say that you have a valid point in refuting his statements. I'm not a huge fan of Bubba's. I actually tend to follow Phil more closely. I've watched both videos several times and can't see "surly and ungrateful, and at worst he was downright ignorant and a spoiled brat". If anything, it seems you have something very personal against him.
  7. I'm actually from Argentina....so I wouldn't really say "rest of the world".
  8. I tend to agree with the "sensationalist" comment. We're not seeing the full contents of the interview here. We're only seeing snippets. A lot of this seems to boil down to a perception, by mostly EU folks, that since Bubba doesn't know much about Paris, he's being disrespectful. As mentioned briefly before, this is Bubba's first trip to Europe and it wasn't a sight-seeing trip. As much as most people in Europe couldn't conceive not knowing the name of the monuments in Europe, the same is true of the US. Just so everyone is on the same page, here is a great map showing a comparison of the US to Western Europe: http://goeurope.about.com/od/europeanmaps/l/bl-country-size-comparison-map.htm As mentioned above, both links posted seem to contain the same snippets without the rest of the interview. "Attractive reporter"...really? The whole car thing is ridiculous because it is not verified and we don't know the specifics of the contract he signed to play over there. Watch the video interview. I think that shoots closer to the truth than what we've read about, at least in this thread.
  9. Hmm, it says it right on their home page now. Free UPS Ground Shipping on all order over $75 *Not Valid outside the 48 States.
  10. Yup, you can. I just did it for my course. Go to http://www.mobitee.com/golfs find your course and select it. Then click on Edit at the bottom. You'll have the ability to modify the scorecard, general info, and finally the hole layout.
  11. I was thinking of buying one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Tilley-Endurables-T4MO-Eco-Airflo-Khaki/dp/B0033WRW30/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid;=1308848228&sr;=8-2
  12. Only thing I notice is your right heel coming up well before impact. Maybe part of the reason for the consistency issues?
  13. Yup I get them too. Especially if I just go to the range and don't walk. After 60 or balls my left shin is on fire. I think it has to do with posting up on the left leg on my follow through. I was going to film myself to determine if I was doing something wrong or if it really was that my legs were just that weak. I've been walking the course for about 3 months now...the walking isn't what causes it for me, but rather the actual swing.
  14. If I remember the percentages correctly, initial path of the ball is mostly determined by face angel, fade/draw on the ball is 86% path not face. So if you're saying you're trying to hit a draw, you need to look at your swing path, not how open/closed the face is. Here's another post on it: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/7153/how-club-path-and-face-angle-determines-ball-flight
  15. That's just silly. I agree with the Fairyway_CY, player B is a first class dbag.
  16. While it would appear unfair at first glance, you also have to take into consideration the other side of it. The more numbers that are averaged, the less each individual score will affect the overall average. It can hurt you or help you depending on what happened. To me it looks like the rules are a little ambiguous. In your example below, a person could do OK in the those last f events and end up with a very average score. On the other hand, if that same person had competed in events earlier in the year and done better, those scores would help bolster his later scores and increase his overall score as well as help mitigate some of the damage form the later scores. I suppose at the end of the day you could view it as a way to strategize.
  17. I really like it. For me it provides perspective on how the pros are actually aiming and shaping their shots.
  18. I managed to stop the vid at the point when your left arm is parallel to the ground. The shaft is already on it's way down out and down...I found this vid that was posted in another thread here: At about 38 seconds you can see that his arms are parallel to the ground and the shaft is at about 90 degrees relative the ground. I always thought that was the idea position whereas on yours it seems like you're at about 70 degrees or so. Then again, I may be totally off.
  19. I never understand these sort of statements. First you say you don't care, then you say that it doesn't stop you from commenting on it. If you don't care, don't comment. If you do care, comment. It's simple really. It's like me saying that I don't care if people make comments like yours and then proceed to comment on it. At the end of the day, what in the world is the point? I suppose there's another reason why you'd choose to post. It would revolve around either having an axe to grind or stirring the pot a little just because. These guys play at a professional level and compete week in and week out. If they choose to miss an event here and there, I say it's their prerogative. It doesn't bar me from saying I'm a little bummed they chose not to compete but it also means I don't have any right in deciding where they will compete.
  20. I'm not an expert in any sense, but it looks to me like your casting the club which is leading to the flip through impact.
  21. http://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/x-forged-vintage-wedges/wedges-x-forged-vintage-2008,default,pd.html Callaway pre-owned is running a promotion on their used x-forged wedges. I got mine a few weeks ago and love it.
  22. I agree with the folks advising to buy used. I went to my local golf store, tried every single model they had, then went home and ordered a used Odyssey mallet for $60. It was "on sale" at the store for $140. The more I get into this sport/obsession the more I discover that a lot of people trade in almost brand new clubs to get the latest and greatest. I can live with hand-me-downs that are basically in like-new condition.
  23. I can see your videos.
