Well, I sold the DCI blacks for a little more than I purchased them for, so that's good. I'm currently playing a set of Mizuno T-Zoid Pro II irons with Mizuno Exsar Regular shafts. The feel of these irons is sublime. I've also put a Titleist TSi3 9 degree driver in the bag with the Diamana Kai-Li Stiff and I've never hit the ball further. I'd say that I've gained 10 yards with the driver. I hit a couple of drives around 290 and had a chance to get on all of the par 5's in two. I may be going back to the trusty Ping Pal 2 putter in short order. I've been beating my regular foursome out of money pretty much every weekend, which is perfect for Christmas time.

I normally carry a pellet gun with me to the golf course. I find it helpful to get rid of squirrels, ducks, mud hens and other animals that annoy me while I'm on the course.

My goal this year is to get down to one set of irons. I currently have 6 sets remaining, most of which are on Ebay or some other online marketplace. I have gone back to my faithful and trusty Titleist DCI black triangle irons with Titleist Tri-Spec Regular shafts. These are the irons that I won two club championships with and regularly beat Bart and William Tornquist out of hundreds of dollars back in the late 90's. I think they are probably the best iron ever made and, believe me, I've tried them all. I like my current set, Callaway Apex CF19 but sometimes an iron will travel 20 yards further than I expected. They are just silly long and unpredictable. With the Titleist DCI Blacks, I get less distance but the distance is very reliable and accurate.

Last year I played in the final round of the club championship. I walked all 36 holes and I beat my best friend Bart. Bart took a cart for the second 18. I had him finished by the 15th hole, par 3. I hit a towering 5 iron to 8 feet and slammed the putt into the back of the cup. Bart was devastated whilst I was elated. There is nothing better than beating a close friend in the club championship. He knows that you are now his better and he must always bow down to you. Bart couldn't even sit with me in the men's grill after the round. He was too shell shocked. Just one of those special moments.

I always walk. I don't care if the other 3 people are riding or not. I know that I will play faster than them for the following reasons: 1) I'm always the best player 2) I normally carry so I can just walk straight to the green, put my bad down and go putt. I'm not driving around the green, parking, messing with my irons, etc. 3) I'm fast. I don't mess around. Gold is such a better game when you walk. There is just no comparison. Plus, you get in shape and stay in shape. If you play golf 3 times per week and walk you are getting great exercise. I bet half the guys on here that claim they can't walk, it's because you never walked in the first place and got out of shape and then injured.

I find it surprising that I speak openly and freely in regard to my position on golf carts and I'm issued a warning by the "committee" whom no doubt have very little going on in their lives. I guess this is one of those forums where you have to agree with everyone and go along with the crowd. Well, not me fellas. No sir. You won't find me riding a cart and messing up the course. You won't find me being a lazy bones and driving around in circles looking for my ball. You see, I've always been involved in sports and I've always been in great shape. That's just the way I am. I'm a winner, women love me and I'm must an overall badass. That's the way I roll. I do take a push cart with me. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I carry my clubs. If it's a hilly course I will carry. Carry on ladies! I once knew a chap named William Tornquist. Is he from the Tornquist family that owns the GM dealership? Golly, we sure had a few close matches and a gas of a time afterward!

A thread that addresses golf cart etiquette is one that assumes that it's ok to take a cart in the first place. Sure, there are those gimpy ones who need a cart. OK, let them ride and then get out to hop over to their ball. For the rest of the 99.9% of the population that takes carts, they have no excuse. There is no reason they can't walk. The game is so much more enjoyable walking. Of course, the one thing that none of these lazy golf cart takers will admit to is the damage to the course. Golf carts destroy golf courses and ruin it for everyone. You see damage from the idiot golf cart drivers all over the place. Around the greens, around the tee and all throughout the course. Golf cart tracks and mud are always around the tee boxes and greens. These morons can't even follow the golf cart signs because they are too lazy to walk 50 feet. It's always amusing to watch the group in front of you who are taking two golf carts. They drive around in circles looking for balls, take forever to put their clubs back into their bags and think they are cool listening to their choice of music as loud as they can. I get it. You are lazy and want to use a golf cart. At least admit what you are. OK, I shall rephrase. Limp it off.

Walk it off It's the cart and the cart rider that are the problem. Both need to go. I hope you start walking and stop being part of the problem with laziness in our society. Time to step it up.

I'm in great shape for my age so I have no problem walking 18 or even 36 if it isn't too hot out. I often get looks by the cart babe, checking me out. Unfortunately for her I don't date the help. I just go out, walk 18 and shoot a smooth 73 or 72. I walk into the snack shack and my BLT is ready for me. That's just the way I roll.

I always walk. I don't understand the lazy fat bodies who take carts and drive around in circles looking for their ball. Using a golf cart slows the game down, no question. When I'm walking and others are taking golf carts, I find that I always get to my ball first and that I'm always the first person on the green. Most of the people who take golf carts are probably lazy in everything else they do and generally out of shape. If it were up to me there would be no golf carts and no golf cart paths. If you have a handicap that prevents you from walking then take up lawn jarts.

You're welcome! I just go out to the course and play well whether I practice or not. I don't know if I've told you this before but I've won our club championship more than once. One of the cool things about that is getting the coveted club champion parking space. Not to mention that admiration of the members and staff. Tiny, the nickname of one of our rather rotund groundskeepers, is always calling me "Champ" or "Boss". He'll say "Hey Boss, you gonna' tee it up today and take their money?". Then he'll let out that big belly laugh and just walk back into the maintenance shed. I get a kick out of old Tiny.

I have found that I don't really need to practice. I shoot mid 70's whether I practice or not. Many times I'll just walk out to the first tee, do a little stretching and then just hit it straight down the middle. That's what I do on my first shot on the range so why not just do it on the golf course. Same with putting. It's not like I don't know how to putt or am so lame that I can't figure out how a putt breaks. If you really think about it, practice and range time before a round probably does more damage than good. I find that I play best when I do neither. I've won several club championships and many other important events so I know what I'm talking about.

I joined this forum for the same reason that I've joined others. It's not everyday that people get to meet a club champion. I've won my club's club championship 5 times now and I don't see that ending anytime soon. Most people who are on forums don't really understand good golf or how to play the game. That's where I come in. I'm here to mentor and lead by example.

I've read through all of the comments and shall reply here. I have played the Mizuno MP-60, MP-30, MP-32 and MP-33. The problem I have found with the MP line of irons from Mizuno is that the ball flight is too high. I have found this especially true with the MP-60 and MP-30. This was both with S300 and Project X 6.0. I don't find the high ball flight to be true with the Tzoid Pro II irons at all. What I've experienced is a nice, penetrating ball flight that has the perfect trajectory and a very pleasing feel. For some reason the MP-60 faces feel almost too soft and a bit mushy for my taste. That is all.

I drift anywhere between a 3 and 5 handicap. I've tested and played many an iron and I'd argue that I'm one of the most astute testers out there. I play at a well-established country club 3x per week and my iron game is arguably the best at the club. This would explain why I've won the club championship several times. Allow me to digress. On a whim, I saw these irons on Ebay as I'd been looking for my old go-to irons of the past, the Mizuno Tzoid Pro II irons. Previously, I had gamed this set with Dynamic Gold R300 shafts but this time I thought I'd throw the baby out with the bath water and try something new. To my astonishment, these irons are pure bliss! Solid shots feel wonderful and have that sublime forged feel that only a Mizuno can produce. I was throwing darts all day. Other club members were looking on with astonishment as ever iron was like a guided laser at the hole. Birdie, birdie, par, birdie, etc. It just kept happening. If you can procure a set, I strongly recommend.

I think it would more appropriate to say that Rory hasn't lived up to his potential at all. After 2014, I thought he would dominate. For a top rated player, I have never seen anyone worse at hitting shots from 100 yards out. He's absolutely horrible at that shot and is the most frustrating player to watch, because he constantly throws shots away. He does it on the putting green as well. He'll have a 15 foot putt and hit it 6 feet past the hole. Rory should have 3 more majors by now. At a minimum.

It isn't fake and the site line wasn't drawn on. That's exactly how the original club looks. The club has been used without a cover so it has wear. I can't believe some of you thought the site line was drawn when clearly it's engraved into the metal. I had this putter and that's exactly how it appears. It's real.

I only play at private clubs.

I have belonged to a country club for over 20 years. I have won the club championship several times. We have automatic tee times on Fri, Sat and Sun and we have a big skins game. The club championship trophy sits in a glass case near the entrance to the club. I also have my own club champion parking space. There is nothing better than belonging to a country club where everyone knows you are the club champ.

I'm simply sharing some of my golf achievements and great matches over the years. In some ways my accomplishment of winning 5 club championships is greater than Koepka. Sure, he's won 4 majors but all at different courses.

Whether it be stairs or stare...the effect is the same....it makes people slip and fall. There is nothing more satisfying than being 2 or 3 down in match play and then coming back and beating your opponent. One of my most amazing victories happened in a similar fashion. I was 3 down to William Tornquist heading into the 15th hole...a devilish 200 yarder over a large hourglass-shaped lake. Willy hit his shot to the top portion of the green whilst the flag was in front. He gave a little fist pump and smirked at me. I gave him my icy stare and he looked a little shell shocked. I then proceeded to hit one of my best shots of the day, 10 feet from the hole. William 2-putted but I knocked mine in. On the next tee, William said to me "nice shot, Champ". I simply gave him a receptive nod. I beat him the rest of the way in and won my 4th club championship. William has never been the same after that match. He finds it hard to even sit at the same table. He knows I own him.

I'm in very good shape for my age. I doubt there is anyone else in their mid 40's with washboard abs like me. I do a regular routine of ab exercises at the gym. I wear a form-fitting Nike shirt that accentuates my physique. Of course, being physically fit has helped me win numerous golf tournaments and accolades. People call me "Champ" at my club. I just feel that Dustin kind of gave it up at the end. He could have won.

I don't appreciate that. I've contributed to very few threads on this fine forum. The first was about the benefits of Ping Eye 2 irons and now I'm talking about the PGA Championship. I fail to see how that is disingenuous. I'm a Club Champion and once played to a scratch. I doubt if there is anyone on this forum who could beat me at a tough course. I have to warn you, though. I'm a player. Even if I'm down 3 holes you aren't in the clear. I bear down, put on the icy stair and there are few men who do not fall apart.

As a 5-time club champion, I understand what it takes to win. Yes, you can absolutely give it away even if you are not in the lead. Dustin had the momentum and was closing in on Koepka, who's balls were in his throat. All Dustin had to do is avoid bogey and he would have won. I know this to be true. I see things in the game that others do not. Our head greenskeeper is named Tiny. He's anything but Tiny. He's probably 450 lbs on a good day. Nevertheless, Tiny has always said to me "Champ, I notice that you play a different game. What's your secret?". I reply "Tiny, it's the ice cold stare".

You don't have to be in the lead to give it away. Trust me, I've been in the lead at several tournaments and I knew what the players behind me were doing. One time Bart was making a fiery comeback and on the 17th green I looked over at him and gave him what I call "the ice stare". He proceeded to hit it in the woods. Similar with Dustin. He got to within 2 strokes of the lead and Koepka was faltering....fast. He gave it up by bogeying the last 2 holes. Do you understand now?
