  1. i actually just tried out both, but only off a mat, it was the tm 54* and a cleveland cg12 dsg 54*. The tm felt heavier and had a softer face i think but the cleveland definately spun more. I was taking mega chunks of cover off with the cleveland and none at all with the TM. i personally am going with the cleveland's because i have played them for forever and i have a flat swing so any extra spin i can get is great. -matt
  2. no one has one of these?
  3. i love mine, very forgiving for a blade. i dont really work the ball that much but i do play with my trajectory and they respond well. soft as any forged iron i have ever hit but with good feedback on the misses, not like mizzy and titty who obviously dont play golf in the winter. all in all i love them. the only diff as noted before was the tour model has ferruls and a polished head. other than that exactly the same. -matt
  4. Anyone playing one of these? if so what is your opinion. we sell them at work and i cant seem to miss with the 2 bar hybrid. nice putter in my opinion. i just haven't hit it on real grass. -matt
  5. i went with the s59, but i've hit the 58's very nice sticks -matt
  6. anyway, apart from our childish argument, if i were you i would either tip trim the shaft you have now or find a heavier shaft, and dependeding on your ball flight also one with a higher kick point. also look into torque, lower torque shafts also feel more stable. -matt ok i'm done arguing your obvisiously as hard headed as i am
  7. please read "Because all shafts are larger at the grip end and taper down to be smaller at the head end, that means the tip end is the weakest side and the grip end is the strongest side of the shaft. Therefore, cutting more of the tip will have the effect of getting rid of some of the weaker end of the shaft which, in turn, makes the shaft play and feel more stiff. Cutting more of the grip end will still stiffen the shaft a little bit, but only because in doing so you make the shaft shorter, and not nearly as much as when trimming more from the tip end." only reason its stiffer is because it's shorter and 6 cpm is nothing tiger would even notice, i know about those also. its called a frequency test. you cannot get accurate knowledge by reading out of context. -matt
  8. just for the record you are wrong. butt trimming makes a shaft flex weaker. tip trimming makes it stiffer. do some research please. http://golf.about.com/od/faqs/f/trimming_effect.htm -matt
  9. weight and torque have more to do with a shafts flex than the stiffness of the tip. i would be more worried about getting a heavier shaft than anything else. a guy i play with had a aldila green 85-x in his driver and it was the best feeling i ever felt. i also have about 106-107mph club head speed, so not quite at an x-flex by the standards of it but it would work great for me. also if you are looking for more consistency the easiest thing to do is tip the shaft you have now. it will make it shorter and stiffer at the same time. dont butt trim it though because it will make the tip even weaker. -matt
  10. does anyone know what lind of factory finish is on it? -matt
  11. i liked the karsten series better -matt
  12. I bought this putter some months ago and love the feel of it but i want to do something that makes itt different like possibly refinishing it in either black oxide or gun blue. i wawnt something i can do at home. also there is a medallion insert in the back of the putter head that can be easily taped up but dont know if it will take the heat required to blue something. any suggestions would be great. -matt
  13. putting oil on the clubface will reduce spin i dont care how microscopic the layer is. it doesn't matter if its a wedge or a driver it will affect the playability. if its a forged iron, yes it will rust, you should have known that when you bought them. next time by cast they are usually made of stainless. besides you cant feel the diff between cast and forged anyway. -matt
  14. i would try the 10.5 with the prolaunch red. it will give you a slightly higher ball flight but with less spin. That TFC can really spin the ball. you'd be suprised how much more distance you get by launching high with low spin. but as dent said it is easier to control a lower ball flight. -matt
  15. so what exactly did they do at wherever you got fitted that a place like golf galaxy wouldn't do? can you go more in depth about the process you got fitted? -matt
  16. geneva farms and the wetlands are both really nice courses, and gunpowder is probally in the best shape ever, i shot a 71 down there last week. also look for rocky point and diamond ridge. both really nice county courses -matt
  17. top flite gamer for 19.99 is a really nice 3 piece all around golf ball
  18. personally i replace the ball after one round. I have an awesome streak going right now of 9 rounds in a row without losing a golf ball. coincidentally that was the same time i pulled the driver out of my bag and have been using woods or irons off the tee. -matt
  19. is this for us market pings or asia spec clubs. they are usually different -matt
  20. well, if you were hitting them all over the face, the reason he got you +.5 is because when you swing is correct that will be best for you. its really hard to fit someone that doesn't make the same swing everytime. thats why when you go to diferent people they recomend different things. i dont recomend anyone getting fit for irons they currently own unless they can make good swings(atleast consist ones) over and over again. But at golf galaxy they are free with any new iron purchase, so its not like you paid for it. -matt p.s. online fit charts are for entertainment purposes only, they mean absolutey nothing. please dont confuse a static fit w/a dynamic one. they ususally do not match up.
  21. what makes you say that, we the AP1, AP2, ZM, and ZB's in.
  22. the big bertha's are going to be more forgiving -matt
  23. we just got these in at my store and i didn't care for the way they felt. they are gorgeous but i like the 695cb as my fave tity iron
  24. i work at golf galaxy and watch people hit balls all the time, and everyone seems to like the g10's better than the callaway's and taylor's -matt
