What Driver To Get To Hit It Long
McShank replied to samtheman's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I hit this driver after drinking one of those 6 hour power energy shots that the jersey shore girls endorse and the department of homeland security was at my course in minutes wanting to know who was performing unauthorized nuclear demolition testing. I drive green on all of the par 5's with this driver. I've also been hired by the Navy to hit Nike Mojo's at Somalian pirates to cause mass casualties. -
Loud Mouth Golf Pants

i plan on buying a few pairs just because they're awesome. "If I wore pants like that I'd kick my own ass." - Happy Gilmore -
a buddy of mine who has a lower handicap than i was playing the ad's and couldn't generate any spin at all. He had quite a few errant drives as well. I played a round with trispeed tours a few days ago and I felt like my drives were staying straighter and even put some good spin on the ball. Sports Authority has em for 20 bucks right now, i may need to stock up!

I can't speak for the G20 but I have hit the R11 and Razr Hawk and I didn't care for the R11 at all. My drives have significantly increased with the razr hawk, not only longer but I'm hitting more fairways too.

Do you grip too tight or have hand problems?
McShank replied to LeviTee's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm 22 years old and learning the game, tend to grip a little too tight and fade to right. I have wrist and forearm pains and some arthritis from 8 years of football. I would really be interested in trying this glove to see if it can help me, mostly with the pains I feel in my wrist and hand. -
Picked up a half dozen of these for 20 bucks at sports authority and WOW. I really liked playing this ball, it flies well off the driver but is nice and controllable around the greens. Overall I really enjoy this ball and I am going to take advantage of the clearance deals while they last, after that I may have to try the Q-Star... I holed in a par from the sand today with a tri speed tour as well. As for putting I was lights out inside of 6 feet with this ball. It is really smooth off the putter face, much better on the green than the e6 for sure. As for off the tee I liked it as much as the Nike 20XI-S. I would definitely reccomend taking advantage of the deal at sports authority on these things right now!

that sounds like a good deal to me, i would go look at them. ask if the seller could meet you at a local driving range to hit the clubs and see how you like them.

most overrated clubs/brands? most underrated?
McShank replied to dmband8985's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i could go buy a scotty right night if i wanted one, thats not the point. I've used them, liked the odyssey better. it's all a matter of preference. which is really all this thread is, one big thread of opinions bouncing off eachother, it's one of the largest pissing contests known to man. So let's just leave it at to each his own... -

I'm sorry but you will NEVER convince me that putter that costs as much as a set of irons is worth it. NEVER. I got the odyssey on a hook up at sports authority so why not buy it if the price is good? -
My review of the Nike 20XI-S
McShank replied to McShank's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
oh my score was terrible, but when i the ball striking was good it seemed like ball went where i wanted it, or did what i wanted it to do. I know how to put a draw on the ball and what not, im learning short chip shots, but overall I have a LOT to work on. -

My review of the Nike 20XI-S
McShank replied to McShank's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I do have a hookup at Sports Authority I can get them 25 percent off, but even at that I don't know that they are 20 dollars better than the e6. Overall the e6 is a solid performer. -
When I first got my 20XI-S' I was doubting them to be worth their high price tag in comparison to a PRO V1. I'm a HUGE fan of the Bridgestone E6 (dual dimple) so I tried to play them both side by side today as best as possible. We played at http://www.trinitasgolf.com and it was my first day with the Callaway Razr Hawk 9.5* Stiff Aldila Rip Shaft. I was a little worried how I would do off the tee as I am a higher handicap and I was using a new ball and new driver. The hole we opened on was a 435 yard par 4. The fairway was split about 3/4 of the way down, with an elevated green. I addressed the ball and gave it a good rip. CRUSHED. I had never hit a ball so far or so straight in my life. It came to a stop past the fairway in the second cut in line with the 100 yd marker. 335 YARDS OFF THE TEE?!?!?! Distance, CHECK. I noticed throughout the day that ball did what you wanted it to do. When I wanted to hit a draw, it drew. When I wanted it to stop and plug the green, it did. When I wanted to bump and close to the hole, it did. I REALLY like this ball, but the E6 played very well, too. I think that for my budget I will play the E6 but I will definitely treat myself to a box of 20XI-S' every chance I get. And for comparison, I found a pro v1x on the course, it didn't come off the driver nearly as hot as the 20XI. So for me the 20XI is a great performer. I give it a 9 out of 10. I would give it a ten if it was 10 dollars cheaper per dozen!

Used the Razr hawk 9.5* w/ aldila rip stiff today for the first time on a course and not at the range or on a monitor... DAMN! Love this driver, my confidence level went way up on the tee box! I wish I could play an 18 hole course consisting off all par 5s so I could use it every hole!

most overrated clubs/brands? most underrated?
McShank replied to dmband8985's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Here's what I'm saying, a putter that costs as much as a set of irons is a bit ridiculous. I have putted in for plenty of pars and even a birdie or two with a $15 dunlop putter from BIG 5. Scotty putters are cool looking, I've used a few of them and they are nice putters and all... But they aren't worth the money. For a good quality putter there are plenty other options that won't break the bank like a scotty does. What irritates me is that a lot of people that have one think they are the end all be all of putters. THEY AREN'T. They are pretty much a designer item just like True Religion jeans. They cost 300 bucks but still cover your nut sack like levi's, they just look a little cooler. -

The idea sounds crazy to you because you have justified that purchase and in your opinion it was worth the price. But I see a lot of people that 4 putt and have Scotty's. I don't live or die by my insert in the odyssey, but it does work great for me. I'm with you on your point about the driver, while it is a necessary club the idea that it is the most important in the bag is a little crazy.
