  1. did you get club fitted? what flex are your shafts for your driver and 3 wood?
  2. Thanks Iacas for bringing that up. i didn't know about it. very useful. a trip to the pro shop for a replacement at the cost of whoever broke it.
  3. before you say go google it. go try it. me and my friend googled it for like 20 mins and nothing would come up. so thats why i came here cause i thought i could get a answer but not some kids stupid little rant. you know there were people who replied with suitable answers and i thank them for that. but i will not sit and take crap from some kid....
  4. don't mind IOWA he's just mad cause him and his dad's photo was leaked on the web... BTW: there are some real a-holes in this forum. i defend a post i made for a friend and get ragged on by these little kids. and when i respond they get all defensive and say i'm the one bent out of shape. he's a disclaimer for you guys. DON'T TALK THE :POO: IF YOU CAN TAKE IT. i'm tired of dealing with little pubescent kids who flex their e-muscles. Steel : its your clubs so you can do whatever you want. you don't have to let any use or borrow anything. if he can't accept that, maybe its time to talk to him about it. cause a real friend should respect your decision (even if he doesn't agree).
  5. thats cool. you and your dad are the
  6. whatever man, i'm done w/ you, i got my answer....
  7. no i'd rather be confrontational to people who obviously are being douches. re-read what he wrote, to see if i jumped overboard and i still would smack him w/ my 3rd leg.
  8. sorry to burst your bubble but that is also a penalty. i came across that when trying to find the no kicking the ball rule. its considered a push.
  9. i had a somewhat similar problem. for a week or two i was shanking everything. just work through it. maybe take a little break. i'm sure it'll come back to you.
  10. no. i'm 26. sorry if i offend you but i don't really have that high of patience for people who need to think before they type. i don't get why he is talking all this smack and directing it to me. is it my fault my friend wanted the actual rule? yea, my friend's question is kind of ridiculous to ask but i think he deserves the answer he wants. so thats why i asked cause i thought there were people in here that would respect that right and give me a straight answer. but of course the occasional douche gives his smart ass answer, i think i have a right to blow up on him.
  11. thank you everyone who helped out w/ you replies. hopefully i can get a chance to go out on the field and get some practice in.
  12. wow...READ THE POST DUMBASS..... I GUESS THATS JUST TOO HARD FOR YOU. ITS NOT MY QUESTION YOU ILLITERATE KID. words aren't good enough, you need evidence. like you think you have a handicap of 7.... i will believe it when i see you shoot it or have someone who can witness to seeing it... same " like i said, it wasn't my question. he was asking yesterday and we couldn't find any ruling on it " if i knew where you lived, i swear would slap you w/ my 3rd leg.....
  13. this was probably 2 years ago. i was about a 20 something handicap at the time. 1 round i hit a tree on every par 5 and half of the par 4s. but nature was w/ me, the ball would kick back out and on the fairway. i almost over hit one hole but was saved by an overhanging branch, which dropped the ball 3 ft from the cup. i ended up shooting +19. that was the weirdest round of golf ever in my life.
  14. lucky you man, enjoy it. a great course w/ a great partner, your dad. hope you guys shoot well...
  15. letting a friend hit your clubs is all up to you. if you don't want them to hit them, then say no. personally i really don't mind. its not like we're playing in a tournament. if he hits better w/ them then you, oh well. no reason to get discouraged by that. if i let a friend hit my clubs and he smoked me on every shot. i would be just more encouraged to do better. only policy i have is: you break it, you buy it.
  16. like i said, it wasn't my question. he was asking yesterday and we couldn't find any ruling on it... i'm sure he was messing around when he asked. it came up when he kicked the ball in from 30 ft on a practice putting green. i told him that he wasn't allowed to but couldn't find the actual rule to prove it. thanks for those who answered the question... hey shorty.... grow up... toaster oven? really.... wow... he doesn't cheat. he's just goofy like that. like a 15yr old stuck in a 24yr old's body... he thinks he's able to put better w/ his foot...
  17. my friend wanted to know if he was allowed to put with his foot.... don't ask why he was to do so but we couldn't find any rule against intentionally kicking the ball. anyone have factual evidence(references)?
  18. hold the club like your holding a baby bird.... hard enough so it doesn't fly away but light enough so you don't kill it...
  19. yea i play basketball like 1-2 times a week but we play a lot of hours (all day on sunday). i really think its been helping a lot w/ my golf game. but i really think if i put in some time on the weights i could increase my yardage. i think the best way to improve isn't just going to the range but studying more about how shots are made.if you go to the range you should know why your shots go the way they do. for example a shot blocked right with a slice at the end, means your swinging in to out w/ a open club face. once you can understand this, you can easily figure out what you need to change. i've recently started shaping my shots and striking my irons very well. its pointless going to the range and just watching balls fly all over the place, if anything it will frustrate you more....
  20. commenting on betting during a match, i think its a good thing. doesn't have to be for money (i.e. dinner, beer, or even cleaning clubs). when you bet on a round, you have to keep score (for those who tend to not count all their strokes ) it also helps keep things competitive and makes you focus more on each shot. but usually when i play against lower skilled friends, i usually will add strokes to keep its competitive, i tend to lose focus.... i need to find some low handicap partners....
  21. In my opinion. i think if you can score scratch up to a + 14,you have the skills to score under par. you just need the consistency to get it. tiger woods said "practice makes permanent". its like how basketball players practice shooting, they practice to get the feel/rhythm. its brings up the % of consistency. but on a perfect day w/ perfect conditions (game speed), you have a chance to score in the minuses. so practice does make the difference but its not how much you practice its how you practice that will show results.
  22. if you haven't had a chance to try this, i really recommend that you do. i live in koreatown in los angeles. prices around here range from 9.99 - 14.99. anyone need any recommendations in los angeles just let me know...
  23. i recently stopped playing anything golf related for about 4-5 months (weather and lack of partners) but have been playing basketball 2-3 times a week (logged in est. 8-12 hrs a week). i run pretty much every game and play aggressive defense. when i came back to playing golf, my putting was a bit off but I've been hitting the ball really well. my first game back i hit 2 drives both a little over 300 at Brookside in Pasadena course 1. i really think that running all those games helped me w/ my golf game. my cousin, who is really in the athletics, tells me that its possibly cause I've been gaining core muscle strength and stability. It's been much easier keeping my lower body more precise on weight transferring to my front foot in my swing but also a lot more stable. I've been able to keep my body from dipping and over swinging as well. I mean basketball might not be the reason but i'm glad that i took the break off. Now i feel pumped to play a lot more rounds this year and shoot hoops lights out... i would recommend playing some 5v5 or 4v4 basketball. ( full court is best but half court is fine)
  24. well as for having active hands on the take away, i believe he means your leading with the hands rather than shoulders. i think of the beginning of the take away similar to the take away of a putt... i could be totally wrong but it works for me.
  25. if you have the golf channel. try and check out the hank haney project: charles barkley. sir charles also has a head dip issue. maybe you can get a fix from one of the best....
