  1. Take into consideration elevation changes, wind, spin etc. I HIGHLY doubt you have that big of a change in distance between your 7 and 8. Do the math, literally, and you will see that your clubs should be consistently spaced in yardage. Also take into consideration consistency....do you have trouble with your 8? Did you hit your 8 fat, thin? As for the 160 yard shot...have to play the shot. It's not all about, "gage the distance and fire away." Downhill, uphill, sloping green? Would it be better to come up short (perhaps par is all that is necassary) or long?
  2. My driver is unfortunately offset so I open my driver up. I put the ball a little bit more towards the center (I do for all my clubs, 7iron and below). I also have to have my hands lag a little behind on the downswing so that as I come through the club face is just a little open of square.
  3. No, you shouldn't change your grip for any club. The only thing that should stand is where the club is relative to your stance.... Personally, my grips don't have the little thumb marks to recommend where to put your hands, but I always line my left thumb where the shaft meets the club face (if that makes sense).
  4. Umm a wet towel? I really would like to see a divot make it hard enough that a wet towel cannot clean your club...
  5. I'm not 6', like 5'10-11, and I used to keep my feet wide. I recently switched as I tended to pop drives up and lose distance. Right now I'm using shoulder length, maybe a little less. I don't pop up my drives and lose my balance less on wedges.
  6. Ya, at my course it's all old guys and women with 25+ handicaps... If I want to get 18 in and not be extremely tired, I pass when I get the chance. I'll only wait if there are groups in front of them but as soon as I see a gap, I'm in there.
  7. 3-PW. Love my three iron.
  8. YES! I hate my home course for getting rid of their range. I went out today to another course and did my practice day. It took me two tokens worth of balls and hitting my driver/wedges to finally hit my 2 iron correctly. It really sucks when you are 5 over after 5 when you don't play like that when you're hot...
  9. Lol, I think it's funny. I used to caddy at the country club near my house and there were a LOT of rich people there. And they were always buying new clubs.
  10. Actually for me it does matter. I carry three wedges: the PW and SW from my iron set, and another PW that I have for around the green chipping. THis PW has a smaller, shorter grip than my other clubs; it helps me mentally. I feel like I have more control with this club than my other clubs.
  11. "I work on everything when lifting - and I can see the results - I've added a hundred yards to my drives this year." Ya lol, were you driving like 150 yards....?
  12. Well, the clubface is somewhat related to the swing plane. Like someone else already confirmed, he came inside on that swing. For some reason it had a draw, but usually that will slice. Easy correction for out-to-in swing: head down and wait to turn your shoulders until your thighs thrust out.
  13. ^Ya, that used to happen to me. Now, I can't remember the last time I pushed an iron (Driver is a whole other story with me). If I send the ball far to the right it's because I was too close to the ball and didin't follow through. My hips then turn way to the left (to allow the club to come down) and my wrists just turn right over...usually ends up being a nice hook.
  14. Looked good to me. I would have to ask the former question, "where do you miss usually?" I couldn't see your clubhead on impact, but if it's to the right, that's an easy correction.
