  1. Where do you play?
  2. Interesting thread. We love our Shiba Inu. Great dog...not too small nor too big.
  3. I have the SQ Tour (non SUMO) and love it. Traditional look (no huge power bow hanging out), long, and accurate. The SUMO must be incrediblely forgiving.
  4. Why not try a combo set? Maybe combine your 23's and 32's. I've been checking out new irons, but am starting to think about keeping my MP-60's PW-7 and try a combo with the MP-57's or MX-25's in the 6-3 or 4.
  5. I play a lower "punch" shot from 70-80 yrds out with my 52*. Works very nicely and stops quickly. I find it easier to control more than lofting it up there.
  6. I've also been demoing a bunch of irons lately (Raptures, G10, i5, MX-25, X-20, i-701) and the MX-25 and Srixon i-701's are battling it out for a spot in my bag. I've noticed that there isn't too much variation in all the irons I've hit regarding bad swings. To me if you have a decent swing, then a bad swing is a bad swing with most irons. Play what you find most comforatable. Regarding the Pings I noticed that the G5 and i5 fit between the i10 and G10. The i10 moved more towards a "players" club and the G10 moved towards super game improvement (basically Raptures without the titanium face). I liked the i5's the best and was surprised that the long irons were much easier to hit than they look. The MX-25's were softer than I thought they'd feel (coming from MP-60's). Their heads are also bigger than I thought they'd be, but still feel really nice with the added forgiveness over the MP-60 that I'm looking for. Think they'd be much better for me with S300 in them instead of the stock dynalites. The i-701's are forgiving w/ smaller heads (think thicker players club), but don't really feel as good as the MX-25's. I'm going to keep playing each and we'll see over a couple more weeks.
  7. Hit them for yourself if you can. The i10's are smaller and less forgiving than the i5's. To me Ping really went to the extreme in the 10 line vs the 5 line. The i10's have moved much more towards a "players" club with smaller/thinner heads and less offset vs the i5's. The G10's moved more towards super GI vs the G5. The G10's are now the Raptures without the titanium face.
  8. You could give the Snake Eyes 600B a try. They are cheap, of good quality and custom, so you can buy only the clubs you need. http://www.golfsmith.com/products/SE2660
  9. the i-701 and MX-25 look like they'd be similar. How would you compare the 2?
  10. I just got a Bettinardi C-02 and love it. Could just be the fact that it's more expensive, but it definitely feels better than a $20 putter. I've tested a bunch and this thing is solid w/ a great feel. Took it out for my round today and got the hang of it pretty quickly. I'm happy with it, and that's what matters to me.
  11. The titanium is supposed to make the ball hotter off the face, which is really more evident in the short irons as the ball jumps and is tougher to control. Obviously not an issue with a 2 iron, but I don't think it's worth the extra cash. I love my Nickent 3DX hybrid.
  12. Should be no difference. It just depends on how much that titanium face in the Rapture is worth to you. These 2 irons should definitely be easier to hit over other 2 irons, but if you hit a hybrid, then why not get a 2i hybrid instead?
  13. They both are the same except the Rapture has a "multi-metal" compound in the face. Basically a titanium face, which makes it very hot. The wedge is really tough to control since everything comes off so hot. I would say they're both super game improvement irons. Nothing wrong with that. They're both very easy to hit and "workable". Distance control is an issue though. Also, the G10 has the AWT (progessive weight) shafts, which may help. They also have progressive offsets, which are nice. You don't need huge amounts of offset in your lower irons.
  14. If anyone is looking for a deal, then checkout Discount Dan's: http://www.discountdansgolf.com/ Email them or give them a call for a price quote. I got a very nice quote on a new set of MP-57's, but didn't get them since I found a great deal on a very nice used set of MP-60's.
