  1. I still have mixed emotions about hybrids.. we'll see in 08.. workability i still depend highly on my 3i. However with my hybrid, I can close my eyes and hit it 230+ completely effortless.
  2. i remember when i started playing i would only hit my 3w on the golf course. However, at the range I would continue to practice my driver until i felt confident enough to take it to the course.. Early on i relied on the importance on practicing my driver routing to the point that I was able to take it to course with much success. I would still get the driver, get yourself properly fitted.. and you dont have to get today's latest and greatest, trust me, you probably wont even see much difference in distance if any. I think right now it would be a great time for you to buy since golf season is almost over. Remember work on that driver, build your confidence then take it to the course.
  3. Definitely going to be watching the event.. My pics Mahan/Stricker Scott/Ogilvy Mickelson/Austin Singh/Weir Cink/Johnson Sabbatini/Immelman Toms/Furyk Els/Cabrera Glover/Verplank Appleby/Goosen Woods/Howell Choi/O'Hern
  4. trying to drive a small 312yd par 4 late in the day. The drive went about 110yds into a bush on my right.. i had to get on my knees with a 3i to even reach the ball.. i got a pretty good swing under the circumstances to advance the ball about 60yds in the fairway.. i then took my 9i 142yds out and knock it 3" from the hole for an easy par.
  5. Like to add to the importance of this fundemental view point given above. Proper grip, stance and alignment is the key to a successful swing.. In other words this will take care of so many aspects of the swing without the beginner needing to think so much of the mechanical breakdown of the swing which will result to the common brain dump process alot of us do prior to executing a shot. As you advance, it will be easier to go through your mechanical aspect of the swing knowing already that your grip, stance and alignment is in check.
  6. I got the point.. trust me I did.. i just happened to call you out on it.. no big deal..
  7. cut it down to 43.5
  8. From what i've read, the stock shaft with mx500 has not been very pleasing to the consumer. After they have changed it to an after market brand it's worked out very well.. accurate and long, again from what i've read.
  9. are they both the same length? I'm not sure of the club swingweight on the Nike SQ but i believe it is a D3? and the Hibore XL is a D5 on red. You may want to check that out as well.. If that is the case, perhaps the heavier club is maintaining more of your swing plane and as a result is causing you to hook.. dont know, just a thought.
  10. Sorry to hear about your BAD EXPERIENCE! indoor golf lesson, well that explains why. What's your expectation of a being decent? Nah nevermind, i cant relate to your thought process. ******* To the person that started this thread.. As many others have stated get them to see a golf pro. Specially if they have any indication being athletic, they will pick it up right away. Have you ever taken lessons? if yes.. then you may want to share some of that experience...
  11. you're probably not going to out grow that putter.. You're only 15 and you'll probably going get stronger if anything else, so my guess is that down the line, based on technology and shaft flexibility you will look into upgrading one or the other. Chrismas is around the corner.... Get the Burner for christmas.
  12. sounds like a no brainer... if you can putt then you'll be in a good position for when the rest of your game catches up.
  13. So i guess guys like JD or Kevin Staddler get that core from somewhere else, cause they certainly hit it a ton, without abs. However having said that, you want to be physically fit regardless... you want strong abs to release preasure being put on your lower back.
  14. Sign me up! i have no problems hitting into really slow people that think they own the course. i've done it before, will do it again.. It's the only way they get the point....
  15. VJ is going through some changes with his swing... It appears he has alot of work still to get to the VJ of old, as demonstrated in the last 5-6 tournaments he has played..
