  1. 4 letters.....NICE!
  2. I'm in the cesspool of the South...Florida. It has its good points and several hundred bad points. I used to live in Colorado and I do miss the mountains, but there is something about the South I always missed (and it wasn't the Atlanta traffic).
  3. where in the "South" are you? I'm in the St. Pete area in FL. I did some touring too and played with a bunch of big names in the past, but I got to the point where I hated the music industry. I wanted to love music again so I left the BIZ and chased other dreams. I still do some recording though.
  4. It will be enjoyable, but unlike anything you have ever experienced before. Patience is a virtue I used to have and I am trying to reclaim it. You'll be tired for a long time, but the rewards are endless!
  5. I play guitar, bass, drums, a little piano, a little mandolin, a little clarinet and a bit of harmonica. i also sing. Music is foremost my passion and golf is now a close second.
  6. Congratulations! Are you ready for the ride?
  7. That's easy. Hands down....New Belgium Brewery: Fat Tire (an awesome amber)---I used to live in Colorado Unfortunately, you can't get it anywhere and it is nowhere to be found in the South. I think it has something to do with how they ship it.
  8. My wife and I are big wine lovers. Mostly, we drink Pinot and Shiraz, but I do love a good Chard or Reisling. We used to live in the Virginia mountains and there are some great vineyards around there. Linden was my favorite.
  9. Just a warning. People to spend more money when they use a debit card than with cash. It's easy to spend it when you don't see it leaving your wallet. I'd suggest staying with cash until you are older and have more experience walking around with "more" money (as you put it). just my two cents (no pun intended).
  10. that's an interesting idea, but i don't think we could afford that. my wife doesn't play and had no desire to do so. i'm trying to influence my girls and maybe/hopefully one of them will take a liking to golf and we can go out together in the future when they are a bit older. then, it will be daddy/daughter time and not just daddy going out golfing.
  11. 3 and 5. I can't with a good conscience go out more than once a month. I need to be there for my children. When I do go out, I try to go out at 7am in order to have minimal impact on my family's lives.
  12. I was just wondering for those folks out there with little kids, how often do you get out to play and how do you properly feed your desire to do so (and practice) when you can't? Has golf created a rift in your family life?
  13. Coffee or tea and how much/often...especially before playing a round?

    College Football

Go Gators! Class of 94'....has it been that long? ouch!
  15. Measly goals: Play at least once a month and consistently break 100. Gotta start somewhere.
  16. I'm not good. I never claimed to be. I botched my drive really bad. My second swing would be considered a horrible improvement from my drive. Deep in the woods I had a wonderful pitch right to the green a few feet from the hole where I was able to dump it in for an even 4 par. I felt a bit like Phil....just for a second though. My next hole quickly reminded me who I REALLY am.
  17. I've seen the movie and am considering reading the book. Has anybody done both? Any comments on the book vs. the movie? Is it worth spending the time on the book? Any other golf fiction anybody can recommend?
  18. When I used to live in Denver, the courses were open unless there was snow on them. Come on down to Florida for a fix.
  19. Call me, Bo. I've come back to the game after being gone for three years. I'm playing on clubs as old as me (35) and my average dropped from 126 to 103. I'm hoping to break that 100 hurdle real soon and say goodbye to it. I'm no good, but I've become completely obsessed with the game. I've discovered some kind of internal Zen feeling while playing. If anybody is in the St. Pete, FL, area and is interested in heading out, keep me in mind....that's if you just want to play...not compete (or if you want to make yourself feel good about your own game).
  20. 35 years young...not for long though.
  21. I have come back to the game for the third (and what I'd like to consider the last) time. At this point in my life, I feel that I'd like to keep golf as a regular part of it and do so until the day I can't walk anymore. Anyways, I am using my wife's grandfather's old clubs. They are in decent condition, but are definitely old. Real woods, a mixed bag of irons and a new putter that I just purchased. For those folks that have played for a long time. How long do you suggest I play on these old clubs? Money is an issue right now and I was considering replacing them one at a time (starting with the driver or the PW). I also probably will only be able to get out every 3-4 weeks max...I have two lil ones. Thanks in advance.
  22. I work for a financial software company based out of Denver, CO. However, I telecommute from West/Central Florida.
  23. I'm right there with you. I've come back to the game for the third and last time and all I can think about is my next outing. The Golf Channel is on all the time, I'm constantly reading about golf and I got a subscription to a golf magazine. I wonder at times if this might be an unhealthy obsession.
