  2. This is why I love the game of golf. One day you can play lights out and shoot the best round of your life. Then the very next day on the very same course, you can in turn shoot the worst round of your life. It's going to happen. I have had it happen several times. It's the way this game goes. When I was younger and just getting into golf, I used to get really pissed at myself, the course, the club, etc. I have learned, through a lot of practice and patience, that it only hurts my game and it can also affect the people playing with me. Take it all with a grain of salt and have fun. After all, that is why we play, right?????? Just my opinion.....
  3. +1 mith Mr3Wiggle. I experience this quite often where it will be 45 degrees on #1 tee box and by the time I finish up it is 75 or 80 degrees. Every vlub is considerably longer at the end of the day than it was on the first few holes. I am located in NE Nevada where there seems to be a 30-40 degree swing from the low to the high.
  4. PM sent to iacas for the alignment sticks. Thanks for providing us with a great website guys. I am glad to be a supporter for many years to come.
  5. I would like to apologize to my teammates for my lack of play the past 2 weeks. Have had some hectic days with work and family, but I'm back on track now. Sorry guys.
  6. This is one of my main goals for this season. Learn my game better and play the course to my game. Not make my game fit the course. I agree with everything that has been said above and have heard most of it several times. The hard part is actually sticking to it.
  7. Played in Boise last weekend. 40 on the front and a scary 47 on the back. Driver went to hell. Hit 3 in the water off the tee I was very pleased with my front nine though. Lots of room to improve, but still felt pretty good.
  8. Process Electrical and Instrumentation Trainer at a gold mine in NE Nevada. Plenty of time to look at the forum in my down time haha
  9. I love this thread. I am currently working on getting my shoulders turned down in my backswing. I haven't made too many full swings in the last couple of weeks due to this thread. I'm just going to the top and checking my shoulder position while maintaining my right elbow position tucked and close to the body. It's amazing how much you can see when you take a slow and specific approach to each and every part of the golf swing. Thanks guys.
  10. Played on Jan 1 with my son. A great way to start off the new year :)
  11. I will be signing up as soon as I get back to the computer. I'm really eager to use the "my swing" feature. Thanks guys
  12. Usually this time of the year I am in the same situation haha. Thanks to unseasonably warm weather this year, we are still golfing here (on winter greens). As far as the opener goes, I am surprised at the lack of players. Very small field. Should be intertesting to see who prevails...
  13. Played final round of 2011 yesterday and first round of 2012 today. Great time with my son!!
  14. Those videos really show how the ball comes off the face. I thought that the ball acted in this manner, but have never seen the proof. Now I have. Thanks.
  15. Just signed up. Never played fantasy golf before. Should be fun. Good luck to you all.
  16. My goals for 2012 are to: 1. Play consistent golf. 2. Play consistently in the low 80's 3. Lower handicap by 5 strokes, at least.
  17. Same here. I am going out this afternoon with my son. It's supposed to be 44 here today, so we are definitely taking advantage of it. Usually we have a foot or so of snow on the ground right now haha.
  18. I really try to work on iron shots and inside 125 yards. My driver is usually pretty straight, but my irons seem to fail me more than anything else. If I had to put percentages on it, I would say: 10% driving, 30% irons, 40% inside 125 yards, 10% around the green and 10% putting.
  19. I will definitely be one to use this. I always try to warm up with slow movements or variations of my swing, but never put much thought into it. Thanks for the excellent post.
  20. Currently I am working on getting into better "golf shape" with weights and cardio. Also working on my flexibility. Since I haven't played much in the last 2 years and plan on playing alot more this year, I have been taking advntage of the offseason with lots of dry swinging in the house. At least 100 swings a day with my 7 iron.
  21. I have heard several vriations on this subject. Most commonly slow down your swing or shorten your swing. The local pro that I used to play with, and take occasional lessons from, engrained in my head "Shorten your swing, never slow it down" If you change the tempo of your swing, you introduce the possibility of making other mistakes along the way.
  22. I just got in from playing 9 holes. It was 38 when we teed of. Not too bad since we walked and there was no wind. Anything less than that, or windy, would be pushing it.
  23. Hello everyone. New to the site, but not the sport. I've been golfing for about 12 years. got out of the sport for about 2 years due to working and moving a lot, but now I'm ready to get my handicap back down to where it was before. I look forward to all the advice and good info on this site.
