I have never had problems with UPS, although I have had stories. They usually just ring the doorbell, if no one is home, leave the package right by the front door. With Fedex, when you are not home, they go to your neighbors or down the street 'til they find someone there to hold your package for you, and leave you a note at which house it is at. Kind of awkward walking down the street and asking a neighbor whom I have never met for my package haha. USPS is awful, lost packages all the time, usually banged up, and unless you use their expedited, it takes two weeks for delivery. I ordered a book from Amazon and they used USPS, took like 12 days.

You can pay for it here http://cgi.ebay.com/Titleist-907-d4-...QQcmdZViewItem You can also get those prototype spin milled wedges for like $500, ebays wonderful. I'd probably play Driver: D2 3 Wood: 906f4 Irons: 2-PW MP67s Wedges: Those Scratch wedges in 54 and 60, when they're black and all clean they look so good. Although for $300 bucks a pop they should.. Putter: Scotty Newport 1.5 Except for the wedges, I bet someone almost plays this exact set up here haha.

Game Improvement clubs = Easier to shank?
Cizzle replied to JaY_B's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Not sure if this still applies to days, most blades/clubs back in the day had the sweet spot really close to the heel of the club. Most GI have them right in the middle and bigger for the player to hit. If the blades now a days still have that same sweetspot set up as they did in the past, I would think it would be easier to shank a blade than a GI. -
Probably too steep of a swing. But it could be your irons are too flat. How tall are you, generally if you are over 6' you need at least one degree upright (do not quote me on that). But you should definitely have your swing looked at before running off and getting your irons bent upright.

"good" swing yesterday, HORRIBLE swing today
Cizzle replied to TANK's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
When I first started lessons, my ball striking regressed. My swing looked much prettier, but believe me, shanks shanks and more shanks. You need to be patient, I have been there when I swore getting lessons was the worst thing. At one point, I left after the 14th hole because of how awful I was playing. I took a month off from playing rounds, and just practiced what I learned in lessons, and eventually not only got to the point where I started, have continued to improve non stop. Have faith in your instructor, it is a learning process. Stick with the lessons, and keep practicing what you learn, no matter what happens on the course/range. The worst thing you could do right now would be to go back to your old swing. It is much worse off for you, along with you wasted a bunch of time and money for lessons you're not even using. Good luck, he practicing, it'll come to you. P.S. Do not read swing advice or tips here, golf mags, or on the internet. Just practice what your instructor tells you. Most of the time, it counter acts what you're learning, and screws up your swing even more. Learned that the hard way -
Cleveland CG Gold - Anyone got them?
Cizzle replied to supah's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I had them in action flighted regulars. They are easy to hit, very forgiving, but to me they did not feel well at all though. With the shaft, extremely easy to get into the air. The topline was a bit thick, but not as bad as some other irons. The gold rubber vibration was not as bad/irritating to look at as they do in the pictures. Overall, very good irons, especially 20< handicap. But once I/you get down into the teens, I felt like I wanted something a little more workable, and something I can grow into for years to come. If you do not play alot, and just got started playing, I would recommend them, although I think there are better options. I have seen the irons brand new for just over $400-450 though, so the price is definitely right. On ebay you could probably get a set still in mint condition for around $300, so definitely great if you do not want to spend a lot of money for a game improvement iron. Anyways, I do think they cg4s would be a better option for someone looking to start playing seriously. Great iron, can last you a long time, and very cheap now since they have been out for sometime. Best of luck! -
Cobra Drivers. What do you think?

Cobra Drivers. What do you think?
Cizzle replied to andre112's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Loud. They're great drivers, long and forgiving. I have heard the stock shafts play whippy though . But wow, you can hear one from a mile away. -
Both my driver and 3 wood were bought used. Both looked like only 10 rounds were used on them, and spent about a third of what it cost retail! If you can find a well taken care of club for half the price, I'd suggest jumping on it. As always, be careful with ebay, fakes are everywhere these days.

I would say get fitted for some irons. Beware, if you go the route of the newest and greatest, you'll use of your whole card+some of that extra graduation money you receieve Best of luck!

Meh, I like my cg12s. But then again, I have only hit one other kind, the 588 dsg in 56. The difference in Black Pearl and Chrome is just color, the BP doesn't reflect sun at address I guess. But I have the chrome, and that doesn't happen, so it is just a preference. You should look at the newer cg12 dsgs they loook nice.

This is why I can not stand Tiger fans. When he wins, he's "the greatest ever!". When he loses, his game was not on, and whoever won got lucky. Everyone missed short putts. Flesch? Sneadeker(spelling). If anything, TIGER got lucky to finish 2nd with the way he played. Sorry, Immelman crushed the competition the first three rounds. He shot a 75 on Sunday and still won by 3! Because he played great the first 3 days, he could take it easy and play conservatively on Sunday and walk (literally ) to his victory. Tiger had the worry in his eyes, not immelman. Tiger came into Sunday 6 strokes back from the leader, and in 5th. He did not win because he was not the best in the field, sorry.

What's wrong with the MacGregors?
-
There was just some tip in Golf Mag about this. Get into your stance, and take a paperback book, stick it in inside your pants on your backside. Now make your swing, if you get more vertical, it'll fall down a little (if I remember correctly), and if you lean down, it'll push into your back, both ways letting you know if you did not keep your posture. I haven't tried it, but give it a shot. I hope I did not miss anything

Meh, the 585 is definitely not for everyone. I'd say

I use a Reg. shaft what would happen if I go Stiff?
Cizzle replied to Newbie_30+_HCP's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If this stiff is right for you, it will not feel as whippy and will feel great. Now, more likely, by getting a stiff shaft in your woods, it will feel very harsh and boardy, and you probably will not get the ball in the air as much as you should, which will cause distance loss. your shots will also most likely be a pushy slice, so if that is your normal shot already (expected for a 36) your shot will be even worse. So think twice about getting a stiff shaft for your 3 wood, it could render you useless and then you'd even lose more money than if you just spent a little extra on the reg. shaft :o Best of Luck! -
I was so disappointed I could not try one out. I needed a new putter (hated my old mallet) in early September, and since the 10 series had came out and I saw the new Karsten style putter on pinggolf.com, I went to Nevada Bob's to try one out. After seeing they did not have any, I asked around and apparently the new putters always come out a few months later than the irons (they had the i10s and g10s all in stock). I settled with the g5i, which I do not regret one bit, but I still wish I could have tried it out, especially for what about 40-50 bucks cheaper than the g5i series was?

When I went to lessons, this guy and I always showed up at the same time. I asked him how he liked his x-tours and he was in love. So if you can play them, I don't see there being a problem. Now, for a 250 yard drive, it seems that stiff could be appropriate. But you say you can only hit your 7 150 yards.. I'm sure we have different lofts, I think i5s have a 34 degree 7, but I can hit my 7 on average 160, and there is no way I could play the s300s. So I definitely think getting fitted would be great for your game, maybe get you down to scratch in a year or two. Best of luck!

Using 1988 (year I was born) to be the starting point where 100k was 100k (it's not, 1983 is, but we'll just use it), cpi = 116, cpi for starting 2008 is 212.5, so the new 100k after 20 years is 183,203, so roughly 185k is the new "100k".

roger didn't have a good day on capitol hill
Cizzle replied to ganjagolfer's topic in The Grill Room
It was pretty obvious it was true since the beginning, especially since Andy Pettitte came out and told the truth. I was horrified by the hearing though, these congressman treated both individuals terribly. Repeatably calling McNamee disgusting, drug dealer, etc was unacceptable. I believe the head guy actually apologized at the end for the others, which I respected. Overall, this whole thing is a joke, and in the end Clemens is going to jail (which is absurd) because of this whole fiasco. Hopefully it doesn't turn out like Oz when the basketball star has to go to prison... -
I believe there have been advancements in putters, but when it comes down to it, it truly is who's hands are holding the putter that determines whether it ends up in the cup. I believe anyone using a black odyssey or a redwood and can sink a 15 foot putt can make the same with this bad boy: Like everything else in golf though, mental game > physical. If having a $300 scotty makes you believe you can putt better than a used 15 yo putter, you will.

Thank you for clarifying osean. I'm intrigued now, look forward to trying this out.

Is this a tip to find your comfortable rhythm and know how fast you should swing, or an actual hitting tip? Because when doing that, you are throwing you body up, hence trying to scoop the ball up. This is the complete opposite of what you should be doing for your irons, and you should be hitting down all the way. When acting like throwing your club, your right shoulder is lower than the left, giving you a up feeling. Instead, you should have your left shoulder lower than the right. I could easily be way off, considering you're much of a better player than I, but I'm kind of confused. Elaborate?

Question about swing and clubs
Cizzle replied to Chilidipper's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Are you sure? I was always told a couple degrees too much up right puts a draw into play, and if you already play a draw you're most likely to hit a hook. Never heard of it sending the ball to the right. -
I have a friend who loves her r7s with the stock graphite, but then again she's 5'1" and is a little thing. Best of luck, have her just swing a few clubs until she finds one that fits. I've found women to not be even close to as picky as men are when we come to our clubs
