1. For anyone who was interested in what happened I did end up biting the bullet and have been really happy with the results. I have only played a few rounds with them (and haven't really had a lot of opportunities to golf at all for a while) but they are fantastic clubs. Nice high ball flight, and when they are struck right, you know it. I have been really happy with them, and they have been in my bag since purchasing them.
2. I will say that I hadn't even thought of my handicap being an issue but it certainly would be relevant. When I switched from my previous Mizuno set to the Nike set I was more likely to beat my playing partner who I usually tied so I guess the question of whether I am good enough to play these clubs is an important one to ask. The shafts are (I think) Dg s300 which is fine and dandy for me. The grips would certainly need to be replaced. I think even as a set of "maybe some day" clubs they could be a lot of fun.
3. I found a set of Mizuno MP33s for sale in a local pawn shop. A little dinged up and dirty but in overall not too bad shape. I have read a lot of the reviews and know of the clubs reputation and have owned a Mizunos in the past. I am currently rocking Nike covert 2.0s which I love, but I sometimes miss the feeling of playing a blade. The store is asking 70 bucks for the set including a beat up bag and some old woods. I feel like I might be able to sell the rest of the stuff for a few bucks. So I am asking, good deal yay or nay. Thoughts and opinions are most welcome!
4. If you had to wait 15 minutes for the two guys behind you to hit their drives and second shots, and they were gaining on you, then you must have been playing REALLY slowly.
5. First round of the year. Playing a par 3 course that I have played for many years. This is what was left for me on the longest hole on the course, a 215 yard hole. Pretty impressed with myself. :) And I sunk the putt!
6. Never thought of putting my putter in with my drivers, but that's a darn good idea. Going to try that out for my next round.
7. This thread really caught my eye because I am currently playing the MP68s, and love them, but also because the first set of clubs that I purchased with my own money (around 15 years ago) were a set of Haig Ultras, the irons Shorty used to illustrate a true blade. Loved them too. I feel that I am in the exact same boat as the OP, in that I might play better with a set of GI or SGI irons, but I just can't deal with super fat toplines, or offsets, hell I can't even hit hybrids. I love the game when I am playing my blades, and it makes me want to keep playing, and maybe (hopefully) keep getting better.
8. I don't have a drive, I live in an apartment. :(
9. My favorite parts of this thread is when the Warrior Golf reps argue with each other about the cost of shipping another manufacturers clubs.
10. I started the year playing proV1's, realized that I was not good enough for them (and too poor to afford them) and have been playing different balls for the rest of the season. I am playing the Nike PD Long balls, and actually play pretty well with them. I am always on the lookout for different, decently cheap balls.
11. I can drive my Honda Civic 140 mph, and I can prove it in Gran Turismo, which is a real driving simulator.
12. What if I don't like either? Does that make me a super-racist?
13. Patrick, don't forget about the Quote button underneath people's posts, so that we know which previous post you are referring to.
