  1. "Did you get caught in your g string on that one??" after leaving a putt short
  2. I play it!! and I love it, altough I wouldn't say it is the easiest club to hit... It's got a relatively small head compared to other fairway woods, so it can look a little intimedating when standing over the ball.
  3. Being a software developer myself, I have been tempted a few times to create my own golf stat tracker similar to what scorecard does. I'm glad I found this product before trying to create my own. Scorecard is a great piece of software, and has really opened my eyes to what parts of golf are currently lacking, and causing my recent bad form. I can see this really helping my game in the long run as I know where I can focus my practice.
  4. Get back to 4, and stay on it! Going out to 6 in the space of 4 months kinda sucks...
  5. I was in a similar situation last year. I had used a 975F 3 wood with an S300 shaft in it, and loved the boring ball flight that I got with it. Only problem was that it wasnt the easiest club to hit off the deck. So when I upgraded my driver to a 905R with stiff V2 shaft, I also got a 906F2 with a V2 shaft. I went with the heavier model, 85 grams, so it feels like a steel shaft, but performs like a graphite shaft. I hit this club probably 10 meters longer with a slightly higher ball flight. You would probably have a hard time finding a 3 wood with a steel shaft nowadays as well. Given that you have a driver with that shaft, I think it would be smart to go with the same in the 3 wood, the V2 shaft have similar characteristics to a steel shaft, so its not a huge difference between the two.
  6. Red strikethrough on one of the titleist logos, blue on the other. Never had a problem of getting mixed up with someone else...
  7. Accelaration is the key to a good golf swing. You have to accelerate through the impact zone on every shot, driver, irons, wedges, chips, putter, it doesn't matter. I was playing with a new member at our course once and he asked me for a tip, and thats what I said. He still thanks me for telling 6 months later...
  8. One of the best things about golf is that no matter how times you play a course/hole/shot the outcome is never the same. Of course it is good to play other courses, but I think playing the same course on a regular basis helps improve your game in the long run, as you aren't spending half the round trying to work out what the greens are like. And there is also the added benefit of meeting new people and playing in regular groups. Joining a club is more then just playing golf, but being involved within the club.
  9. I'm still on the same handicap I was at the start of the year (4.4 - 4.2 at the moment..), but I have learnt alot this year and feel that I my game has dramatically improved, both in swing and mental game...Still kind of sucks that the handicap hasn't really moved much this year except up/down/up/down...Oh wells..
  10. One of the many benefits of living in sunny Australia...there is no offseason!! However back to your question, I don't think there is one right answer, otherwise we would all be Tiger Woods. Probably a combination of both mental and physical would be the best option. I know people where I play that goto sports phycologists to help them improve their mental side. I'm not referring to people who want to go pro, but people off low teens to single figure handicaps. I don't think I could do it, I have trouble practicing for more then 30 minutes, which is about when the boredom kicks in. Although I must admit I am trying to improve this and make an effort to practice not only more, but more effectively...
  11. My best streak was last year, bogied the first then didnt have a bogey till 16. Was 6 under through those 14 holes. Damn shame I finished bogey, triple, birdie to finish 2 under...Still first round under par, but that triple still haunts me now...
  12. Whenever tiger has anything close to his A game, which usually just involves him sinking a few putts, no one can compete. If he had been in Jack's era i think he would've dominated even more due to technological limitations that existed then. Big headed drivers have meant even those that aren't great drivers can still compete with those that are, which wasn't the case with persimon drivers...
  13. Mine is http://www.kogarahgolfclub.com.au , not the best site on the web, but has a good members only area, which obviously i can't show anyone...
  14. Pretty much this same thing occurred in our A grade matchplay championships last year. On the 3rd tee someone noticed that his opponent had 15 clubs. The guy tried to do what he thought was the right thing, as it was an accident and they were friends, so he didn't call the penalty on him. After the round it was found out what had happened and both players were DQ'd from the championships because they had agreed to break the rules. Seemed harsh at the time, but the club had no choose as they are the rules...
