  1. It's your fault. Once you are on the green you have to mark your ball. Look at the guys this year at the wgc accenture match play champioship (or any other regular tournament). THE FIRST THING THEY DO ONCE THEY GET UP TO THE GREEN IS GO AHEAD AND MARK THEIR BALLS.
  2. I think that he will dow what sergio, adam scott, vijay, ernie etc have done so far: play both tours
  3. Congratulations dude. That is a "september to remeber" Last year I had a more or less december month like yours, I won everything, and ended up the year winning sort of a tour championship that we have here in Portugal by 10 strokes. I set all records those 2 days. But that I able to campare to your month
  4. with the 6 iron I can have a carry of 150 meters. Thats my standart. I can get it up to 165 meters if I have to, but I have no freaking control over thet like that
  5. ... the inability to do it in lower scores
  6. Thought this would be an interesting question. Mine is currently at 45 greens in a row. What about you?
  7. Putting, being a feel game (even though you have all that mechanical theories), cannot have a very strict practice routine. What I do is, when I'm alone, I'll grab 1 new Pro v1 and try and beat my personal best throughout 36 holes. My best score, so far is at -9, which isn't that good, because my problem is that I just cannot eliminate those pesky 3-putts. When I have a friend around, I just play those same 36 holes against the guy, weather it is stroke play or match-play. Sometimes we are around 6/7 guys, so we make a stroke play format and after 18 holes the last 2 guys are out of the tournament. I'm proud to say that I've never missed the cut, but the best I've done is a t-2 finish, 5 strokes behind the 1st place. Anyway, I think that this is the best way you have to improve putting. When you're playing in a mini tourney, your focus gears up. And it is very good to play against somebody that is better than you, cause it makes you want to beat that guy. Anyway, when I'm on the golf course, I always set this goal, no 3-putts. In August, even though my handicap didn't drop a stroke, I managed to only have (1) 3 putt green, and that was actually a par five that I hit in 2. My record of greens without 3 putts now stands at 45 greens. Not to shabby eh?
  8. I thinak that it was in the sigles match of jb holmas, that the european player (can't remember the name) missed the green and the crowd went crazy because of that. That's something that you should be kicked out of a golf course for. Especialy in the ryder cup.
  9. Easy, my putter. Even though I enjoy hitting 300 yrd drives down the fw, or making and impossible shot from an impossible lie, the thing I enjoy the most is hearing the ball hit the bottom of a cup. To me, there is no other sound has great has that in golf
  10. It's hard but possible. Tip: Practice (a hell of a lot) your short game
  11. At least you have 2/3 holes were something goes wrong. With me, right now, IF I MISS A SHOT I HAVE A GRANTED DOUBLE BOGEY! If I miss the green, and have a easy up and down, I can make a not-so-good bogey. Yesterday, I went out and even on uphill lies, my ball would nearly go in the hole, looks like it will stop, and actually only stops about 5 feet after. And that pisses me of because I know I'm doing everything right. I had my coach to check ou everything in my putting stroke/short game and he says that it isn't bad, needs a tiny bit of practice (it always needs more practice). I'm starting to think that for some reason, I need to play on faster greens (at my club they usually ruan at a 9/9.5)
  12. Golf need more guys like you, not those b!tchs that try to kill you with their golf balls
  13. I tryed to do #2 before, but no one would allow me to do so, saying that I'd be asked to leave the golf course. Once, actually twice, have someone done that to me. The first time was about 5 months ago. I was in the middle of my downswing and a ball just hits the ground, bounces and nearly hits me. I shanked my shot and hit the other ball in the process into a lake. The guy wanted me to give him a pro v1 saying that that was the ball that he had hit. I told him to go to hell. The second time was 2 months ago. We let a group passso we could search our balls. I was looking for their tee shots to see if we weren't in danger or something. All the sudden a bee comes out of nowhere, and since I'm alergic to bee stings, sent it away with my glove. When I turn a golf ball just passes 1/2 inch away from my right year. No one yelled fore or anything. That pissed me off. The guy came to me like nothing happened and asked me where the ball was. I nearly told him to pick his ball up and put it up him. But since it was in such a tough spot, I didn't care. He had a drop and layed up about 3 times before going into the green (and 3 putting it). Later that day I heard himsaying that he birdied that hole (par 5).
  14. Those used to screw my game up when I was a 20 handicapper, but since I started reading differently (I started analysing what I should or shouldn't do), that didn't influence me at all. It's good to try new things, but not things that can screw your swing
  15. I trying to be the best putter in the world from 3 meters and in (thats about 10 feet) I always play this game when I want to see if I improved. I pick 10/20 distances within 10 ft and place 10/20 balls over those distances. Try and make them all. The best score I've done was about 17/20, but My average is 11/20, which for what I want is not enough.
  16. I own you all... 17 on a par 3. (plus, I've got a 15 on a par 5 with 5 balls sent OB, and a 13 when I just couldn't do one, because I was in "contention" to make the cut at the national u18 champioship) Ok, here's the story: I hit a pretty good tee shot, but since the green was about 5 meters above my head, the ball pitched and came down the valley up against a fence. Here's the funny part, I wanted to call that ball unplayable, but no one would let me. Everybody said I had to hit it the way it was. Since, back then I was no rules expert (nor am I now, but I undertand them better), I tryed to play it. Here it goes: - "Fresh air", ball still lying in the same spot - Again the same as the previous - Hit the ball, but it came to rest on the same spot - Another "fresh air". Then I said that I was gonna take a drop. - My marker said I couldn't make any kind of drop so instead of telling me to put it back where it was, gives me 2 penalty shots (3 shots here) - Hit the ball, nearly holds on the green, and comes back to the fence. - Yet again, another "fresh air" (4th if you are counting) - hit the ball further down the valley and roles into a stream - Take the drop, hit the ball -> bunker - Out to about 5 meters to the pin - 4 putted The guy turns at me and asks, "Thats a 17 right?" to which I answer "Yeah, it must be" Later that round I hit the guy in the leg after the smart p*nk started walking down the fairway before I hit my second shot since my first was ob. I really hate that guy.
  17. I love golf becaus it is the hardest sport to play... ever. You can hit a soccer ball, a baseball, score 1000 goals, points etc, and you can keep on doing that without much practice. In golf it takes years to be able to play to an 18 hcp for most of the guys out there. Ask any famous sports star that plays golf.
  18. No, I've never done a hole in one... I've left many 1/2 inch away though
  19. Congrats!!! See, Iv've never done that, made the ball come 6 ft back...
  20. Prety lucky boy eh?
  21. At tournaments, 14 Pro v1's, or if I don't have has many, any other tour ball will do (Nike One Platinum, Callaway HX Tour 56/Tour ix, TM Tp Red, Maxfli Blackmax...). When parcticing I allways have the other balls like Nike Juice/PD soft, callaways, maxfli's inesis...
  22. I've broken... 5 clubs; 3 drivers, a 6 iron and a putter. For some reason a driver doesn't endure more than 1 1/2 years with me. The 6 iron was a pretty darn old one and the putter as actualy funny: me and my friend where puting on the putting green and it wasn't my time so I just stood there, and the shaft started benting, when I noticed it, it had already over bent and broke.I fell over the puitter and everybody started laughing
  23. Does a putting mat counts? A "true fake" putting green is too expensive
  24. I hate the beaches, but I couldn't stay 3/4 months without golf. I'd rather die
  25. I did it a couple of times: 1st it was about 2 years ago. I was playing in a national club championship, I hit my ball ob and said that I was gonna hit another one. One of my playing parters, after I said that, smartly started walking down the fairway. That guy even now is a disgrace for the game, and I ended up hiting the guy in the back fo his leg. After the round the guy comes to me fiercly ssaying "Do you realise that you hit me in the leg in the 14th hole?" I just asked him who had told him to go and walk down the fw the way he did after I said that I was gonna hit a second ball. The second time I was in the trees with a friend that helped me locate my ball. He was waiting for me to hit my all in the fw to see where it would land. The ball hit a tree and ended up hitting the guy in the chest. Never hit a guy with a golf club though. I do have a target for that purpose, but I'm hopping to never do that. Plus, I've had a close call 2 months ago. The ball just touched my left year, and when I realized how lucky I was, I started playing very badly. The guy didn't even scream fore or nothing...
