Bump! Everyone is playing stock shaft in 3 wood?

do you have to chock down on your putter because it sits the plate which is a little off the ground? do you feel any major difference putting on the z factor from putting on real green because you are gripping at the different part of the grip?

I currently don't have a driver and I've been teeing off with my 3 wood. I found that I have to swing harder than I swing my hybrid to get the ball in the air. Even though the shaft says regular, I feel that it plays stiffer than regular. It could also be other reasons. Anyways, so instead of getting new driver plus custom shafts, re-shafting my 3 wood is going to be a lot cheaper. Plus that'll for me to use it and learn it. My question is for those who have a custom shaft in your 3 wood, why did you pick that shaft? Did you just pick the same shaft as your fitted driver? I know there are numbers to look for while doing a driver fitting (say 90 mph ss, 14 to 16 deg launch, 3000 to 3500 rpm) . Does the same numbers apply to 3 wood?

i bought a used set that came with these grips. they aren't that harsh on my hands comparing to other full cord grips

i see that north american golf marketing is becoming more and more like japanese marketing: taking advantage of special editions, limited edition, etc. the thing is, there will always be someone who's willing to line up for hours and pay rediculous price for those things. once there are enough ppl doing this, you'd think it's pretty normal and make similar decisions. i bet soon there will be iron sets signed by tiger that costs $3000.

maybe you are swinging harder with 4i because you want to hit certain yardage and when you swing to 6i with the same tempo you hit 20 yards further. or hitting 4i grooves your swing to a better shape so your 6i goes further

i was looking for a new putter a few weeks ago. narrowed down to ping or yes! ended up with yes! callie because i like the slightly heavier head and the feel. still waiting for it to arrive.

I can't say you are wrong. But there were times when I liked something so much I was blind to see things that I later dislike and regret. Just wanna double check. You know? Anyways, I just hit a couple of shots with launch monitor. I generate too much backspin with the stock shaft and launching it way too high. Good thing I didn't buy right away ;)

the ball doesn't launch too high on you? with 10.5 degree, reg flex, i launch the ball 18 degree. i might go with 9 degree to bring it down a little.

Few weeks ago, I tried my friend's 2007 Cobra LD M Speed Driver at the range. Wow I was impressed, even though the shaft was a bit too whippy and the draw bias was too much for me. After that, I went into the store and tried the 2007 LD F Speed a few times. I really liked it. When my swing was a bit off, I hit slight fade. When my swing was on, I hit straight or draw. The lightweight shaft was just what I needed. (I've tried other drivers with 65g shafts. They just felt heavy. I couldn't square the club face no matter how hard I try.) What do you guys think about Cobra drivers? In 2008 they have L4V and LD models with different shafts from 2007 models. What do you think about the shafts?

Thanks for the clarification!! So they actually designed the head with a set face angle. I really thought the face angle was the result of how they install the head and shaft, maybe with help grip reminder.
