  1. Kaine appeared to be working from a script meant to irritate Trump, chumming for Twitter rants rather than debating.
  2. Stage 4 terminal walking pneumonia.
  3. CNN was showing clips of TK's previous debates and despite his usual goofy art teacher on whippets look he was brutal. Which was a change from his DNC appearance that really didn't take off despite his obvious excitement. I haven't seen much of MP but at the RNC he was a human sleeping pill. The VP debates are akin to that feeling of standing in the beer line while the opening act is performing, not real exciting. No offense intended to art teachers.
  4. I wore a HRM all of 2015 and most of 2016. On the course regardless of the situation my BPM was all about exertion not golf related stress. My suspicion says the fluxuation for walkers would from the the walking, pace, incline etc. Using a cart I stayed between 100-106 and I'm speed golf guy, sitting at my desk I'm 85-92. Even on my stationary bike I have to make significant RPM changes to see big movement.
  5. There is no real evidence HC has health issues that would prevent her from serving a term and anything legal needs to happen in the next 30 days and it's not going to happen. I seriously doubt anyone watching tonight's debate is tuning in to make that assessment. The heartbeat away thing always comes up but as a hypothetical question.
  6. But doesn't a connection to mainstream republican politics belie Trump's message that his anti-establishment ideas are unique to him? He's been fighting opposition from prominent republicans all year, even MP is on the record as being on the other side of Trump, pro life etc. The (valid) complaint in the primaries from Trump's GOP rivals was he's a democrat in disguise. The only real support he's getting from people like Ryan is in a united we stand or fall context everything else has been trying to downplay Trump's gaffes. Seems the only people in his party that really want him to win are the extremists the rest would love a Clinton 4 year misfire to ensure they retain seats as her more sensible opposition. If MP goes old-school GOP in the debate is it a mixed message or security blanket for moderate republican voters that hope the people around DT can restrain him while he learns on the job. People that would likely bail if the other choice was anybody but Clinton.
  7. Hard to split hairs when it comes to convenience. The "value menu" mentalities I know typically aren't as savvy as they think and it can turn into a step over a dollar to save a dime situation if it drags out. IME it's not possible to win every consumer battle.
  8. The problem for Trump as it relates to debate fodder is Clinton's issues have been talked about ad nauseam and then some. Doesn't matter whether someone agrees with her answers or not but it's old news and doesn't have the same impact, there isn't much that can be said that hasn't been said already, if it didn't hang her then it's not going to now. Besides the answer shouldn't be well he/she did this which is not only coming from the candidates but voters and that's not a defense. It's getting silly that legit criticisms are being met with finger pointing in the other direction, more so from DT's camp than HC's because she's been defending hers 4 years or so. It didn't work well for DT in the first debate and likely won't in the next two. She smiled through it effectively bouncing it off her and he met her attacks by becoming irritated.
  9. It's an issue because he made it an issue by not releasing his returns and it going to come up in the next debate.
  10. Then something else changed (for you). I have been on the same job since 1994 without a salary increase since 2005 and my 05-16 W2's are almost identical. The only variable is I am paid a once a month bonus based on how much our receivables pay and that is a moving target but my weekly withholding is within cents or dollars through 11 years.
  11. Yes, no, maybe. Every year I have charitable deductions I toss out if they take me above what doesn't have to be supported with detailed documentation. It's not worth the hassle in certain instances because deductions aren't 1:1 as it relates to taxable income. If you need a binder of receipts to prove the $800 (thrift store value) items you donated to the local shelter are really worth $800 it's easier and safer to claim whatever doesn't need that much detail. The difference between taking $800 compared to $500 may be $28.52 when it comes to the actual reduction of taxable income. But that isn't how Trump got to his number. The news used vague examples last night and I'll repeat one I saw from a tax pro. Because of the code at the time developers could have put up 1 million of their own dough on a 100 million project, the other money funded by banks/investors, that ultimately went bust and were able to deduct/write off the entire loss of the development if the debt was charged off. Without his returns nobody knows how it actually worked out but apparently the 916 million is legit and so is the 18 years so...
  12. Maybe for me it's more a time issue. My work day with travel time is 8-6:30 and later if I have late deals to work, Sat is 8-2:30. The only time away from work I've had since 2005 is funerals and loan closings so it's all about schedule. Probably not wise but I consider time before money so if I could get my new phone closer I would especially if it meant I had time to do something else I would chose time.
  13. I live in a small town so it's common to drive 30 miles or more for just about anything.
  14. It doesn't have to be an awesome tax manipulation or total disaster to have a bad year, it can simply be a bad year due to factors out of your control. Nobody, not even the wisest biz people on the planet, would take so many deductions they report no income or losses so great it makes them look like they are an unworthy, high risk borrower going forward. Chances are the truth about what happened to DT in 1995 can't be determined without seeing more of his taxes. Where it gets sticky is carrying it over for 18 years and how he got to that number. I saw a couple different explanations from CPA's and tax lawyers on cable news last night and it seems the high loss is related to being able to deduct the entire loss of a development project despite having significantly less personal or corp $$ invested. The loophole mentioned was the debt has to be charged off. That raises a different question, who got stiffed or who was colluding because it's safe to assume no bank or investor wants to lose money. The lending risk comes with an expectation there is a certain return on their money, lenders don't make anything writing off a bunch of bad debt there has to be enough good loans out-performing the bad. Either way it's not good for Trump because a reasonable explanation now requires more than lip service.
  15. I don't think a best ball worst ball comparison does much for a higher handicap golfer only shows the potential of the best shots and the penalties of the worst shots. Just looking at my last 20 the best to worst is 9 strokes and a good chunk of what makes a good day or bad day comes down to a few bad bounces and decisions. Honestly I am surprised a best to worst ball comparison wasn't more than 18 strokes. At my last FlightScope session my 7 iron pattern was 35 feet left east to west and about 15 yards north to south tossing out the unusual stuff. That's hitting balls on the range with no pressure and taking advice from my instructor. The one thing I've learned to count on is my inconsistency, it's my only consistent thing.
  16. I'm going with he could do worse, a lot worse. He is a lunatic with no bottom to hit.
  17. Actually the GOP used no experience against Obama in 08, the community organizer thing etc. When he was the candidate for change they were saying what the country needed was experience, and it wasn't just the McCain machine this was the talk amongst the republicans on the street as well.
  18. Alec? ??????
  19. Lol Baldwin nailed it.
  20. Lot's of douches in the crowd. Not digging it.
  21. Becsuse the prez can't slam a gavel down and say so let it be written so let it be done. We all know why things don't get done.
  22. Don't like the hype and don't like the for profit media turning it into their super bowl. Don't like that because of that we'll get two plasticized candidates doing their best to give canned answers their teams prepared for them weeks ago. Don't like that a "winner" will be declared when the standards are so low. Don't like that the voting public is playing along. Wake me up in 2020.
  23. I remember the first home feeling and it's a good one. Don't go nuts with repair and upgrades, easy to get sucked in.
  24. Big opportunity for the US to not only lead by example but set the standard and market. My office is ten good drives from the local Vestas plant. The rail moving the props a long putt from my desk. Impressive stuff and one of the biggest employers in the town, some of my customers working there are very well paid.
  25. I was going to post something similar. The downside is renewable energy doesn't align with certain political beliefs, because for some majorly effed up reason everything has to be split down the middle, left or right by the masses. You can't support it because it's the cause of the enemy and the buy in means accepting a bunch of other shit that shouldn't be attached to it. For change to happen climate change will have to stop being a political battle.
