  1. A grip. It was time to re-grip my fairway wood.
  2. I find that I do much better when I do not have a swing thought. It has taken me a long time to come to this. The last lesson I took, the pro said "just swing the club. If the ball gets in the way, fine." If it doesn't, it will next time.
  3. I just recently replaced my ancient Adams Golf wedges with Bombtech wedges. The awful thing is, it has been raining since they arrived.....😭
  4. I ordered a set of wedges from Bombtech. They arrived two days ago, and has been raining since 😓

  6. Water bottle filled with water in the winter, and ice and water in the summer. Also some sort of sweet to boost my carbs when I start to feel low.
  7. I have had a mixed bag. Adams golf irons and hybrids, ping putter, and Taylormade Drive and fairway wood. Two days ago I was fitted for a new set of Cleveland Launcher HB irons. I cant't wait until they arrive!
  8. When I first started playing, I jumped all around on the ball that I hit. Form the least expensive, to what I felt as the right ball for me. Currently I am hitting the Titleist Velocity, which I buy from online used ball vendors. When you buy in quantity, they are really not too badly priced.
  9. I typically buy mine from one of the online retailers who sell used balls. I just ordered 48 Titleist Velocity, with shipping, for less than $40.00. These are considered 'mint' condition. I have no complaints
  10. A set of Cleveland Launcher HB Irons. I had them fit, and they should arrive in about 10 days... can't wait!
  11. A Ping Ketch Putter, box of Srixon balls, and a glove
  12. To golf better today then I did yesterday.
  13. Integrity does not come in measures; you either have it or you don ’ t
  14. Wow, what a subject close to my heart. I as well have recently taken up the game again after many years, and I as well am having a difficult time finding golf partners. What I have concluded that golf, like other things in life are better when not alone , but even alone, it's better then none.
  15. So OK. I've played two rounds with my new Sun Mountain Four-5... LOVE IT! It is lightweight, has plenty of storage, and I just like the way it looks too. Time will tell how well it holds up, but as for now I cannot imagine wanting another bag.
  16. As an early Father's day gift, my wife gave me a Sun Mountain Four-5 this past weekend. I suppose she got the hint from my whining and telling her if I had this I would never want anything else ever again! LOL. Anyway, so for, I love the organization and the weight. I’ll let you know how it goes after this Saturday.
  17. I have purchased used clubs through my golf teacher/pro; he knows local people who are selling clubs. I felt he knew me and my abilities and knew best what clubs would work for me at my current state of play. So far, I have purchased a Taylormade R7 Driver, a Cobra 9 wood, a set of Adamsgolf A3OS Idea Hybrids, and am considering a set of three Adams Tom Watson Wedges. So far, the clubs he has suggested to me have worked well. I know some day I will want a nice, new, shiny set, but for now as I learn, the used clubs are working great for me.
  18. I am looking for someone who would not mind playing with a newbie with an unknown handicap. My weekends are usually open and can, from time to time, find time for a quick 9 during the week.
  19. Looking for a golf buddy around the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia who wouldn't mid playing with a newbie with a very high handicap.
  20. I hear ya sebsmash... I've had pretty much the same experience. My net arrived last Monday and since then I've been using it in the back yard. Today I went to the practice range and noticed an improvement.
  21. No I never played Cottonwood. Back in those days I never played much and when I did I was really bad. When I did play it was usually in the muni in Riverside. Fairmount Park, if memory serves. It was pretty rough, but was inexpensive and fairly easy to get to play.
  22. I ordered a net and it arrived a couple of days ago. Yesterday I set it up in the back yard and started using it. What I found is I seem to swing better using it. Giving that some thought, and reading previous posts, I conclude that it is all in my head. What I mean is, since I know I cannot see how far the ball will go, I concentrate just on my swing, and I think that is going to be a good thing.
  23. As for me, I tend to do what happens to goodatgolf. While there doens't seem to be a number high enough to reflect my handicap, I get so much worse when I leave the practice tee. I know that there is no difference, but my 'head' knows there is.........
  24. Nothing really. Today I just went look and wish I had unlimited money!
