I'm not even going to ask how you know. We'll live with the Army's slogan "Don't ask, Don't tell". Harry always seems pretty "gay" to me. After all isn't the true definition of gay, happy. -
When I graduated High School and started attending Columbus State here in Ohio in 2001 it was about $800 per quarter for about 12 credit hours. That didn't include the text books. Needless to say the $4,000 I had saved up didn't last very long.

Immts007 - I believe it's a CC but not 100% sure. When I attended the local CC it was about $800 for 12 credit hours. Remember the "children" have to be full time to be covered, well most insurance companies require that. Smallville - I'm not sure about getting refunded 100% but I think it is a large majority of the money you get back. I know I did drop one class but I can't remember how much I got back. I do know that 100% of the book cost was refunded from the store.

I think she is going to contact the Insurance carrier but I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone had any "real world experience" with this one. Thanks for the info though guys.

Ok here's the deal, a co-worker of mine has a daughter that just graduated from high school in June. Her daughter decided to join the Army. While during boot camp she started having a medical problem that they attribute to being genetic. She is being discharged from the Army but they are not sure when she will be discharged. The local college that she is planning on attending starts on the 24th of this month. Registration ends on the 19th. All fees have to be paid then. If she does not get enrolled for the fall quarter will the Insurance carrier drop her or will she be ok until the winter quarter starts in January? Has anyone ran into this situation before with their own kid/or kids?

I can't either. Almost makes me not want to get one. (yeah right) Just like everything else it's bass-ackwards.

What 3 SandTrap members you would want to golf with

You've got to have priorities. Sandtrap, golf, and then schoolwork (if you're not busy practicing your putting or something). I mean how much of it do you really use after you graduate anyways? -

I haven't talked with a lot of the folks around here but here would be my choices: Harry Longshanks - for the comic relief Dent - just to bring the average age a little lower Julie_M - to bring the prettiness of the group up Alternate would be iacas incase Dent was busy going to school or something. I'm starting to think Dent is going to have to quit school so he can play all this golf. He's going to be busy. -

Thanks for that info. Actually as soon as I posted my response I went and found the website and seen they were only $1. I'll have to get me a copy or two. One for the bag and one for the "throne". Nice to know it's nice and small and easily carriable (if that's even a word).

I'm guessing you play Landings at Rickenbacker? Never played there but I've heard it's nice. That would be pretty cool to see those jets come in. As long as I wasn't in the middle of my swing. Do you get a free mulligan if you mess up?

Shortly after I started golfing around 1996 the free lessons I took with the Parks and Rec Department they gave us a copy of the rules. That stayed in my bag for a couple years until I bought a new bag. I do need to get a new copy to keep in there. I'd like to find a "pocket sized" copy that won't take up a lot of room.

Your thoughts on my possible new "bag"
bogeyme replied to bogeyme's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks for those pictures. I am looking at the Big Bertha's. Sorry for any misunderstanding. I hit them again last night at Golfsmith. I liked the feel and everything on these. I also hit the Burner driver last night and liked it. I think I'm pretty set on the Burner. I also found a used set of Big Bertha's for $440 and they sell for $600 new. I've looked on e-bay and found a couple sets of Big Bertha's for $500 so that might be an option too instead of buying from Golfsmith. -
Your thoughts on my possible new "bag"

We all might be talking about a different set of clubs here. The Big Bertha's that I'm talking about run about $500. I would never pay over about $600 for a set of irons the way I play. My iron play if fairly good. I can hit my irons straight. It's my drives that I have a problem with. Lessons don't sound like a bad idea. Would it be ok to get a new set of irons for now, get a few lessons with the driver and clubs over all and then invest in a new driver? I don't think getting lessons on my current irons will do me much good. I guestimate that I'm about 2 clubs behind with my old irons. I'm hitting a 4 or 5 when I should be hitting a 7. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. -
You could have broke it to me a little easier.

So if the putting greens are rigged and I still miss putts does that mean my putting really sucks??
-
Ok, since I've joined I've flip flopped back and forth on what brand of clubs I was going to buy. My current set up like I've mentioned in the past are 13+ year old clubs that were made for me from sticks and rocks. Ok some maybe not sticks and rocks but I might be able to play a little better with those. I've put some serious thought into what I wanted to buy and I think I have finally come to my decision. If I can (and I really hope I can) replace everything in my bag except for the putter I just bought this is the route I will most likely go. Driver: Taylormade Burner 10.5* stiff Fairway wood: Taylormade Burner 3wood stiff Irons: Callaway Big Bertha I-brids 3-PW (SW and other Wedges maybe) I have not decided on if I will get the Big Bertha SW or anyother wedges. Here's my reasoning behind picking these clubs. I'm a high handicapper. I have a huge slice problem off the tee with a driver or wood but I don't want to limit myself by buying a "draw" driver. I would like to correct my slice instead of "painting over" the slice. With my high handicap in mind the BB irons seem like a good set to get me a little more on target with where I need to be. What do you guys think about my choices? Yeh, Nah, who cares. I don't mind hearing them all.

Does that mean there would be no intern's for you??

I think they do something with the Senate or House and they run and hide first if there is a possible threat. They call it being put in a safe house but I think they are just chicken shit.

I didn't see this move coming. I'm not sure which side of the fence I'm on in regards to the election. To get just a bit off topic does anyone have any unbiased websites I can look at to be able to form a better opinion on both candidates? If so please PM those to me so we don't take up any more space. Now back to the topic.

Here are a few things I'm permanantly addicted to: Any burrito from Chipotle with onions and peppers and pinto beans, fresh tomato salsa and a dash of hot salsa, cheese and lettace. Then topped off every bite with the Chipotle Tobassco sauce. Giant Classic #13 sub on wheat from Jersey Mikes subs with all the fixin's and "Mike's Way" with Oil, Vinegar, and seasonings If I was single I'd have one or the other everynight for dinner. Can't go wrong with a JM sub. Best subs this side of Heaven.

Can/does your first impression of a course ruin your feel for the course? I played a course over the weekend that I have wanted to play for a long time. I just never found the time to play it and with the expense $68 for 18 plus cart never wanted to play it that bad. Well my cousin's work had their golf outing at this course and he asked me to play. I played for a little cheaper. It was $50 with lunch and a cart. I showed up at 10:00 for the shotgun start that ended up being tee times. Well I pull into the lot and it's a very beat up lot. The course is maybe 10 years old if that. I changed my shoes, and headed to the clubhouse to meet up with the rest of the guys I was playing with. The clubhouse is a trailer. So far I am very unimpressed with this course that is not only "expensive" to me but supposed to be a very nice course. The course was in pretty good shape. Most of the grass was dead but there's not a whole lot you can do in Ohio when there's no rain. So does your first impression of a course ruin your day? I don't know that I will play this course again because I was very unimpressed with it.

Me too. I'm just lucky to get a meal before golfing.

I wish my dad would have showed interest in playing golf with me at your sons age. Hell even at 26 I wish my dad would show interest in playing golf with me. I got my first set of clubs for my 12th or 13th birthday and started taking lessons. He never once asked if I wanted to go play. I would have been all over it if he had. When I was 15 he moved to Kentucky (my parents are divorced). He would come up a few times a year. Then my senior year he moved to Southern Ohio. I had asked him a couple of times when he was coming back "home" if he would bring his clubs and wanted to play but he always said there wouldn't be time. So I gave up asking him. Hopefully your son will realize how much it means to you for him to play and he will play with you. I would just offer him everytime you are going and he might surprise you one of these times and take you up on your offer. If he keeps turning you down just say ok maybe next time and not push the subject any further.
