I had a blast spending the week at chambers! Ran to the airport to get back to CO and was missing the end of the tourney but managed to catch DJ three putt then ran into jimmy walker who said the greens were absolutely terrible! I'm Bummed chambers didn't impress because it truly is an amazing course to play.

This course is very fun to play. Chambers can be frustrating but if you are hitting your spots it's a real joy. I'm here now and the course looks (and feels) much better in person than on TV.

Is this in Denver? -
I was lucky enough to be accepted as a volunteer this year. I also have played the course many times so this will be a very memorable USO for me! Oh and I can avoid the messy traffic by biking from my grandparents house a few miles away. The weather won't be an issue. It can be windy anywhere on the sound and will likely drizzle but it shouldn't get nasty by any means.

Is Ferguson actually Gilberg? Something smells a little fishy...

I just finished Steven Erikson's Malazan series. IMO far better the A Song of Ice and Fire, Dragonlance or any other Epic Fantasy series I have read.

I agree, 83 is not bad for a high single digit handicapper. I have never played Pebble nor have I ever been a 3 hdcp but I would think (and could be very wrong) that a 3 would be in the 70s on that course more often than not. -

I am really hoping he will post a scorecard. I think it more likely that he will just gloss over the bad holes and focus on the almost birdies... -
I will gladly trade the possibility of being snowed out for a week (although that seems like an exaggeration) for the 6 months of soggy messy shit fairways that I currently get. I love Washington but the fall/winter/spring season is growing old. I think I'll listen to Club rat and Fourputt when it comes to CO weather! Also golf is not the only reason to live... So having mountain access, fly fishing, and whatever other outdoor activities one could imagine helps offset the handful of times I won't be able to play!

Awesome! Thanks for the input! I can't deny the appeal of gaining a little distance... Sea level and wet aren't exactly the best recipe for big pokes! I am more excited to potentially play year round without the plugging and slogging through the mud!
-
Well that sure is a handy site! Thanks again. I'll have to get my bearings and treat you to a round for the kindness!

Much appreciated! Coming from Washington I am used to heavily treed courses with plenty of elevation change. My assumption is courses on the west side less flat and therefore more what I am accustomed to. Is that correct? Google earth only shows so much...

After 35 years in the soggy Pacific Northwest I am going to try something different. The wife and I have decided to move to Denver (area). I am really looking forward to living somewhere that the ball won't plug three months out of the year. I would greatly appreciate any advice on where to play. I have never spent any time in Denver but it looks like there are a ton of great options. We are thinking of living on the west side, somewhere around Arvada or Pleasant hill...

Maybe I should invite him to come up to Washington to play Chambers bay with me and my playing partner (who is a legitimate 2 and plays decent tourney golf). I as an 11 struggle with Chambers. It would be interesting to see if he accepted for one and who's score he would be closer to, mine or Jake's... I also think it would be good to see how he compares to the pros who will be there this summer. If he is truly broke I might have to pay for him and give him a place to stay. Not sure if I could handle the guy for 24 hours. -
I have been a little lax in my practice as the weather is starting to be uncooperative quickly and I want to play.... Although I see improvement I am still having trouble with core rotation. I don't feel like I am getting my hips and shoulder open enough. On the bright side I have been making much better ball contact with a fairly predictable flight. I can still hit my 3w straighter and further than my driver (on average) and desperately need help with that... Any help from you smart fellers would be greatly appreciated!

I recently moved to Seattle (from Bellingham area) and haven't found a course I'd like to call home. I live in SLU so nothing is particularly close. Are there any Seattle golfers on here that have any recommendations?

Going forward I am starting a shame file. That's me personally.

I can't stand the replacement of skill with "skill set" when referring to ONE skill. How can one skill be a set?! I work in an industry full of the not so bright so I often hear in meetings "incedences". When I have to sit through a long BS meeting I now count the occurrences, it helps me cope... -
Thanks for the pointers. We are definitely working on more shoulder turn. I have never considered spine curve at address, maybe worth looking into.

I've been Playing Golf for: fifteen years My current handicap index or average score is: 90ish haven't posted a score in over a year My typical ball flight is: High (ballooning) The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: trying to end the "flip" I have been working with very small swings (1/4-1/2) for a couple weeks now. I still can't get to a good impact position with a full swing. I am open to any and all feedback. Videos:

In Washington where I live private property owners can put up signage that states "no firearms". It is not illegal to cross that sign with a gun but you could be trespassed if the owner chose to. I respect private property owners wishes therefore wouldn't carry on said property. municipal golf courses in washington cannot enforce a no firearm policy as they are public places.

I think the answer is very simple. Carry where you legally can, where you feel the need and where you feel comfortable. Although I feel no imminent personal danger on the golf course I have regularly had my pistol in my bag. The reason I do this is simple, I carry often and refuse to leave my firearm in my car. I certainly won't skip golf just because I have a gun with me, I just tuck in my bag and don't let my bag out of reach. I did think of using it once when a crow unzipped my bag and removed a bag of range tokens valued around $50 and flew off... I would have shot that damned bird had it been legally allowed! I actually blame that bird for my current golf funk because I wasn't able to utilize those tokens for the practice I so dearly need... guns aren't going away responsible gun owners are just that... responsible If you aren't comfortable with guns don't own them...

My personal preference is to the maui jim ka'anapali they are an extremely light weight wire frame. The only problem I have found with these glasses is that they are so light that I have lost two pair to the Pacific because I forgot I was wearing them... Great durability, polarized lenses, weightless
