1. They will ask for a DOB to put in their system, along with a picture and other info if it is like a standard US country club. Of course they will ask. If you lie and give them a different year on your DOB you will have to "remember" that lie. Then when you play with other guys and make friends at the club, you'll have to be careful talking about your age. Then you will sound fishy when talking about high school graduation, college graduation, "I married my wife when I was 29" "But you just told me you're 28?" So one big lie would then compound into a number of other lies. All that hassle not telling the truth just to save $1 a day? Man up and pay your fees or pick a different club.
2. Really looking forward to winter and fall for the golf season. I haven't golfed seriously in either season so it will be cool. Khaki pants golf shirt and a vest. Everyone is a golf pro in the winter (pants)!
3. ****ing sweet idea maybe make it shoot off a bottle rocket or something. But really I can tell where the ball mark is on the face and know how the ball was hit.
4. I use a 60*/04* and a 56*/14* around the green. I love how heavy my sand wedge is. But I love how I can deaden the face of the lob wedge and hit the toe and give the ball a high slow moving flight that doesn't roll too much. I noticed yesterday that the SW is significantly heavier. Has anyone ever added lead tape to their wedges? How much weight can I expect to add without getting too clunky? Both my wedged are Vokeys.
5. That club is gorgeous... what's up with the 235-241yd par 3 hole #4? Description? Is 235 really the closest tee box?
6. That is awesome!! Nothing like the fruits of your labor.
7. Lamb and duck are often overlooked. Nothing better than duck roasted during the night that was flying that morning. Man I miss Corpus Christi duck heaven.
8. I'm cashing that all day, tough luck cowboy. He would've cashed Dufner's.

10. Great question. I have used a GPS watch in the past and still do occasionally. But when you need to know, you need to know. A laser is the way to get you there. Also it's the best tool for the range as the yardages are never accurate. Just remember to multiply your yardage by about 1.15 because of the distance control effect of range balls. That way you REALLY know what you hit, with every club. Perfect!
11. He was great while he lasted. You know people are constantly complaining about the lack of morals and class in the NFL. Stars are banging strippers with cocaine in hotel rooms, getting caught with PEDs, narcotics, illegal weapons, etc. And so Tebow comes along, but oh no he is TOO nice. An honest God-fearing man came along and the NFL and media chewed him up and spit him out. America begged for someone like Tebow to come along for quite some time for both college and NFL. At least he has left a great legacy in college ball. Too bad he can't find a spot in the NFL, I am one of his biggest fans.
12. Glad to hear about the copy paste fix. Sometimes after copying and pasting certain texts, the Sand Trap text box wants to have all follow up text written by the user in the same format as the copied text.
13. http://www.golfdigest.com/golf-tours-news/blogs/local-knowledge/2013/08/media-chamblee-calls-tigers.html Can't even let Tiger warm up without picking him apart. LOL
14. Got it on Amazon for a penny, hardcover, only catch was $5 shipping. It's a great read with good advice. Even if you don't heed the advice the Tour anecdotes are worth the reading. Awesome stories in there.
15. Couldn't imagine not having spikes.
16. For anyone who is interested in Global Golf's customer service. The next day air fee was waived, AND the shoes shipped out that Thursday (4:15pm so they must've done something special) to arrive at my place Friday afternoon, just in time for the weekend rounds. A+ and looking forward to restoring their rightful place in my bookmark bar.
17. Had this same issue happen to me. Have gone through 8+ spikes in three rounds. Even saw a buddy at the range and he saw my new shoes. He says he do me a favor and points at the shoe. I already knew, and lifted up the shoe to show him the bottom where my right foot toe spike was missing as usual.
18. Damn Adam Scott is jacked. No wonder my fiancee is always cheering for him.
19. Start taking a slow swing and look back in the direction of interference. They will get the picture. If they stand there smugly it is gamesmanship and should be reported in an off-the-cuff manner "Yeah I played a nice round besides having to baby-sit Jim on the tee boxes. He plopped his bag in my backswing at least 6 times. Was really bothersome to have to show him where to stand."
20. Aw
This was reaaaally bothering me that I could not find this, as I regard myself as a pretty good "googler"... So alas, I found it! "Big Whiskers" - Otis Gibbs The google search that finally worked was "Song about beard and big catfish"
That's the one, awesome!!! Thanks
21. Sad to read people accusing Tiger of faking injuries. He played a great tournament and was in contention for a playoff. He just didn't make it. For anyone that has not had a back spasm or cramps etc it is hard to comprehend how it feels. Pain is pain, and it clogs up your nervous system and affects everything from your train of thought to your walk to your golf swing. I hope Tiger gets to feeling better and healing up because it is no fun to see him plagued by injuries. It's robbing me of some good TV golf.
22. It's an old country song and the premise is that an old man is chasing after a big catfish. He grows his beard out swearing that he won't cut it until he catches the cat. One day he catches the cat, lets it go, and cuts his beard off with scissors. We are trying to remember the name of the song at work because one of our older gentlemen has been chasing after "Moby Red" a redfish that has evaded him for months. I have tried google endlessly with no leads.
23. Lovely!! Had a great laugh.
24. My best clubs in no particular order: Driver, putter, 9i, SW, 4 wood, love the 7i too. And the LW. Who could forget the 3H. 8i and PW very good too. Golf is a game of confidence, right?
25. This is a question that will never yield a commonly accepted answer easily. To ask someone to name the greatest golfer of all time is to ask the person to judge the golfer on various aspects of their game. One person might believe that major wins are the ultimate factor. Another might look at the money list, or lifetime earnings. While another may look at GIR's and lifetime stats. Another may judge the golfer on his finishes (see the posts herein praising T2 and T10). Nothing wrong with any of those measures for judging a golfer's merit. But it is important to remember that they are different. The question is not dissimilar to "What's the best car?" Well in order to answer that we need to be more specific. Are we talking looks? Gas mileage? Speed? Reliability? Resale value? Bang for your buck? A better question would be a more specific question. For example, "Who dominated their era in the most convincing manner possible?" to which the answer is Tiger Woods. Or Bobby Jones? Oh gosh here we go again...
