  1. What exactly is the purpose of having a bunch of wedges? I only have one 56 degree wedge. Is there an advantage to having a 52,54,or 60 degree wedge? Im just wondering for personal education on golf.
  2. I have a tendency to have very fast hips which has been causing me to slice or hit the ball to the right because i get ahead of my club and this leaves the face open. I have been looking at the swings of professional golfers and Rory McIlroy has very fast hips as well, but he hits it straight. Does anybody have any tips on how to: 1. Turn my hands over faster like Rory or 2. Slow down my lower body
  3. Unfortunately I won't be able to take the pictures. Tomorrow should be fine though.
  4. I love my Ping G10 7 iron. It goes where I want it to go every time and it sticks like glue.
  5. I will going to the range today. I will either make a video somehow or try to take pictures on my set up. (feet, weight distribution, grip, club setup, etc.) I will post them as soon as I can. I'm pretty consistent with flip shots.
  6. If you are hitting 70% fairways with your driver, there is no reason to change. If you were a pro golfer you would be ranked 4th in the PGA Tour for driving accuracy. I have found that distance isn't too big of a factor. So don't let a 225 yard drive get you down. In High School I could hit close to a 300 yd drive but would only get mid 80's. A guy who won every tournament could probably hit it only about 250 at the very most, but he was STRAIGHT on every shot. He got a full ride golf scholarship too. So imo, straight is better than long. Keep hitting those fairways.
  7. I see multiple problems. 1.On your first shot, which looks like a fairway woods, your hands are already in front of the club at address. BAD 2. At first i thought you were rewinding the video to show us the top of your swing, but I don't think that is the case. If you stop at the top of your swing and do those "stutter swings", your rhythm is most likely going to be off and it could change the club face angle etc. The only person I have seen do anything like this is Charles Barkley, but I doubt he has a 12 handicap like you so you are doing better than he is haha. 3. On the driver, it looked like you turned your head back away from the ball. DON'T DO THAT. Try looking at this Golf Pro's youtube channels. He has some great advice. http://www.youtube.com/user/paulwilsongolf?feature=results_main Also, just in case you haven't seen a video. Here is Charles Barkely doing what he does not do best.
  8. Try the Titleist Vokey Spin milled wedges. After getting a 56 degree aboout 6 years ago, I can honestly say I will not be using anything else. I must say though, those advertisement posters in my club house for cleveland wedges do look pretty sexy.
  9. Just to clarify, you already know how to do a flop shot and you just want to know some drills? OR You want to learn how to hit a flop shot + drills?
  10. Can you upload a video? I think I could help if I saw what your swing looked like.
  11. Back when I used to take lessons, my instructor noticed I was going outside to in. So he brought out this plastic thing that had a line for what the ideal take away line should be and what the ideal down swing path ways. Needless to say, it worked wonders. I still imagine myself hitting off of it when i think i am going outside first. Here is a picture of something similar. I couldn't find the exact same product, but this is close enough that you should see what I mean.
  12. I followed the instructions for posting a signature yesterday, but the only problem was that I couldn't find the "edit signature" button. Maybe that is what he means.
  13. Howdy! From a Bellville Texan.
  14. This golf pro named Paul Wilson has some great videos with awesome advice on youtube. I would definitely check him out. Here is the link to his youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/paulwilsongolf?feature=results_main
  15. I have the same problem. I uploaded a video of it at the myswing section. I feel your pain. I have gone to the range 5 days in a row trying to fix it. I have fixed my irons, but the woods, not so much.
  16. I think what you are doing is the best thing. My home golf course has the same problem. I usually just go out and play cold, but I have realized the importance of a good warm up. Maybe you should invest in a golf net and warm up at home before you show up. If the net is not an option, just keep doing that. An old golf instructor told me to hit 25 balls beforehand and to not even worry about where they are going. Just do it to warm up. So just pretend you are hitting balls and that should be the next best thing.
  17. I noticed when looking at the AimPoint website and when looking for a local instructor it said "Level F". Is that good? Is there a way you can make a video teaching aim point to people on here? There are only two places in Texas and that teach it and unless you live "close" to Houston or Dallas, the drive is pretty long.
  18. I've been Playing Golf for: 11 Years My current handicap index or average score is: Lately, my handicap is has been +8 and im playing terrible so I would say an accurate handicap would be around +3 or +4 My typical ball flight is: Straight with a slight draw The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: This push/slice. I haven't had a slicing problem in 6 years, and now it is back. Here is a video. Luckily, the hole dog-legged right and it worked out great. Please let me know if you can see what is wrong with the swing. I have a tendency to have fast hips. I think this is the main problem. Videos:
