This coming October it will be two years since I quit smoking after 1.5 months of Chantix. It worked for me -- after 30 years of smoking about an average of a pack a day (much more at times). I started when I was 12 No offense, but those of you commenting that you "can't understand" nicotine addiction; no freaking duh. Why are you wasting space responding? It's pretty insensitive. Addiction to smoking takes place over time and gets more intense the longer you smoke. It is not only a physical addiction but a mental one. In fact, for me, the mental addiction was often much more difficult to deal with than the physical one.

I gotta work with him on that open clubface, though. LOL.

So I took about a 5 month break from posting... mostly because my game was going downhill and I didn't feel like talking about golf much. But here it is, spring, and yes, hope springs eternal. I'm hoping to break 90 once between now and September! Anyway, hope y'all had a nice Easter. Speaking of Easter this is a video from this Saturday, the day before. My folks were up visiting and my kids were playing in the backyard. I was watching the 3 round of The Master's when my mom says "Mark, have you seen what your son is doing in the back yard?" Well I hadn't, and I was blown away. Here is my 21 month old son, future pga champion I couldn't be prouder

That's awesome to hear! Would you say its a big improvement over 08? Have you been able to tryout the new online play feature?
-
Well, it's being presented as "my wife and daughter are getting a wii and wii fit for xmas" muwahahahaha I'm not a gamer. and this will be my first console since the Atari I had as an adolescent, but we have friends who have wii's and have used them on snow vacations and at parties. Played the wii sports golf and Tiger Woods 08 and had a lot of fun - but of course the swing mechanics left a little to be desired, especially with putting, I thought. Apparently this has been totally retooled for 09 with "1:1 swing mechanics" or something. Anyone here try it? Comments? Seems like most of you are xboxers. Any Wii folk?

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I'm entitlled to think you are 100% wrong about who divided the nation. George Bush was elected both times with the slimmest of margins, in fact, in 2000 he lost the popular vote and there was lot of dispute about the electoral vote. If you'll recall for the first time in history, the supreme court decided the election. He promised to be a uniter and not a divider and then proceeded to govern as if he had a mandate. Despite this, he had a honeymoon that lasted almost his ENTIRE first term. We had been viciously attacked and both the media and the American people gave him a pass on much that should have been challenged. Who are you saying divided this country? Please. You've got to be kidding. Go check the conservative blogs - the ugliness began before the election was called. Crap like this was available, I kid you not, by 9pm on election eve: http://shop.cafepress.com/obama+not+...FQXGsgodK1sCOg There's LOTS more, NM Golf.

which way does your divot point?
immts007 replied to hrossroth's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
the wrong way, unfortunately to the left. (outside in) -
Oregon is all vote by mail. I hand-delivered my ballot to the county courthouse two weeks ago. I sort of miss the ritual of the precinct polling place.

Thanks, Chilli Dipper - I was just about to compose a post of my own explaining this. And it's actually not even 2 years until January LOL.

Well, I agree that they don't seem to be very fiscally conservative, but then again I think it's a wive's tail that they ever really were. Sure they would cut taxes for the wealthy but then go right ahead and spend like they had a limitless budget. This was true even of Reagan - the deficit increased mightly under his watch. No, it's more the social conservatism that I'm talking about. The influence of religious fundamentalism has never been stronger. People have always called McCain more 'liberal' than the bulk of the GOP, yet there is absolutely nothing in his voting record to back that up. It mystifies me.

ERC7.5, could you expand on or quantify this? Both of my parents are (were) lifelong Republicans - as is most of my family. Many of them are bitter because they think the party has been taken over by "the base" and bears little to no resemblance to the party they grew up in. In other words they think the GOP is far more right-wing than it ever has been in the past. Quite the opposite of what you are saying. How has the GOP become 'liberal'? Are there some examples you can point too?

Yeah, but stern's show is usually videotaped as well.

I'll join the Chorus, Chili Dipper. That was a really excellent post.

Believe it or not, ganja's not joking - just being clever. The remarks are clearly in the context of public service, both at home and abroad, ie; peace corps, ameri corps, foreign consulates, 'energy corps' etc... mentoring programs for underprivileged youth. Here is the source... to get the context you need to pay attention between 15 minutes in and 18. Funny how googling for this right now turns up a last minute barrage of results almost exclusively from right-wing blogs. It reeks of desperation. The phrase 'civilian national security force' is clearly rhetorical and not literal.

McCain supporter turns away pro-Obama kids on Halloween
immts007 replied to Chilli Dipper's topic in The Grill Room
That's fantastic. What a scary halloween witch! Bet she scared a lot of kids... -
Hey jmoc, I'm tired of providing arguments and facts to counteract bullshit like yours, I'd give you a link to factcheck.org but I assume you've read through this thread and just don't give a crap about the truth and would rather lie and misrepresent. Every single thing you've said has been debunked. And you know what I think? I think you know it. But you keep saying it anyway.
-
No matter what the facts say. No matter what anyone says. No matter what reality is. Oh, I don't recall anyone asking that question, so it seems you create your own arguments as you go - so it's just as well you have them with your self.

Smallville, it's the same as its been. Look, go download the pdf of the tax plan and read it. Families making $200k and under will see a tax cut Families making up to $250k will see their taxes remain the same Here it is: directly from the pdf from the website where it hasn't changed that I'm aware of: •Middle class families will see their taxes cut – and no family making less than $250,000 will see their taxes increase. The typical middle class family will receive well over $1,000 in tax relief under the Obama plan, and will pay tax rates that are 20% lower than they faced under President Reagan. According to the Tax Policy Center, the Obama plan provides three times as much tax relief for middle class families as the McCain plan. Indeed, according to the National Review, McCain’s plan “offers very little in the way of direct benefits to Americans in the middle of the income scale.” • Families making more than $250,000 will pay either the same or lower tax rates than they paid in the 1990s. Obama will ask the wealthiest 2% of families to give back a portion of the taxes they have received over the past eight years to ensure we are restoring fairness and returning to fiscal responsibility. But no family will pay higher tax rates than they would have paid in the 1990s. In fact, dividend rates would be 39 percent lower than what President Bush proposed in his 2001 tax cut. • Obama’s plan will cut taxes overall, reducing revenues to below the levels that prevailed under Ronald Reagan (less than 18.2 percent of GDP).iii The Obama tax plan is a net tax cut – his tax relief for middle class families is larger than the revenue raised by his tax changes for families over $250,000. Coupled with his commitment to cut unnecessary spending, Obama will pay for this tax relief while bringing down the budget deficit.

Eagles of Death Metal - Heart On: $3.99 @ AmazonMP3!!!!
immts007 replied to immts007's topic in The Grill Room
You are totally welcome. You find a great deal like that, you got to share the info! -
If you like hard-edged, danceable and dirty FUN blues-infected rock music, go now: http://www.amazon.com/Heart-On/dp/B0...20576&sr;=103-3 $3.99 has to be a mistake, and I can't believe it will last long. Death By Sexy was one of my favorite albums of 2006. For those who are interested it's a side project of the dude from Queens of the Stone Age. I don't listen to that band, but I LOVE this one. Edit: yeah I just checked - the same album is $9.99 on iTunes at half the bitrate.

Yeah, I hear you. But I think endorsements like that stand in stark, useful contrast to the barrage of last minute misinformation coming out of the McCain campaign and the right wing 527's

Isn't it gorgeous? When I see stuff like that, it's so humbling. It reminds me that ultimately, our petty wars and politics are soooo cosmically insignificant.

The Economist endorses Obama "wholeheartedly" I guess they, along with The Financial Times , who endorsed Obama on Monday think his "redistribution of wealth" plan must be pretty damn good for business since business is their raison d'etre . The Economist: It's Time . The Financial Times: Obama is the better choice
