  1. I smear it on the clubface . couple whacks and then wipe it off . do it all over again
  2. I use a dry erase marker , just have to wipe it off with a towel
  3. I have upgraded my whole bag this year. acquired titleist 913 d-fw-hy , mizzy 825p , clev rtx wedges . does it pay to have "new" clubs verified for specs ? I would like to know if my "woods" are really the loft it says it is , then check-verify-bend my irons if out of wack from manufacturer specs . does it pay to have this done on new clubs ? or have people found that these brands are spot on ?
  4. all I use is a tube- pipe cutter . I do very minimal shaft cutting . now, that little wheel is not a can opener . I see u have learned something . so u do not try to puncture the wheel through and then try to edge it around . not sure if this is what u did . tighten the wheel gently , and if u don't have it tight enough , when u try to spin it around it will move and not hold it's line , so then as u spin it around u may need to just keep tightening it a hair as u spinning it and boom it cuts through and off . for graphite I use a dremel tool with a cut off wheel on it . don't even try to use a tube cutter on graphite , u will splinter the shaft . just my 2 cents
  5. what would be the swingweights of the 913's , dr-fw-hy ? the weight kits that are available , are these all interchangable with each other , to fit all 3 metals ? adjusting the surfit hosel . how does adjusting the lie angle affect left-right ball flight ? thanks for the help
  6. aside from the rule . while using a wax to protect or tidy your clubs/shafts, a wax won't last long at all . from all the friction, ball contact , turf contact , in/out of the bag . I'm an auto detailer by hobby . a wax on a vehicle doesn't last , just as the more u wash it it depletes itself . your best bet for a little longer protection would be to use a sealant , also there are specific products out there for chrome/stainless . u could also go top of the line and use a coating , as this would protect it the best . nothing on the face of the club or the sole would last . pm me if you would like to know more about sealants and coatings .
  7. I already have a 21' 913h to replace , I would assume 20' if mizzy made 3i in 825p . I plan to get 24' 913h to replace 23'-4i . now I'd like to get one lower than the 21' 913h . they have 17' and 19' . with the surefit hosel I can adjust some, -.75/+.75/+1.5' . I don't have access to lm so based on loft which should I get 17 or 19 ?
  8. Monday I got fitted at g.g. ended up goin home with 913d2 . I tried both t.m. new drivers and they just did not click for me . Tuesday went to my local golf shop , ordered 913's , 2 fairways and 1 hybrid . tink'd around with del mar - golo- rife 2bar . took the del mar home with me . enough spent in one day .
  9. I ended up goin with titleist recommendation . based on ball speed . 15 and 19 fairway and 21 hybrid . I totally forgot about loft adjustments on these clubs , I always peg em to drivers only for some reason . so I hit the 910's today to get a feel , struck solidly , ordered up my 913's , and to tip the scale, a scotty del mar . I now have all new clubs for the season , still waiting on my gp niion grips.
  10. I'm having a little trouble on which lofts I should get to fill my gaps . I don't have the luxury to fit on l.m , so I must choose by loft. I'm not a long hitter , d-95 mph with about a 235 carry . need some help with what lofts in fw-hy i should get to fill the gap. I have 10.5* - 913d2 23* - 4i 825p I would want to fill with 913 series choices fw 13.5-15-17-19-21 hy 17-19-21-24 a 13.5 off the deck is not to well with me , could be used a optional driver at times? most par5 I can not reach in 2 . I would say I prefer 2 fw and 2 hy ?
  11. I found my jpx 825p on eBay for about $250 less than what I could get em for from any store . my specs , come straight from mizuno.
  12. I have a set of mizuno jpx 825p ,45' pw is 35.5",50' gw is 35.25 " . I then have cg rtx cb 56' bent to 55' - 35.25 stock and 60' @ 35.125 stock . what do I need for length in my cg wedges ? do I need to alter or is stock length ok ? also my fitting for irons standard length , and reg flex in kbs tours , with 2' upright lie angle . it seems more taller people need upright , I'm 5'10 . why would I need upright , swing flaw ?
  13. I do install my own grips . always one wrap tape on m58-.580 . I want to try with some build up under my right hand , see how it feels , what happens . didn't know if I needed to stagger the tape start/end or what ? is 2 extra wraps gonna feel a bump/ ridge ?
  14. how do you apply the xtra wrap(s) for under the right hand ? where/how do u start/finish ?
  15. I have installed for myself standard size grips with one wrap of d.s tape . this would be the ideal grip size for my hands. a far from using more tape wraps obviously to have a bigger grip for bigger hands even though can get mid or oversize grips . is there any benefit to using bigger grip than what is standard to say fingertips should just just or almost touch the hand pad ? is it just a feel thing or can it help open/close head as u swing through ? then as far as using buildup tape just under lower hand . what's the purpose of this ? again just a feel thing ? how would one go about adding buildup tape then , simple instructions on placement . thanks .
  16. if I were needed to have a wedge loft changed , say to 55 degrees , what should I use here a 54-12 or 56-14 ? changing loft would affect the bounce also , correct ? I'm not a big digger , and the sand here is typical sandbox crap .
  17. i am at least a 4 wedge setup . with all my irons sets I have had before I have always chosen to get the pw and gw to match the iron set and then whatever I choose for my sw and lw . usually cleveland wedges . is this common or would u say more choose to have all 4 wedges the same brand/model ? with the mizuno 825p would the pw and gw say have a little more forgiveness than say the cleveland rtx wedges ? by looking at my 4 wedge makeup, all cleveland rtx, I would have to have a 46 changed to a 45 , get a 50 , either take a 54 or 56 and changed to 55--, which way do I go here bend down or up ? , then a 60 . this is just to keep 5 degrees between my wedges .
  18. I'm having a hard time figuring out my setup . mizuno 825 pros ,9i-41 pw-45, gw- 50. when do players actually abandon the iron set and then go with Cleveland's or vokies ? keep or drop the set pw-gw ? then if I have a wedge loft changed , it affects the bounce also. for example I would want a 55 so should if choose a 54 or 56 to have loft changed ? input appreciated
  19. I'm on tapatalk right now . lets see if this posts? the only thing I noticed being on tapatalk is I can't send other pm . had to log into full website .
  20. I tried to order bad tag and ball mark on the website . it wouldn't let me add to cart . comes up "content cannot be displayed in a frame " could u reply with how I can order up thanks
  21. hello all , as it says how do u setup and hit a approach shot so when it hit the green it rolls out some ? just about all my approach shot hit the green and either hop a foot and stop dead or even backs up a little . sometimes I would like my approach shot to release and roll out . how do u setup and execute a shot like this ?
  22. I just got back into golf after about a 3 year layoff . started again in July once a week . last week shot my best of the year 77 , not my best ever though . just got to get my dad back on track , I go with him the most and yikes . being with the itch will be totally revamping my clubs come spring . which in turn means I won't be able to afford a club membership next year .
  23. need a little help with shaft tip size. where do I measure with caliper to get correct size? do I need to pull shaft to measure below the ferrule or where it would fit inside hosel ? because as I measure right above the ferrule I get .370 accordingly mizuno mx25 are to be .355 as well as Cleveland cg16 wedges . I found info that these are .355 taper tips. is there such as a .355 and a .355 taper tip as in 2 totally different shaft tips ? also I do not have stock shafts in my mizuno , have regular rifle 5.0 I plan to re shaft irons myself to save some install fees . doesn't seem like a hard thing to do .
  24. I will be re shafting my mizuno irons with kbs tour reg. I will also be getting all new Cleveland wedges . should I re shaft my wedges with the same kbs as my irons or even choose one of their specific wedge shafts? how well are companies standard " wedge"flex shafts ?
