  1. The R9 is a great club and if youre hitting your irons well... Why change? A new driver wont fix a slice... Indian not the arrow. You would be betteroff getting some lessons.
  2. well... Atleast Greenbrier greens crew are going to be happy.
  3. I just emailed the dude... we'll see if I hear anything back.
  4. And in agreeance that DaveHoleN1 isn't helping add any velitity to this.
  5. Yes, I found him. I'm active duty Army... In no way am I saying open up your check book to the guy. There are multitudes of ways to get equipment out there... most businesses will ship to APO addresses even... And there are multiple ways that this could still be a scam... During none of my tours (over 3 years deployed in the last 5 years) did I ever recieve a MWR package with golf clubs... mostly had hot chocolate (great on chilly130 degree days btw), baby wipes, etc. I did have a buddy that regularly got clubs from his wife though. First it was a putter he'd knock balls around on the carpet in the TOC, another was a wedge that he'd hit into his chair, and he ended up getting a Medicus 7i. Anyways dude could really be who he says he is... or couldn't be. Just wanted to say there's a chance on this being legit...
  6. Not at all saying this is legit; however, there is a SGT Richard Learmy listed in the Army Knowledge Online database.
  7. Oh and Foxfire etc is just too far out... Still nice communities though.
  8. Stay away from Fayetteville... Live in Moore County. Its small but has everything you need. Drive times to longstreet gate are below... Pinehust 35 to 40... I lived in No 6 and it was 35 however if you live out on Hwy 5 expect to add 10 min Southern Pines / Aberdeen 25 to 30 Vass 20 but its a little country Whispering Pines 25 where I live currently and love it The guys in my unit that live in fayetteville still drive 20+ due to traffic at the gate etc. Plus if you have school aged children you def want to live in Moore. Just stay away from Foxfire, West End, or Seven Lakes. If you want some more details just shoot me a pm... On a tablet atm so hate typing.
  9. Shafts can attribute, but so can your swing. Post up a video...
  10. I know the way my sun glasses are shapped along with my bill/hat it was more comfortable to wear them backwards. This was due to the hat causing the glasses to move fwd a half inch causing the arms to sueeze tighter...bent the frames slightly and viola... Simple fix.
  11. For me I'd go with the 2.0's just because they have a slimmer sole. My iron shots are rarely fat and I hit down on the ball taking a small divot after impact, so nothing gained with the wider soles on the Plus. Granted the wider sole would help if you're a sweeper with not hitting them fat and getting the ball up there. Disclaimer: This is just from looks alone... I haven't hit either club. I've held the 2.0's in the store and took a couple of make believe practice swings and that's it (however, on said practice swings I was consistantly hitting the ball 200 yards with the 8i ).
  12. Pay cash and use the GC's for other goodies. Win-win.
  13. So... think I finally figured it out at the range yesterday. During take away I focus on turning my torso to widen the arc during the down I make myself initiate with the legs first. Just doing those two things seems like it lines everything else up. Also modified my address a little... club 4 inches or so behind the ball and trying to mind my shoulder line in relation to my target line. Now just to see if it was a fluke or will I be able to repeat it. I'll try to take some video next time I'm at the range.
  14. 82.. Lol 4 man best ball.
  15. a box (15) WIlson SL9000 balls. Not good enough to spend big money on balls yet. I get upset knowing that I can loose 10 bucks in balls during one round lol, but at less that a buck a ball.... won't feel too guilty about hitting these Wilsons.
  16. If you're hitting a push slice, which it sounds like you're doing, then it sounds like an open club face resulting in the push and inside/out swing path. Try taking a stronger grip. The V - formed by your thumb/forefinger on the left hand should be pointed towards your right shoulder. That should help square your face at impact. There are several drills for correcting swing path... but the best I've found is videoing myself... seeing what I'm doing wrong and taking baby steps to correct it. Muscle memory is a pain to overcome.
  17. What about is in Pinehurst?
  18. 113... first 18 holes that I played though. 62 through the front and 51 on the back. In NC so my season never really ends. Hoping to break 100 before the end of the year.
  19. Ouch... sucks for that kid.
  20. What I'm thinking... I need to free up my right elbow, looks like I'm keeping it too close to my body which is throwing my line off and narrowing my swing arc. If I free it up the club should follow the swing path longer, not causing me to try to swing down on it, and as an added bonus... a wider swing path means more distance.
  21. I've been Playing Golf for: 2.5 Months My current handicap index or average score is: Only played 18 once (113), best 9 hole score is 48. My typical ball flight is: Straight to slight fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Recently developed a slice w/ Driver Videos (@ 30% Speed) DTL Face on
  22. look at your loop on your back swing / down swing... You're coming over top on your down swing by a good bit. Slow down and really focus on what your arms are doing. Do it by the numbers if you need to... or just do a half swing, 3/4 swing, full swing.
  23. This made me lol.
  24. Since she's just starting... have you considered Pinemeadow? They can do length changes... or you can just buy her a set and have them fitted.
  25. Forgot to add one thing to the bag... Keys to a 458 Italia in one of the pockets.
