  2. I admit being wrong quite often since I'm married with kids, Scott. I'm guessing there's a history here of walkers versus riders and I didn't want to stir that up. I'm not rider obviously and I'll never understand able bodied people choosing to ride unless it's blazing hot outside. I'm a dinosaur. I'll admit that too. I don't believe insulting someone then adding a smilie is any less insulting, but like I said, I'm very very old school. Pre-smilie.
  3. I'd also include the 10-12 foot putt with zero break. Much better at hitting to a spot when there's even an inch or two of break. That one's a mental thing.
  4. I agree that adding a smilie seems to give people carte blanche. I'm not asking for your approval to have an opinion either. Flame on.
  5. The hardest shot is one where the club I'd prefer is in the car or another bag (a 50 yard pitch off hard pan to a tucked pin over a bunker that gets a lot of play when I don't have my 60 degree wedge with me). I'd probably aim somewhere else on the green or take my chances putting it in the bunker.
  6. I never suggested anyone was "better" or "worse". Otherwise able bodied people choose to ride for a lot of reasons. I see it in person every week. I don't often see a rider playing every week with the same walker unless they have trouble walking but that's none of my business. That it does not make sense to me or that I never see it is not my business. I thought I was obvously posing my unwaranted query in a humorous manner, but I have learned that when it comes to walking and wedges (I think that was topic where I attempted to make a joke in a reply to you but it was completely misinterpreted). Most riders by choice are quick to point out their underlying health issues or environmental conditions or how they are (or used to be) a star athlete when not on the golf cours all of which seem to matter a great deal to them, until someone else asks for details and then why is completely a non-issue and off limits. Since I clearly don't know where the line so I'll avoid the topic. Why someone couldn't just say, "I ride because I prefer it" and leave it at that is not logical to me, so I will let it go. Why is that? It seems very common in this discussion that the walkers are getting to the green and next tee first and aren't slowing the riders down. In another discussion anyone suggesting a walker could keep up to rider was ludicrous. Logic fuzzy - topic avoided. I was curious about why people choose to get around the course the way do whereever it is they play. If that's considered snobbish in the USA I'll not ask it again on this USA based forum.
  7. There was a point? I'll make a list of topics to avoid to keep from offending players from Colorado and Florida. People who ride by choice is top of the list. No further comments. Edit: I'm serious. My sense of haha is wrong for this place.
  8. Lol- dude posted his health issues. I have an extra 25 bucks every time I walk and my BMI is probably below the national average (a lot of fatties in North America).
  9. Every week? Do you have trouble walking or extra money burning a hole in your pocket?
  10. I don't know their life stories as well as I thought. I've already commented more on this topic more than I cared to 3 posts ago, so carry on.
  11. Looked like he was struggling a lot of ways today - amazing round under the circumstances.
  12. You're brand new to golf and want to get your mom involved in it because she can buy cute accessories. I used to think golf was a sport. Going to have my clubs melted down now. Toodles.
  13. I didn't mean it as condescending as it sounded. I did think your entire comment was aimed at the person you were quoting. Nonetheless it we probably won't be sharing any guffaws any time soon.
  14. You should bookmark this thread. Come back when you're consistently breaking into the 90s and think about how you're still over 20 strokes away from scratch golf. If you're ever luck enough to get down to a 2.1 or to even play a lot with someone conistently playing off 2.1 on a variety of courses you'll realize how naive and condescending your query is. I'm neither offended nor insulted because I know it's a question from an absolute beginner who doesn't realize how many orders of magnitude scratch is from 10, let alone 39.
  15. It makes sense now even though they're on the same line. The return key is your friend.
  16. Were meaning to respond to the guy with the 280 driver and 170 yard 7-iron?
  17. Like a lot of kids who grew up playing contact sports in the school yard, I had a lot of mild concussions in my youth. Not sure if it's officially "vertigo", but when I read your routine I almost fell on the floor.
  18. 5 inches is close but maybe I meant build rather than stature. I said similar, not identical - like they can wear similarly cut clothing.
  19. Other than scrambles (barely golf) I've never been allowed to use a rangefinder in a tournament.
  20. My impression of the 712-MB is that it's one of the easiest to hit blades I've ever used (on par with the MP-33). Compared to other (especially older) blades it's essentially a game improvement blade. Some older Mizunos would (TP-9 rings a bell - could have that wrong) are like players blades . . . compared to modern blades. The FG62 is easy to hit but feels light, like a Cleveland or much older blade. PS. My original comment was in jest directed at the thread starter as if anyone actually used the term "players blade" in order to diferentiate between blades. I pictured something from the 1940s with a leather grip. Then when he posted a link to the 712s I realized that even within the genre of "blades" there's a wide variety of ease of use.
  21. The difference between a Republican or Democrat president might make a difference in your daily. I was speaking on behalf of my fellow Canadians and our elections, but even then I suppose there are some special interest groups that could lose or gain funding or some super wealthy people who might lose or gain even ways to hide their money.
  22. Those are fairly easy to hit. I'd consider them game improvement blades. You're probably looking for something from the 1960s and preferably with reverse camber, like a MacGregor or Hogan.
  23. Good call - no floods or other natural disasters ever happen over there!!
  24. Didn't people always have the right to vote in the US or was it only land owners? When did that change? Edit: Anyhoo - as a Canadian , I see people who are undecided, as a lot of people are when either outcome will have virtually no effect on their daily life and their riding is a lock for a certain party, so why is it seen as honourable to flip a coin and sway the outcome a fraction of a percentage point in either direction. We need to get over ourselves (here). Make a difference and take advantage of our freedom, by making positive changes by doing more than filling out a ballot.
  25. I see the swing and it's not logical for it to generate more power for someone who already generates decent clubhead speed and makes solid contact. It might generate more power for some people, but they must have been truly awful using a conventional swing.
