Yes I do come from the Ghetto, something wrong with that? You guys are just hurting my feelings now.

Childish? a good way to get decked? Ok, where's the childish comment about the jerk off who told me to go f myself? You afraid to get Decked? That's what I was giving him his chance to do. Where I come from, getting decked is preferable to letting some punk insult you. Win or lose is secondary. You say it's a good way to get decked, but judging by your post I doubt you would deck somebody.

Yes, I agree but I am older and wiser now. You just can't go around beating people up when they piss you off. Not worth losing a day of golf, let alone an assault charge.

Why does that matter? I am sure he heard it, it wasn't directed at him. It certainly didn't warrant telling me to fuc myself. Shoes on the other foot, I would've apologized for telling him it was saved after he dumped his balls on the ground. You don't have to buy it.

Played a nice course in Stockton this weekend, about an hour from my house. Regular foursome, it was going to be a good day. I check in and grab a club and head for the driving range to loosen up. I go to the nearest open stall and dump my bucket. Guy next to me says that he's saving the stall for his wife, ok I'm ok with that, but now I've got to pick up the balls I dumped, I muttered something like Jesus crist, ( Lord I apologize) and bend down and start picking up my balls and the guy tells me to go Fu%$k Myself. I was not believing my ears, I ask him if he just told me to f myself. Without waiting for an answer I walked up to about 6 inches from him looked into his terrified eyes and said f you and walked away, I was so mad I was shaking as I walked away. Took me awhile to calm down and then I went out on a tough course and shot a 90, my best in a long time. Thanks for allowing me to vent.

I decided to stop by my preferred golf shop today, it was on my way to a job and I needed a new grip for my XCG5 3 wood. I left with a new grip alright, but it was attached to a new XCG7 Beta 3 wood. Does this sort of thing happen to anyone else? Now I gotta feel guilty for a day or two, at least until I can get on a range with it. I hate when this happens.

Replaced the stock Project X stiff in my Optiforce last week with a Whiteboard. After a med bucket Saturday morning I decided to play this shaft this past weekend, the results were dramatic. I had to dial the loft up to 10.5 because of the low launch of the Mits, but I was hitting fairways and the feel of the shaft allows me pull through hard on the ball. I don't know that my distance is was any better but I'm sure my average for the two rounds I played went way up. It was like driving a Yugo for two years and then getting in formula 1 car. The feel of that shaft is way different, in a good way. Great shaft, now I know why it has such a following.

Opinions on Titleist NXT Tour S ball
madolive3 replied to arturo28mx's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
NXT tour s is a nice ball, I too lost a little distance with the S, I didn't mind though they feel pretty nice offf the club. I only buy higher priced balls when I run out of Gamers, the Topflite Gamer is so close to all of the $30/dozen balls that I am very happy with that. I have also recently played the Qstar,, E6 and both the NXT tour and tour-s. I bought someMax Fli Urethane u3s, (Rocks IMO), and was given a dozen HEX Chromes in a tourney I played in. I would gladly play any of the above mentioned balls they are all that close. The exception are the Max FLIs, Don't like them. For me the deciding factor here is price, the gamers are $15/Dozen and I think if the graphics were blacked out that most high to mid cappers couldn't tell the difference between all of the above balls until you hit your approach, I think the Chrome and the Tour s might check up a bit better. I ordered some balls from MG golf.com. They claim that these balls perform very close to the Prov-1 and they have test results to prove it on their web site, so at $20/Dozen I though I would give them a try. I'll post my impressions. -
Maxfli U/3 Golf Ball Review
madolive3 replied to Kfredric's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
i bought a couple of dozen of the thain U3 s to try. I was at Dicks where I normally buy my Gamers, I saw the deal on the Max Fli so I tried them. I am unimpressed. The Gamers feel softer and fly a bit further for me. I notice no difference on the greens other than the feel off the putter is better with the top flite. Just my opinion, but what I dislike the most about the U3 is it's too clicky of the club. -
Will a mallet style putter help me...?
madolive3 replied to amac's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just lost my blade putter. I went to a few different sporting goods stores, I was playing the next two days and I needed a putter. I tried several different putters. I noticed the the higher quality mallets were more stable on my take away. They also set up nicely behind the ball, I putted well with it and expect to get better with a little more time with it. Happy I made the switch. Mallets are better for me. -
I am back to using my razr fit. The Grenade is a nice driver and long, I just like my Fit better. I hit it longer and better, but I have hit alot of drivers and I can't find one I like better than my Razr Fit. I kept the Grenade in my bag for a couple of months, reshafted it, gave it a chance.

What's the loft on your 3W? You are tying to fill a twenty yard gap at 230 yards? What with different wind and turf conditions, different lie angles, seems like splitting hairs at that yardage. But if you must, I haven't found anyone who doesn't like the tour edge fairway woods. Try a xcg5 5 wood from ebay, they are 3 years old and you can get them fairly cheap. Their hybrids I am less impressed with and don't waist your time on a tour edge driver. But I have 3 woods, a 13 degree 3W and a 15* 3W and a 16.5* 4 wood and they make the ball fly a country mile and as straight as anything. Easy to hit off the turf. I have settled on the 15* for awhile, might put the 13* in my bag just to see.

Strength and Depth of Field in Jack's Day and Tiger's Day
madolive3 replied to Phil McGleno's topic in Tour Talk
Give the top 100 today clubs. Balls and training technology from the 60s and 70s. Now take the top 100 in Jack's day give them modern golf tech and the benefits of 30 or 40 more years of golf history to learn from. I think the comparison is not a valid one. Tiger back in Jack's day would still be Tiger, wouldn't be anymore or less accomplish ed than he is in his own day. My opinion. -
Most dangerous things you've seen on a golf course?
madolive3 replied to Vector Zero's topic in Golf Talk
We walked on the11th Tee at Cypress Lakes last summer and there was a baby Rattler right there on the Tee box. He was all of 12 inches long and just plane mean, no sense of humor at all. We should have killed it, they represent a very real danger on the course but we didn't, we tried to shoe it off the green with the handle of an iron. That little bastard latched on to the grip and wouldn't let go. Didn't want to shake the handle too much because he could've flew off and on to somebody. I have heard that the babies are dangerous because they don't control the bite, they bite and inject all of their venom, well that's true, we saw it first hand. Cypress lakes is the Travis AFB course in Nor Cal. -
I do it all of the time. Fortunately mine is in the form of sh177y putts.

Thanks again, the next time he asks why nobody called him, I'm just going tell him to learn how to play the game. He's 35, not like he's a kid.

It's very important to stay the course, no pun intended. I changed my swing last Sept. my thinking was that i wasn't going to ever break 80 so I changed. My scores went from upper 90s low100s before the change to 140s right after the change, it was brutal. So for the next couple of months it was 130s and 120s. As I struggled I learned and the light bulb slowly came on. I'm making strides and I have to play pretty bad to shoot over 100 now. In fact, I haven't scored over 100 in over a month now, shot a 90. Keep the faith, Find some fundamentals to fa;ll back on and stick with it. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure with this guy. One of our guys is teeing up a drive, at address and this knuckle head is taking practice swings on the tee behind him. We are on the green at 18, I'm putting for par, as I take my stroke he rips the velcro on his glove. Talking doesn't get thru to this fool, I've tried talking to him at times and he gets defensive.

We have a guy that plays with us occasionally who it seems is always asking me which club I'm using or how or where am I hitting my tee shot. He also takes several practice swings and takes forever on every shot. We hate playing with him but he works with us, so it's almost unavoidable sometimes. When does the clock start on his swing, is it forty seconds to take a shot and seeking advice from anyone but a teammate is a penalty? Thanks, I just want to be sure when I warn him that I'll start adding strokes to his score. Another thing, he also cheats when I ask him is score on a hole, he'll lie and shave some of his strokes., hate playing with the guy.

Super hacker to decent golfer..... Who's done it?
madolive3 replied to Fromthecoast's topic in Golf Talk
I'm 50 years old and I started golfing July 2011. When I started I was shooting in the 120s. I played and practiced 3 or 4 times a week. After a year my scores were in the low 100s and occasionally in the high 90s, even shot an 89. After 14 months I decided that with my current swing I wouldn't be getting much better, So I changed it, went back to the fundamentals from Hogan's book and my scores ballooned up into the 140s, I was exasperated, frustrated and wondering why I was playing a game that wasn't fun anymore. I stuck with it, am sticking with it. I am now shooting in the mid high 90s and I have to play pretty bad to break 100 the wrong way. Learn the fundamentals and stick with them. Stay away from the tips from pros on line and in mags, they just screw you up. I don't think I'm respectable yet, but I am getting close. The breakthrough for me wasn't some magical moment where I learned how to hit the ball straight, it was when I figured out that I could hit a bad shot or even two or three bad shots on any given hole and still manage just a bogey or a double, at worst a triple. good luck. -
99 for me today, unlike you I was happy with that score but disappointed in my ball striking. I chipped and putted well but got too aggressive on a couple of holes and shot a 9 on a front nine par 5 and a triple on a par3 with an 8 on a par 4 thrown in just for kicks. This is how I know that I am improving, when I am not hitting well and spraying the ball all over and I can still manage a double at worst. Today it was over aggression that cost me 6 or 7 strokes.

I would love to participate, but $80 for a round of golf is unjustifiable to me. Now $80 spent in a weeks time is common for me on a round or two and range time. I will keep an eye on this group though for future outings.
