  2. I had back surgery in 2002. They worked on 5 different levels of my lower back. I started playing golf 8 weeks later. You will probably never be pain free but they can probably fix you where you can play golf. Be sure and get more than one opinion from different doctors. Stay away from steel rods and bone graft if at all possible.
  3. Ditto on what he said.
  4. This is one of my favorite set of irons of all I have owned and I have owned a lot but you need to hit them in the center of the face.
  5. GPS signal does get messed up on purpose at times such as when Air Force one is in the neighborhood. Was told that by someone buying a 100000.00 surveying GPS unit and saw it happen first hand.
  6. I agree with what shooter said 100%. I play a ProV1 when I am serious and have not found anything else come close from 60 yards in.
  7. Where are you guys buying your golf balls?!?! I have never paid over 20 bucks a dozen for Bridgestone E5. I always get the latest year model with no logos. There are some great sellers on EBay to buy new balls from. I see no sense buying from a pro shop or sporting good store and paying those suggested prices. The only brand you won't find a huge discount on is Titleist unless you buy 12 dozen at a time in some cases.
  8. I really like Srixon balls and have played them a lot. I read all the hype about the Q Star and decided to give it a try. There are 2 things I do not like about it. There is no spin on short chip shots. The E5 checks much better. The other thing I didn't like is the dull yellow color. If I am going to play a yellow ball I want it to be bright like a NXT Tour S.
  9. A set of forged rods in a racing engine are the only type used. Cast are considered junk and for street use only. Cast crankshafts also junk compared to a forged crank. There is a big difference in price between the two also with forged being about 4 times higher. There is a big difference but I don't think so much when it comes to golf clubs. I think in years past it made a big difference because most all forged clubs were blades and hard as hell to hit but felt great when hit on the screws. I have found forged golf clubs have a smaller sweet spot and are much less forgiving on missed swings. They do get beat up easy in the bag and the loft and lie does change through use at times. The newer cast clubs feel as pure on well struck shots as any forged club too me.
  10. This is how I play with wedges also. I used to carry a lob wedge but found no need to after learning how to control my 56.
  11. Is it a stiff or regular flex? I bought mine with the stiff and bought a regular off Ebay for 65.00 and am very happy. A friend of mine has a senior flex that I hit very good with a smooth swing.
  12. Stand closer to the ball and hit with your right arm tucked close to your body with an open stance.
  13. I play the R11 irons and really like them. I haven't hit the others you mention but a lot of people have and they liked the R11's the best.
  14. I have a Skycaddie and a laser. I also have a IPhone 5 with GolfLogix on it. I use my IPhone for all my rounds after testing it side by side with about everything made. My friend that I play with a lot has the latest and greatest laser with slope but I still find my iPhone with the GolfLogix works better for me. Could it be he is giving me wrong readings trying to beat me?
  15. Didn't mean to step on any toes and make anyone mad. They do play Bridgestone and Srixon balls on many tours and I think I have seen Volvik or whatever the Korean ball is called. Payne Stewart and Lee Trevino might have played Top Flite. You are right about John Daly.
  16. Don't you think any ball company would furnish balls for free to a pro just so they would be seen playing their ball. Ever see a Top Flite being played on TV?
  17. My thoughts are the same as yours. A Top Flite is a Top Flite. They can't get a player on any tour to play them even for pay so why would anyone want to buy them?
  18. Me or you one must have been smoking crack.
  19. I have never liked the NXT balls in years past but I must say for 2012 they have come up with some great balls. You should get a sleeve of each and try them out. I have always played the Bridgestone or Srixon balls when I was not playing a good course or not hitting the ball good in place of my favorite ProV1. From now on it will be the NXT Tour S for me when not playing the ProV1.
  20. I tried the TP5 and didn't like anything about it other than it feels great off the putter. All my clubs are TaylorMade and I really like them but everybody's balls are better than theirs as far as my game goes.
  21. I finally got to play both balls together. I had been playing the Tour S and liked it very much. I never liked the NXT line of balls in years past. From what I had been reading I thought I was really going to like the NXT Tour. I thought it would be longer than the Tour S(wrong) and I was thinking it was going to check better on short shots because it is a 3 piece ball(wrong again). I don't know how Titleist has come up with a 2 piece ball that performs like this ball. For me the NXT Tour S is longer, softer feeling, and checks up better than The 3 piece NXT Tour. Has anyone else found the same to be true for them? I used to hate the NXT balls but not anymore.
  22. I don't find the Q Star to check up on short shots. Runs like an old Topflite for me. The e5 works great for me.
  23. The e5 Bridgestone is what you will like the best in that price range. I buy them anywhere from 18 to 21 dollars a dozen. The Titleist NXT Tour S is a very good and surprising ball but it is going to cost you more money. I tried the Srixon Q Star and found it to be a no spin ball around the green and is clicky off the putter. Some people like the click and I could live with it but I want a ball to check chips and pitches. The B330s is a good ball and so is the Srixon Z Star and you can get some good buys on them when a new model comes out. When it's all said and done the ProV1 and ProV1X have no rivals that are equal to them but there are some good balls that will get you by depending on how you hit the ball. I saw a guy back a noodle up about 3 feet on a flat green with a 9 iron yesterday.
  24. I have the C130 and its the first time I have ever been satisfied with my golf bag. I have had it for about 4 or 5 years now and I have quit bag hoing.
