  1. Every member here has given you good information and what works for me may not work for you. I hit a power fade and love it. I don't want to hit a draw and I have been a 1 handicap but now a 9. Try this and if it works after 30 balls you've fixed it, if not back to the drawing board. Grip the club with the left hand for a right handed golfer so you see 3 knuckles. Bring the right hand over the left thumb so you only see the one knuckle of your right index finger. The feeling is that your right palm is in the gap of the left thumb and left index finger. The grip pressure is a 3 in the last 3 fingers of the left hand and a 1 on the right hand. Waggle the club and it will feel oily not tense. Tee the ball so the top of the driver is even with the equator of the ball. Set up square stance ball played off the left breast pocket. Swing the driver straight back with you shoulders do not roll your arms or hands, at the top make sure your left wrist is flat and your left arm is over you right shoulder. Left arm straight or flexed not bent. Make sure the shoe box is by the ball as posted. Take something that you can lay flat on the ground at a 45 degree angle from the inside of the ball that will line up to the butt end of the grip at back swing stop position. ( I use cloth tape or marker paint}. On the down swing pull the butt of the club toward your left knee, your hips turn your back faces the target as long as possible swing your arms and the club head to the inside of the ball at the one O'clock position toward the ball. 3 feet before you strike the ball roll your right hand over you left. Left hand is square( flat) at impact This is what I do and it works for me. I do it in slow motion first and then hit a practice ball. You have to leave the hands out of the swing until the roll of the right hand. Then like post said find out how much you have to roll the right hand over the left. There are a 100 different methods, you just have to find one that works for you. This is old school but is has worked for many.
  2. After 57 years playing golf and 25 years teaching golf I have torn both tendons in the right and left forearms. The surgeon told be he could repair them but could not guarantee the outcome of the operation. I use a strap on both arms after rubbing them with Icy Hot or other products and I think I have tried them all and I play 18 holes just fine. Be careful of cortizone because I was told it could cause a fatty liver. I've had way to much cortizone. I look like I'm a baseball player with all the wraps I have and on my wrist and fingers. I now have to use a five finger grip and I went back to the Moe Norman swing and I try to sweep ball. I took to deep of a divot in my youth. Good feed back from the members and Good Luck.
  3. Thanks for the replys. On 18 at my home course I hit a tree with my drive and had 200 yards to the pin. I took out my trusty 3 iron and played the ball back in my stance and hit the top center of the ball. The ball was about 5 feet off the ground all the way to the green but went 25 yards over the green. The Moongoose swing must me more like a low punch shot. I think we have to find more ways for golfer's to play better, faster because the younger generation is not taking up this wonderful game. I haven't had time to practice the Moongoose swing but will give it a try when the rain stops.
  4. This is not a joke! Has anyone tried the Mongoose golf swing? If you have please give me some feed back? Thanks, Dirt Digger.
  5. That happened to me and I felt like I was a burden to the instructor and it was a waste of time. So I taught myself passed my PAT the first time and became a PGA apprentice. Teach yourself using video and with all the information on the web you can do it and you will feel better about your game. Work hard.
  6. I use the Trevino swing and to hit the ball with a draw, I use an open stance with a strong left hand grip and a weak right hand grip and make a circle 8 swing. To fade the ball I take the club outside and and cut across the ball. I can't tee the ball high but 1/2 " lower. It corrects the over the top swing. I turn the left hip back and post on a straight left leg. If the up right swing doesn't work for you give this swing a try. I have never had any injuries with this swing. Good Luck
  7. JH really knows how to teach and explain the correct moves in a golf swing. He is as good as any teacher out there and I am grateful for his message.
  8. I wish I could say it is easy. Some days you can do nothing wrong and some days it doesn't go as well. These are suggestions that I have found work for me and other students. I hope it will help someone but I know not everyone can feel the same type of swing I describe and that is why there are many swing theory's out there. Find the one that works best for you and stay with it.
  9. First I'm all for having clubs that fit your swing speed, lie angle, loft, correct grip etc. I have repaired, fitted, re-gripped or built clubs for about 54 major winners on all tours out there. I also know you have to work out and keep flexible and practice. The eyes are not talked about to much in the golf swing. Next time on the practice range look at the front of the ball and swing. After you get use to this, look and inch in front of the ball and try to work up to 12 inches. Find out where your distance spot in front of the ball gives you the most distance and straightest shot. Give this 2 weeks on the practice range. What this does do? Some golfer follow the club back with there eyes. Others become ball bound and this can make you try to hit at the ball and come over the top and not swinging to strike the ball, you are using hands and arms only. The eyes looking at the front of the ball makes your right shoulder swing under your chin so all your swinging parts move in the correct order and are not restricted by the right shoulder going outward. Try this when putting. Give it 2 weeks and if doesn't work for you, forget it. I hope this helps someone.
  10. Remember on the back swing let the arms follow the shoulders. This may be more inside than you are use to. Now all you have to is turn the hips and drive the right knee toward the left knee . Do this is slow motion and you will see your hands are ahead of the club head and your right elbow is next to your side letting the lower body swing the arms. It works, no over the top.
  11. I know what you feel in the pain thing. I have had it for 9 years. Went to graphite shafts. Rubber plugs in the butt end of shaft to reduce shock. I was a digger and now pick the ball with a dollar bill size divot. It took awhile to change my swing. I only use my hip and knees to swing, my arms and hands just hold on to the club. I haven't lost any distance because I swing it in to out for a draw. I have had many cortizone shots and use natural items already posted. Aspircream before I play or practice. I also use DMSO, capcium cream and Voltaren gel. Appel cider vinegar and I mix yellow mustard in water and drink it. I only take pain pills when nothing else works. I stopped taking all dairy products, sweets and salts. I work my hand with a rubber ball. I will not let this overtake me. You have to use you mind to fight the pain to. I hope this helps.
  12. I'm not bragging at all but I shot a smooth 73 and I'll tell you how I did it for those you have tried everything out there. I don't believe this is the only swing that works but if you are having a difficulty finding something that works give it a try. If you already have a good swing this is not for you. Take a 2 knuckle grip with a pressure of 3 and your arms hanging like limb ropes. Stand tall with a slight bend in the knees. Feet shoulder width apart for all clubs. Ball position Off heel with driver, 3metal off breast pocket then move ball back 1/2 inch for the other clubs until you reach the 7 iron to lob wedge is in the center except for specialty shots. Turn your shoulders and let your arms swing back with no pressure in you hands or arms the left arm can bend some, raise the hands in-line with the ear and at ear height. The left hand will have a slight cup in it. The back hip will turn as far as possible the chin will be under the shoulder or bicep depending how far you can turn. Now turn your left hip back to the left and your right knee down the line and then let the club head follow as the back of the left hand squares up and then rolls over and the shaft touches your left shoulder. The main idea, is to turn the left hip and right knee down the line and this pull the arms and hands in the correct position. Make slow swings at first and don't get in a rush and this will work for you. Drill Hold the shaft on your right shoulder then make your left hip and right knee pull the club into the ball. *Warning check with a health professional before attempting these movements. Lefty' s just reverse these moves. I hope this helps someone!
  13. Jump rope for 10 min. 3 sets. Hit 150 balls. Pulled 100 lb weight tied around waist for 30 min. Pulled rubber tubing 30 min for chest and arms.
  14. Last 3 days where very windy 30mph I shot 76,81,81, today no wind and shot 73 putting was very good on tough greens, tree line course. Today I used a modified stack and tilt swing with weight stay 50/50 and no early pop up, it really felt good. I have so many swings who know what I will use the weekend. But that's what makes my game fun I never stay with one swing to long unless I'm playing for money.
