  1. with that kind of swing speed, wouldn't you get 6.0's or 6.5's ? 92 MPH on a 6 iron is fast.
  2. i'm looking forward to the new vokey wedges although i've decided not to buy any new equipment until 2010. ( that will prob. change but we'll see )
  3. i would highly recommend getting custom fit for clubs. I have been fit for my irons and since changing to +1" longer and 3º upright, my ballstriking has improved dramatically. def. get it done!
  4. what i would do is try to get to a golf shop and try out a few different size grips. whatever you like the best, put on your clubs.
  5. precepts are pretty good distance balls, at least in my experience. tell us how they work for you.
  6. standard lie angle (even though i'm actually 0.1º upright lol) and 3.5º of loft. BTW, when i ordered my custom odyssey putter, it came with literally 0º of loft and that had to be adjusted. MAKE SURE TO GET FIT FOR YOUR PUTTER AND HAVE IT ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY!!
  7. Titleist is re-doing their entire Vokey line so look out for that soon.
  8. to each their own i guess but the AP2's are certainly very solid clubs.
  9. someone should host something in PA or NY.
  10. if you have the money to spend, treat yourself and get whatever you want.
  11. if you started college in 2002, then your D1 eligibility is gone, as is your D2 eligibility. You can play D3 however, at any age, as long as you have gone to school less than 10 semesters.
  12. once you begin college, you either have 10 semesters or five years to play four. for example, if you started school in fall 2006, you would have until fall 2010 to complete four years of eligibility at Division 1 or Division 2. D3 however, there is no time or age limit. You just have to have not been enrolled full time for more than 10 semesters. I, for example, have gone to college in Fall 03, Fall 05 and Spring 06. I'm 23 years old and just now going back to school in the fall of 08 but i still have 7 semesters of eligibility at D3. Get my drift?
  13. thought you might want to check this out. http://golf.about.com/od/equipmentre..._091008a_2.htm
  14. So, i've got my first college tournament this Friday. The St. Joseph's College Fall Classic at Pine Ridge Golf Club in Coram, NY. Our team is brand new at Purchase College. Right now, we only have four guys but it's looking pretty good. We played 9 holes at Doral Arrowwood today, par 35 and shot 40, 40, 41 and 42. Not great but acceptable for D3 in the fall. Anyways, i'll let you guys know how i do. I'm looking forward to this!
  15. i like to know that my balls have some substance in them.
  16. the 2008 editions don't release until sep. 5th i believe. i cannot wait for them though! the new 330 and 330S are both 4 piece balls, the 330 for 112+ MPH driver speeds and S for 105-112. I'm going to try out the 330S first and then we'll see how it performs.
  17. I'm pretty excited to try out the new Bridgestone B330S. It looks awesome! 4 piece for tour average 105-112 MPH swing speeds? sounds great!
  18. i am in the same boat. just got myself some new titleist irons and want to get matching wedges but, i think as you are, i'm going to wait for the black nickels to come out and then get re-fitted in the spring for them along with all of the 909 woods.
  19. born and raised in the Bronx, NY and i hate the yankees. they are a complete joke.
  20. not sure about golf but when i play hoops with people who aren't good, i never give it my all as i feel like i'm already beyond them. however, when i'm playing with college or pro players in basketball, i always give it my best because i want to show myself that i belong with them.
  21. i never have a problem finding the near accurate distance to the pin with my rangefinder, it's just common sense. You take the estimate of how far you think you are, let's say 175 yards. You zoom in on the pin and if the reading says 225, you're obviously looking at something other than the pin but if the rangefinder reads 179 4x in a row, that's prob. pretty close to accurate.
  22. i'm wondering what callaway's next version of their x forged will be. The X Tours were cool and i like these but hmmm we'll see.
  23. i keep my wedges at a slightly less lie angle than irons. i.e. irons are +1" longer, 3º upright. wedges are still +1" longer but 2º upright.
  24. Winn Xi7 for woods: best choice i ever made. As for irons, i'm using crossline full cords. I love them as well.
  25. want to hit from the inside? get to the top of your backswing and when your wrists hinge, DO NOT pull your arms down to the ball. if you feel a PULLING down, then you're prob. too tight and you're going to come over the top. Instead, when you hinge at the top, try to PUSH your thumbs down into the grip and DROP your arms and match the clubhead to the ball. PUSH, don't PULL.
