  1. Well, he did shoot 2 under in 4 holes so I have to agree with you here. You are absolutely correct though, Cink played great even though he missed some rather easy putts on the back. At least 2 I can think of. All in all, I thought the tournament was incredible despite the playoff. Leading up that was so intense I have no more fingernails.
  2. The part about the downward spiral was reaching too. The guy is 10 times tougher mentally and physically then any other player on tour in my opinion. Yes he has been somewhat inconsistent lately, but this is not abnormal for any golfer really. In fact, I'm going to put my money on him to win the PGA by 5 shots or more. That's how confident I am that he will end 2009 with a bang.
  3. "obnoxious little twit?" Really? I just think people expect more from Tiger because he is better. Now ask yourself, is that fair? I'm so tired of hearing the "role model" thing. You know, anytime people want to get their way in this country, they gotta bring the kids into it. What about the kids? I don't want my kids seeing that. What if my kid was watching that channel/playing in that street/watching that show at 3am, ahhhhh! Seriously, it's such a cop out. I think the average person is just insanely jealous that Tiger is who he is and want a reason to judge him. We love to judge other people, it's in our blood. And since all of us are guilty of dropping f-bombs and throwing the occasional club, we pull the kid card. If you want to stop hearing his curse words, tell the networks to pull the mics. You wouldn't expect football players to abstain, would you? But what about the kids?
  4. My short opinion is that I don't particularly care for some of his behavior, but stop short of criticizing him for it. All in all, I think he is a great role model for the game, but he is also a human being, and a very passionate one at that. Perhaps he will become a little wiser and self-controlled as the years progress.

    Tom Watson

No thanks, fake lips and probably fake everything else.
  6. SO bummed for Tom. Hit a perfect shot into 18 and he was dead straight all day long. Almost seems unfair. I bet Lee Westwood is kicking himself right now for that 3 jack on 18.
  7. Overreact much? The guy missed a cut, lets not poo poo on his extraordinary career. Yes Jack played against some legends, but Golf is much more competitive now and it is much harder to stand out (i.e. win multiple majors).
  8. I like the front 9 at Polo Trace, but the back is a bit unsightly with that ravine running along the course. Played Deer Creek last week for the first time in a while and loved it. Hard to say anything bad about Parkland CC. Greg Norman design in pristine shape. Too bad the developer went bankrupt. Inverrary is nothing like it used to be. We played some of our home matches there in HS. Played TPC Eagle Trace last week and that was a treat as well.
  9. Now there's a REAL woman!
  10. Quit lying, you have a thing for Nancy Lopez and Pat Bradley.
  11. A buddy of mine followed Tom in the Tuesday practice round at Augusta this year. He was the last guy on the course. They stood behind him at 18 tee when Tom crushes one down the middle. He turns around and says, "wow, that was long." Apparently it still feels good to crush one after 50 or so years of golf and a handful of majors. I love Watson's swing too, so bummed when he lost the 91' Masters to Woosie.
  12. Aren't 1 and 3 pretty short?
  13. I think the question is, how fast are the greens during club championships (or other major tournaments), not how fast they are all year long. For those who don't know, clubs typically double cut and/or roll greens to make them much faster during tournament play. I've played a member/guest as a guest at my fathers club in NC for 11 years running. Their greens are blazing fast and the rumor is they run at a 13 or so. Again, not official word but I'll make sure to ask the Superintendent this year when I see him. The tourney is in 2 weeks.
  14. True, I didn't realize he was talking about summer. Courses can be super cheap down here, especially the more inland they get where breezes are less commonplace and it gets crazy HOT.
  15. Funny. Well, of course I would never say anything so as not to be rude.
  16. I like how you put less than 1 as an option. Is that even possible? Maybe in frisbee golf. In any case, I think the poll is interesting, but I'm guessing it's conjecture for some. The tournaments I've played in don't explicitly state what the greens are rolling at, but you always hear numbers through the grapevine so to speak. I think the poll would be better served at more minute and relevant increments. e.g. 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, etc... Just my opinion.
  17. 1 footnote to my post. That entire area (Carmel, Pebble Beach) is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. Simply amazing. I absolutely cannot wait to go back. It makes South Florida look like East St. Louis.
  18. Funny post! I live only a short ride away and have never been there if you can believe it. I do have some friends that drove up and from what I recall, said it was quite nice. I'm sorry I don't have any better info for you. Speaking of houses though, you can probably pick up one for really cheap there, Port St. Lucie is pretty much the foreclosure capital of the world.
  19. Yeah, I've heard great things as well. Have you spent much time in Idaho? I haven't been there but heard and read it is really a well kept secret.
  20. That was a huge putt on 18.
  21. I have indeed heard of "throwing the butt of the club at the ball" or something to that effect. For me personally, it is something like that. Sometimes when I find myself losing power, I simply focus on maintaining that angle between the club and my right arm on the first move down towards the ball. After that it takes care of itself. I don't think about maintaining lag or anything like that. If my first move down is correct then I am good. I'm sure there are plenty of players who have more lag than me, but I think mine is pretty good for my caliber.
  22. Agreed as well. People who don't drink somehow think that all problems are caused by those who do. "GET IN THE HOLE" is something only an idiot would yell regardless of toxicity in the blood. Seriously, I can't understand why anyone would even bother. It's been done literally thousands of times on national TV so why would anyone even think that is funny?
  23. -I hate clubcovers and it bothers me immensely when I play with people who take them on and off after each shot. The putter cover is the worst. I think it's unnecessary and a waste of time -I rarely take a practice swing for a full shot -Sunglasses on, all the time -Visor on all the time
  24. This is a very serious offense we are talking about and matched in severity only by tearing off one of those "do not remove under penalty of law" mattress tags.
