  1. I'm a lefty. Whenever my buddy and I tee it up with another 2 some, the thing that absolutely stands my hairs up is the oldest saying in the world. "No wonder he can't golf, he's standing on the wrong side of the ball" I came close to taking a head off with a 460CC after I heard it the 30th time. Get a life guys, Michaelangelo and DiVinci were left handed. I'm proud to be in that group
  2. I'm part of that crowd. We wouldn't react at all.
  3. Another P.C. snob It's his right to thank whomever he wants. Good for him
  4. My local course, north of Chicago has been a ghost town the last two weeks. Although it's great to play in 3 hours or less, they need the business to sustain the facility. I hope things perk up. Oh, and the weather has been beautiful, so thats not the issue.
  5. My take is you're going to see a lot of him going forward. He looked pretty cool, calm and collected all through the tournament, as well as the playoff hole. This win gave him the memtal confidence that he can compete with the big guys. Ice water in his veins.
  6. I think it's great that he says what he believes. God bless the youngster.
  7. Look, I'm a 21 handicap due to stupid playing last year. This year (May) I've already dropped 5 shots per round in 2 outings by reading and practicing 2 books called "zen golf" by Joseph Parent and "unconscious scoring" by Dave Stockton. I have a temper, but these books and techniques, (Stockton on technique) (Parent on mental) have made a BIG difference in my approach and mental well being when I approach the next shot. I'm calm, composed and am having the most fun........and dropping strokes.
  8. when you're 240 yards from the green, and your 3 wood only carries 200 at best, you still go for it and end up in a bunker, trap or worse yet a hook or slice puts you in the woods. All because you tried to kill it. An easy 5 or 6 iron would have kept you in the fairway, 80 or 90 yards away using a high pitching wedge to stick it. No hero shots lowers scores.
  9. How's the fashion statement doing?
  10. Forget the last hole, don't think about the next hole, stay in the present on the shot you're about to hit. The results will be at the end of the round.
  11. MEfree Take a deep breath. Did you pick Ricky in the office pool? Look at my handicap. HA!
  12. Phil had a pretty good day today. Rory is going to have to pick up the pace. Ricky.........Well, he's just being pretty boy Ricky who can't get it done. Intimidated earlier by Tiger and now by Phil.
  13. O.K. Update from post #32 earlier. Shot a 94, 50 front, 44 back. Best part after reading the book, "Zen Golf" is I never lost my temper, swung without thinking about 18 things, stayed in the present, not the last hole, not the next, and only focused on the next shot. Most of all, I enjoyed the round! 80's are on tap!
  14. Anywhere in the U.K. regarding the Kings language is better than our slang! Ha!
  15. welcome to the forum. Good to have another golfer who speaks the "proper" english. HA!
  16. I'm no pro, but it sounds like mental and course management might be your issue(s). I'm in the process of reading this book and I swear this guy knows all my faults. His solutions make all the sense in the world. I'm playing tomorrow for the first time since absorbing some of his teachings. I'll update. My best rounds have been 90. I believe with his direction, I'll break into the 80's shortly. Buy it, trust me. "Zen Golf: Mastering the mental game" by Joseph Parent
  17. Let's remember he's with NBC who owns MSNBC who employs the #1 racist on the air.............Al Sharpton.
  18. I actually have sent three putters to their watery grave. Yesterday I three putted the first four holes, but I brought the putter back home. I must be getting old. I play twice a week with my neighbor in Florida, and last week I beat him by 5 strokes. I have been telling him for 6 months to get his clubs re-gripped. The grips are dry and slippery. On Saturday we went to the golf shop and he got re-gripped. Yesterday he beat me by 10 strokes! So I'm 3 putting and he's shooting his best rounds! He owes me big time!
  19. Every post above this one is negative, but in the poll the overwhelming majority love it. Hows that possible unless the positive posts are getting deleted! No channel is perfect, but all in all I love the stattion. (Too bad NBC owns it) There's a reason its the fastest growing network on the air. Sorry the guys on the "Morning Drive" are not entertaining to you "elitists" Just my .02
  20. Oh, and by the way, my favorite guy was the character Rodney Dangerfield in "Caddy Shack".............A real guy everyone would like to be. HA!
  21. Because this is a country where you can make choices. Screw the PC crowd. Why do people insist on gas lawn mowers? 'Cause they want to!................ Who needs a Harley? Anyone who wants one. Who needs a boat? Why own an airplane? etc. etc. etc. I drive a 2012 Mustang GT with 412 H.P. It's my choice, my gas costs. I had a V12 Mercedes sedan that weighed 5400lbs. Why? 'Cause I could.
  22. So you're here to create arguments as most trolls do on various forums........... Pitiful
  23. Sounds fair to me. I couldn't stand to watch Jim Colbert in the 70's the way he strutted around, put his arm around other golfers, grinned everytime the camera was on him, wore is collar up and had the sailor cap. He struck me as an aloof boor. Maybe if I had beers with him I might think different also.
