  1. I used a 3-wood instead of a driver for a long time, and it actually works more than fine. If you have a good long iron game you won't even notice the difference...

    Euro 2008

Ok, fist Euro Final in a LOOOONNNNGGG time. It seems we finally were able to do something!!! Vamos, vamos, vamos Furia, vamos vamos a ganar!!!!
  3. Mine is about 7 yds between them..
  4. Yes, indeed you are right. I think I read over it and didn't notice. My mistake
  5. I never said there was something wrong with them I meant I find them quite aesthetically incorrect. I really don't think that's something stupid to say, and I wouldn't be calling someone "stupid" just because he hurt my deepest feeling for a brand of clubs. But I guess your lack of respect does say a lot about your education anyway...
  6. Hehehe Great hehehe
  7. -Ryuji Imada: I know he's thin and everything, but he surely grew up around Jui-Jitsu back home and he might be a lethal weapon. -K.J. Choi: Same reason as the above but with Tae Kwon Do plus the Boxing Bonus -Weekly: In case we need some rude no technique street fighting...
  8. I might be mistaken, but I hink the 460 CGB an R7 TP do wave weights
  9. Thank God you posted! I was starting to think I was the only moron who took more than a couple of months to break 100. Well, I guess there are some of us who ust aren't that talented...
  10. Well, Titleist has some great equipment of course but I can't go over the fact their drivers, woods, and most irons are absolutely horrible. Even if they were the best brand and everything was "the best", I still don't like the way they look, and that makes a huge difference for me in performance. I usually do much better with equipment I like the way it looks since I feel much more comfortable.
  11. Are u planning on golfing in your Honeymoon?
  12. I'm from the idea I would prefer people to dress nicely in the course, but if I have to choose between the cargo shorts and the brithish flag pants I would go for the first one inmediately
  13. SO how about women's apparel? Are u OK with everything right now or do you guys have some exclusions as well? If you think about it, some of the skirts you see in the tour are probably way too short for the "elegance" (not for the cheering audience ) of the sport, ain't I right? Cheers

    Golfing Solo

I love playing solo, its kind of relaxing. You just concentrate on your ball, its wonderful. Maybe not for doing so everyday, but its interesting to have some free time with yourself without much noise around...
  15. I guess when you devote your life entirely to something, its easier to come up with stuff like that. I can perfectly differentiate a 5-0 from a 6-0 surgical suture, and the difference is only half of a tenth of a millimeter (0.2 and 0.15mm), but I work with them every bloody day of my life. I'm sure someone who swings a club every day for half their day would notice a minimal difference.
  16. Sorry, you are right, I was referring to knockoffs...
  17. This is going nowhere mates, and I think is about time to finish this ridiculous discussion. We should better sum it up and draw the BOARD conclusions: 1.Call before hand to know if you are wearing the proper garment and ask if you are aloud a white doctor coat. 2.It is OK to play in a Tuxedo as long as its not a Cargo Tux 3.If you have no dress code where you play, you should try to get a huge Mexican Hat to complement your outfit. 4.The rule of the ¼ sock in the NSW Country Club which I belong to is just stupid 5.G-String Bikini LPGA should be mandatory for under 40s Now all of you get your Keneth COle trousers and hit the range! Get a life!!!!
  18. Hey! all my pants are Kenneth Cole! hehehehe (seriously)
  19. I like having diffeent brands, it makes you look like if you knew how to play (so you can give excuses to every poor shot you mae ). Its difficult to actually like EVERYTHING from one brand, and you might keep yourself away from things which would me much more proper for you just to stay with your loved brand. I wanted to keep everything PING in my bag since I like the way the brand's name "sounds", and I was using some G5s at the moment. Before that, most stuff in my bag where PING. afterwards it was funny. I had to change a wedge for a Cleveland CG 10, then I got a Cobra 4I, then I changed my short irons for Titleist blades, and now a days I only have a PING hat and 5-7 irons. It just doesn't work mate, even if you try lol
  20. Hahahahahahaha That is the best golf joke I've heard in my life. You made my day hehehe
  21. Unfortunately for some, advantageous for others, golf has to be maintained that way, it’s a sport which would always have to keep some kind of “impression” and “elegance”. If you look at the brands which sponsor golf, you find things like Cadillac, Rolex, Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz, which are not normally linked with the average Joe. To keep sponsors “sponsoring” (sorry for the redundancy), and keep winner’s bags around the million dollars as they do now, you need to keep wealthy people interested in the game, and make it profitable. Have you ever seen the “Yves Saint Laurent Checkers Tournament” or “Bentley Judo Competition”? Have you ever followed the “Bang & Olufsen Beach Soccer Open”? No, because if you are a sponsor, you want to reach the sport which would deliver you the most profit. If golf was to change, Rolex would turn its head to Polo, Cricket or any other sport which would deliver them what they want. It’s obviously about economical interests, like it or not. Thankfully, that economical interest has put more golf in T.V. and more money in technology development to make US ALL GOLFERS HERE HAPPIER THAN EVER: So golf is to remain that way, to keep its snobbish image to keep money coming, and you guys should leave that aside and play more golf I guess. Cheers
  22. That's the beauty of the sport: you do need to have talent, its not only about what you can afford to have, or what you might like to wear. I used to rock climb when I was younger. When I decided to re-take golf some years ago, I remember my rock climbing friends telling me something similar to what they told you “hey, so now you are a doctor and you need a snobbish sport to match your surgeon attitude, right?” We sat down and we compared how much did golf gear and rock climbing gear cost, and the result was surprising. I could get a complete top of the line golf package for around the same amount I could get a complete set of gear for rock climbing, with the huge difference climbing gear wears out quite quickly (about two years). As well, going to the golf course once a week was as expensive as travelling to the blue mountains (place where I climbed near Sydney) once a week, and the practice range was actually cheaper than indoor climbing. The funny thing is you think of a rock climber and you think of this hippy-type “I have not gotten a bath in a week” artist, while you think about a golfer and you think of an immaculate beautifully dressed lawyer, when you actually pay more for the first situation
  23. I guess I should have answered "every 9 holes" instead, since that's the rate I aproximately loose a ball in this ocean side courses hehehe
  24. That is exactly the peak of the problem. People who are willing to spend $75,000 a year in a Country Club like to look "upper class", and avoid that "new money" image as it has been called (I want to make clear I'm not in favour or against this, and I'm not criticizing anything nor saying people in cargo pants are slobs, nor saying I love Villegas’s pink stretch slim fit pants). The thing is, Golf has always (I don’t want anybody coming here telling me I’m wrong because in 1873 there was a law in Dublin which said you could play being poor sponsored by the Royal Andrew’s or something) been related to money. Little by little, it has been changing, and public courses are available almost everywhere in the world. This has lead to more people playing golf, and more people from different upbringings taking over the game. The reason to pay $100,000 a year is you are exclusive; it’s the only way they can keep people paying. Golf is no longer exclusive, so they have to maintain something to keep their members happy, and those are always exclusions. Just entering a country club is difficult enough, you need to have this and this reference, you need to be known by this guy or that one there, you need to have at least three Ph. Ds, etc. It’s always about exclusion. I’m not saying I’m against it, I’m just saying this is what happens. Same reason why you enter 372 Tetsuya (one of the finest restaurants in the world) and you need to have a shirt and jacket. If I owned a golf course I could use ANY rule I would want to. I might oblige people to wear 70’s coloured shirts and ban the use of any Afro with a diameter of 10cm or higher. I agree some rules are stupid like the one wearing ¼ socks in the NSW Country Club as I mentioned before, but those are the rules of the place. Isn’t it as stupid as any rule in any other sport? I don’t know if I’m aloud to swim with a bow tie and a Spiderman mask in the National competitions. There is a rule for everything and a rule for everybody. If they don’t apply to you, then don’t follow them, and as Fourputt does, just leave the place. Ain’t that just easy? By the way, and I’m serious about this question, does anybody know if I’m aloud in a tuxedo in a golf course??? THanks
  25. Well mate, like everything in life, there are some sacrifices which have to be made. I guess after Gulbis passes by you won’t remember Ms Lopez…
