  1. I know Tiger plays a 7.5, Diamana whiteboard shaft too i think
  2. I thought Sergio putted better than I've seen him in a long time. He missed an awful lot of 3 footers in the past. He's always been one of the purest strikers of the ball in the game, especially with his long irons. I agree that his attitude has improved and I think that he will win a major in the next 2 years.
  3. I too read the article and I agree with most of what is said above. However, I would bet my last lira that the players who Mahan has been talking to are the players who have been mainly losing recently. Don't the Europeans also have to attend the same dinners? Don't the European's also like to prepare professionally for a big tournament? Don't they have routine's to follow? I don't believe I've heard Darren Clark complaining or Sergio or Monty (well... ) Also don't seem to remember Jack Nicklaus or Watson or any of those guys ever complaining and I'll bet there was even more pomp and ceremony back then. The point I'm making, is that people look for excuses and complain when they are losing. It was interesting watching some players moaning about the setup at the PGA, funnily enough, they were the same guys who were shooting 77s.
  4. The man is bad taste personified. I bet the place would be dripping with 'Trump Tartan' with 20 foot bronze busts of the Trump adorning the hotel. I mean have you seen his clothing line?
  5. Round the green try focusing on keeping your hands ahead of the ball through impact. This should ensure a crisp contact and it's critical to accelerate through the shot and not quit on it.
  6. I was going to say the same thing. I used to occasionally shank my wedges and my pro told me it was because I was shifting my weight onto my toes slightly during the downswing. I find if I stand slightly wider and concentrate on maintaining even balance front to back I'm ok. Could also be due to poor shoulder rotation
  7. Happens to everyone - this was mine on Saturday, par 5 about 490 with sharp dog leg right at about 220. 1 - Perfect hybrid about 200 just before the dog leg 2 - Hit what I thought was a very good 7 iron cutting the corner 3 & 4 - Couldn't find the damned ball, went back and played 4, foolishly tried to hit 3 wood into the green, pulled it left and short 5 - wedge into front bunker 6 - thinned it into opposite bunker 7 - onto green 8 & 9 2 putts. Bad course management by me, why I didn't stick with the original 7 iron I'll never know.
  8. Srixon ad333 is a very good quality ball at a reasonable price. I would say it's on a par performance wise with the NXT tour.
  9. Thanks for all the thoughts. I have to admit I do really like my Mizuno's and the thought of replacing them hadn't even crossed my mind until it was suggested by my friend. I think I just need to put the hours in hitting a fade especially with my approach shots. When I try this on the range currently I either hit a shank or pull it way left.
  10. Hi Guys, I'm considering whether or not I need to change my irons and would appreciate any guidance. Let me explain. At the back end of last season I took a few lessons and made some changes to my swing. I basically improved my shoulder turn and flattened my swing plane slightly. The result of this is that I have gone from someone who always had a slight fade (and occasional large slice ) to a draw. I am striking the ball much cleaner, but my problem now is that I am drawing the ball too much. I can't hit the ball straight and I certainly can't hit a fade. Even with my wedges I still draw the ball. Very difficult in right to left wind and i'm also struggling to land the ball softly on greens. A friend of mine suggested that I need to change my irons - I currently use Mizuno MX-23 which are game improvers with a medium offset. Anyone have any thoughts - suggestion for which irons I should consider? Thanks, Lee
  11. Ian Poulter - more famous for hit clothes than for his ability. Plus, he has his own head as his driver head cover.
  12. From what I've seen today it looks as though they've had plenty of rain. Should mean that it plays very long, so whoever wins will have to be a big hitter. That probably rules Donald out for me. My money would be on Scott or Mickelson (excluding Tiger...)
  13. Mizuno for me - but I'm currently considering a new set, maybe some Callaway x-20 tour
  14. Hi, I have Cleveland Halo 3 iron and I hit it higher, longer and much more consistently than my 3 iron. Soon to get the matching 4i if I can find one on eBay. Lee
