  1. Here is a handy list of terms used with golf clubs. Copy and paste to address bar then take out any spaces that may show up. (On my system, there is a space in the word "ter ms" that has to be eliminated.) http://www.golf-components.com/golf-club-irons-ter ms.html
  2. I think this video is like the "Better than most" putt that Woods made. Everyone has seen it but you can't find a copy of it online anywhere.
  3. Oh heavens, I would never do that. I'm a huge Tiger fan. What I cast doubt on is the reporting.
  4. Not to doubt Tiger's ability but the weight difference of 2 grams would translate to 0.07 ounces, not 0.7. Even I could tell a difference of 0.7 ounces, and I doubt seriously that Tiger can tell 0.07 ounce difference. I'm not saying it would be impossible, but..... Remember that "swing weight" isn't the total weight of the club, but the distribution of the weight. A wedge may weigh 50 ~ 75 grams more than a 3 iron from the same set, and they will both have the same swing weight. Just so you know, a dime weight about 2.2 grams, a dollar bill about one gram.
  5. I agree and the problem has existed for years although it seems to be getting worse. One has to write it off as just an idiot wanting to be noticed, and I do equate them to the MTV or World Wrestling Federation mentality.
  6. You might want to check that. According to Titleist, they ARE conforming. They make three different balls, the normal Pro V, X-outs, and Practice. They claim that all three are conforming. Some tournaments will not allow X-outs but that may be more in the interest of pro shop sales than any worry about "conformity".
  7. Yes, like play another 18.
  8. One good shot with any wedge and a brand new Pro V1 will have "cosmetic defects"...and that's puting it mildly. I did find it interesting that the X-outs and Practice balls were both conforming.
  9. As you can see from my sig, I like hitting woods too. What I use depends on the course conditions. When things dry up in mid~late summer, I'll pull the 10 and 14 wood and put in my 6 & 8 irons. I might also substitute a 2 and 4 iron for my 5 & 7 woods. On my home course, there isn't much need to work the ball one way or the other but you need to control your distance.
  10. I'm doing research on the gullibility of people and how easily they are distracted by the most trivial matters in the media. I get a lot of insight from TGC's Big Break show and it's fans also. "Reality" TV at it's best. LMAO
  11. I would rather play with a JR golfer than behind a group of them.
  12. GIR. You could one putt for a 10 on every hole but GIR gives you a shot at a birdie and relatively easy chance for par.
  13. No, actually it's not. It wouldn't matter if he came from an igloo somewhere above the artic circle, VJ is black.
  14. Since you don't use all clubs equally, compare the ones you use most against the ones you use least and go from there. My advice would be, "if it feels like it might be time to change them, it probably is". I've also heard that, for the mental aspect of the game, regripping clubs is second only to a new set of clubs when it comes to improving score...at least temporarily.
  15. A chip in from any distance, for any score.
