  1. Each club is just as important as the others. Learn to hit them all.
  2. I would tape up your bad-spots for tomorrow. A little moleskin is great. Could be a grip issue. Or it could just be your hands aren't golf-conditioned if you haven't been playing much. They'll callous over with time.
  3. Thanks. Do you happen to remember which thread the picture was in?
  4. Haney has sworn off coaching Tour Pros.
  5. Ken Duke wins at 44! He's no longer that guy that's always in the top 25 but never wins. I still have 19 years to get good enough and win on tour hahaha
  6. Just put them as unlisted if you wish to have them removed from the public-eye. Only people who have a link can see it then.
  7. FootJoy Sport: http://www.footjoy.com/catalog/productview.asp?c=298 adidas adizero Tour or adizero Sport http://taylormadegolf.com/adidasgolf-footwear-men/
  8. He wasn't happy with the club selection on the tee shot. And then it sounded like he didn't believe the yardage from the drop zone. Just venting some frustration haha
  9. I've been Playing Golf for: 6-7 years My current handicap index or average score is: 76-86 My typical ball flight is: Straight or 5-10 yard Fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slice I apologize for the wind noise. Videos:
  10. I hate watching that guy swing a club. Makes me hurt.
  11. Buy a set of Honma clubs and you'll instantly hit like a pro bro.
  12. I think you're SOL on your hopes of a forgiving ball. The "low-spin" balls not slicing or hooking as much is a bit of a myth. With that said, Srixon Q Star would be my choice for that price range.
  13. Honestly, I didn't go back that far. Should have though. That was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
  14. 2007 Tour Stats: GIR: 71% (1st) Fairways hit: 59.83% (152nd) 2006 Tour Stats: GIR: 74.15% (1st) Fairways hit: 60.71% (139th)
  15. Not sure if this is the proper thread to post this question. So please feel free to move it to its proper location. I was thinking about the S&T swing last night and I have a few general curiosities. In the "traditional" (for lack of a better term) school of thought, I've always heard that the weight shift from the back leg to the forward leg was what helped generate a lot of power. I always thought about it in relativity to pitching a baseball. A pitcher winds up and loads up on his back foot before launching forward with all his weight and "whipping" the ball towards the plate. I figured the golf swing was the same. Load up, transition weight towards the target, "whip" the club through. My understanding of the S&T swing though is that the weight goes toward the target on the backswing and then stays there through the downswing. So my questions are: Am I missing a key move in the S&T swing? What is the "power move" in the S&T swing? This site and forum is the first time I've had any exposure to this school of thought and I'm always intrigued by swing theories and thoughts. I appreciate any insight.
  16. Going to pick up a dozen Srixon Z-Stars tomorrow. Dicks has them on sale for $30 (usually $45). Usually a ProV1 guy, but I've played the Srixon Q-star for two rounds and I liked it. So I figured I'd try their premium ball as well.
  17. I think there is a way to use PayPal through the Yahoo Fantasy League to create a pot. And I agree, bragging rights usually isn't enough to keep those who start poorly to continue playing throughout the season.
  18. Looked up Tiger's numbers from the 2010 US Open (under Haney) and the 2013 US Open (under Foley) just for comparison. Also threw in Tour rankings for the year as well. 2010 US Open - Fairways hit: 69.64% GIR: 59.72% 2010 Tour - Fairways hit: 57.21% GIR: 64% (167th) 2013 US Open - Fairways hit: 69.64% GIR: 65.28% 2012 Tour - Fairways hit: 63.93% GIR: 67.58% (32nd) By these numbers, it looks like Tiger is playing better under Foley. Looks like Haney may be talking out of his ass.
  19. Right. I was just referring to the random instructional videos I've come across online.
  20. Some tweets from Hank Haney about Tiger Woods: “For whatever reason, Tiger doesn't prepare for majors as hard as he could” “He plays the course in a rushed way maybe once or twice before the tournament week, then in the tournament week Tiger has gotten into a routine of playing nine-hole practice rounds on some days.” And maybe a little bit of blame cast on Foley for Woods' lack of success. Haney states that Tiger was number 1 on Tour in GIR under him and Butch Harmon. He is currently 39th. I personally don't like Foley because I don't believe he is very good at communicating what he is trying to teach. His speech feels like I'm reading an academic research paper and I often feel like he's trying harder to impress people with his knowledge than help them play better golf. But even I don't think Foley can be to blame for Tiger's recent woes at the Majors. So is Haney correct or should he avoid commenting on Tiger Woods?
  21. Spurs because I'm convinced this is likely Duncan's last year and I'd like to see him go out on top.
  22. Went with Webb Simpson, Hunter Mahan, Cameron Tringale, and Charley Hoffman.
  23. When I say published, I wasn't only referring to Golf Digest and Golf.com. They were simply examples of leading golf publications. There are hundreds of academic and business journals that publish pieces like this. But they always require peer review. I'm not saying he's completely wrong. I'm just saying I'm not going to become a believer until I see multiple sources claiming the same thing.
  24. For me, the tone sheds doubt on the measurements. And you'd have to ask, if he's right, surely he tried to get this published. Maybe he sent it to a major golf publication. But I haven't read anything from Golf Digest or Golf.com, etc. about manufacturers fraudulently claiming lofts. You just accused one of the largest manufacturers in the golf industry of committing fraud because you read an unpublished and biased report that hasn't been reviewed by any peers in the industry. No thanks.
