I realize that Bobby Jones was a great golfer.

  3. I have been playing a Scotty Cameron putter but recently tried a tour Edge T-Balance putter. I find the T-Balance club is very easy to line up and very easy to control speed. Bottom Line I am sinking more puts.
  4. I like corona gorda sized cigars, Avo, partagas, La Gloria cubana, Arturo Fuente, monte cristo or just about any other good cigar... dominicans are my smoke of choice but Hondurans are o.k. as well.
  5. How are things going for you know? I hope that the "s" word thing has resolved itself by know and you are back to playing good golf???? Let us know Dale
  6. Ernie Banks I do not know you but I really like your style Cheers, heres to sharing great time on the fairways and greens. Dale
  7. today I shot 90. I am very dissapointed with the round because of what I feel is inexcusable innapropriate behavior by a group of golfers that should know better. The course today is extremely wet and we followed cart path only rules. My golfing buddy and I used a cart this morning but this is not the point... we followed a group of 5 and all went well on the front 9 (I shot a 40 6 bogies in a row then par, par, birdie) I went to the 10th box feeling really good. It was on the 10th fairway that the problems started... an aged group of 5 caught us on the tee and watched the two of us tee off... I had a perfect drive, my partner was right and in a puddle of water... As I approached my ball a member of the group behind us yelled at the top of his lungs from the Tee Box Hit the F''''kkkng ball already! Well folks I limped in with a 50 on the back and I was very angry .. we encountered several more comments and rude behaviors from the group of aged southern men... (this could have been racially motivated) I am a person of color living in the South.... (we usually do not have any problems) I hope that the outburst had nothing to do with my color and more to do with the offensive person having a bad day... any way I shot 90 with 33 putts on a wet day... I believe that I will sneak out for a quick round tomorrow.
  8. place a tee directly behind your ball on the practice range... concentrate on hitting the tee before the ball. BTW why is taking a divot so important to you? If your reason is trajectory I think that you should learn to take a divot but please make sure that the lie angle of your irons have been adjusted properly for your swing. I would also recommend that you have properly fitted grips and that your grips are in good shape. (have you read Harvey Pennicks little red book?)
  9. is this working for you? I tend to leave too many shots short of the green and then put too much emphasis on my sand wedge.... My goal for tomorrow morning...(sunrise tee time) is to hit one more club from every fairway and to use 3 wood off of the tee if my first driver shot slices.... I wil post my score tomorrow on the what did you shoot today thread...
  10. By any chance are your grips worn? Are you standing a little close to the ball? Could be because of the grips if you are. Good Luck! also were you hitting from the wet grass or mats? could be the ground conditions causing the shanks
  11. I am a huge fan of KZG Irons. The evolution series forged irons might fit your requirements. Cavity backs for the long irons and blades for the short irons. KZG equipment is affordable and must be fitted for you by an authorized fitter. Take a look at http://www.kzgolf.com/ * Progresses from Mid-Size Cavity to Blade * Classic Appearance, Modern Performance * The Perfect Blended Set The Forged Evolution irons give each head its own unique design because a players needs vary from club-to-club. With a perimeter weighted cavity-back in the 2-iron; the emphasis gradually shifts from game-improvement to playability and control in the mid irons, ending with an exquisite muscleback blade wedge. It is the perfect progressive set with each iron 10% different from each adjoining iron. Most manufacturers only vary their blended sets by only 3 club increments.
  12. I have one eagle.... and my experience is similar to yours. Dog Leg left par 5 I nuked a 3 wood and cut the corner. I hit a 5 Iron and pulled it left of the green pin high on the fringe. 7 Iron bump and run and bingo the ball tracked perfectly and dropped... Momentum took over I took Par, Birdie par for the next 3 holes. I love this game... Why though do I continue to rush the down swing so often?
  13. I like the passion that Tommy 2gloves gives to the game. I like the way that the young man handled himself on both of the Big Breaks. I hope that the guy does well. BTW I met Albert Crews from Big Break on one of our local courses a few weeks ago and played 9 holes with the man. Albert hit every fairway... his short drives were a mere 300 yds and when he missed a green he never left himself more than a tap in for par... It was a wonderful experience watching him play golf.

  15. I am older 48 weigh 145 and use a conventional grip carry the ball 250+. I live and play golf in Northern Louisiana and depending on the time of year we definately have a humidity problem (we have to use different types of balls based on our weather) any how I measure my drives by the distance of the second shot... Seems simple but many folks forget that if we are left with 110 yards on a 337 yard par 4 we only hit our driver 227 yards with roll. hmm! A guy hitting 300 yard drives all of the time should wear out wedges fairly often right?
