  1. By paying greens fees you are accepting all risks associated with the game of golf, including but not limited to, being hit by a golf ball. How can anyone prove that the golfer that hit the ball intended to hit the person? No intent. The person being hit by the ball has put his/her self in a position where being hit by a ball is liable to happen. You are going to charge assault with a deadly weapon....with what, a golf ball?
  2. L . O . L . No, you cannot be sued if you hit someone with your ball.
  3. I am going to try the reds, I demo'd the golds and really didn't like them, nothing felt solid. I do like the look of mizunos, ill probably be demoing the 57's or 60's soon, as well as CG REDS.
  4. I was wondering if there are any clubs out there that feel great when you hit the ball cleanly, but aren't as punishing as blades. Are the MP-57's like this? Or am I mistaken? I want to lower my handicap and my current irons just aren't cutting it anymore. I want a set that feels good on flush hits, but lets me know when I screw up as well, but still advances the ball.
  5. I don't think anybody really watches the dodgers anymore.
  6. You're 16, spend money on what you want, you aren't supposed to know any better. 4 years from now are you going to miss the $500-$1000 that you spent on something you enjoy doing? And where can you gamble at 16?
  7. What bothers me, which im kind of the same thing, is when I'm in the fairway, out about 300-330 yards from the tee, and the group behind ours is waiting to tee off, and we've seen their tee shots go about 240-250. It bothers me that they wait to hit when there's no chance in hell they're going to catch us. If they hit me on the fly from where I'm standing then bravo to them, go get your PGA card. But my opinion on this matter is to wait, I don't like when I'm putting and I hear a ball hit 10 yards from the green, makes everyone feel rushed subconciously and that leads to worse scores. Might as well wait 2-3 minutes for the group to clear the green.
  8. Edinburgh in Minnesota.
  9. That's what everyone always says. Even on a full swing I don't get a whole lot of spin, even when I hit it crisply. On short pitch shots it's really hard to hit down on it and not hit it over the green.
  10. Using a Pro-v1 and a new 54 vokey spin milled, I cannot get a shot to check up around the green to save my life. Any tips? I don't want to suck it back, but just to stop and drop it like Phil. (Obviously not as good, but you get the picture)
  11. I didn't realize there was a place above first.
  12. How are you a 13 handicap then... And yes, some holes on certain courses just don't set up for me, and I can never make par.
  13. On average I'm in the upper 200's, lower 300's. If I don't really catch it, its about 270-290, but if I catch it flush the farthest I've gotten is ~330. (That's my farthest ever) But, on AVERAGE, I'd say 290-300. On estimation alone...I'd guess my carry at 250-270? I don't really know..I usually don't have a problem carrying obstacles in the 250 yard range. Now if I could just improve my shortgame and putting.....
  14. Spoken like a true amateur
  15. Where are you at? It's only 18 here in the heartland.
  16. My thoughts as well, when I played for school I didn't like to talk to the kids from other schools in my group. But when it's just a fun weekend I like #2, why take it so seriously when theres nothing on the line except pride.
  17. Just use another site like Bodog or Absolute, they allow you to use credit cards. Or, better yet, don't play on the internet and get to a card room.
  18. I open the face and my stance alot and basically flop it...works every time for me..
  19. If we were Negreanu is taking it.
  20. I have a 54 vokey spin milled oil can, and I can't seem to get a substantial check-up with it...would you offer any advice?
  21. So use a 3-Iron and lean one 250. I'd get wedges, what feels better, coming in to the clubhouse with a 92 or an 82? Pick up a second hand driver...they sell Launcher 400's for like $40 now, in great shape...anything with a stiff shaft is good enough, youy don't need all the fancy stuff at a 14 hdcp. A good set of wedges, and a good putter is your best bet on making that handicap get lower.
  22. I'd say that Jack didn't have tougher competition, I think it's the opposite, the field now is much tougher than it was back then, but Tiger is so good that he makes it look like the field is cake. I think a couple of the big names would give Jack a run for his money nowadays.
  23. When my dad bought his Ping Zing Black Dot about 10 years ago, his second hand set included 2-SW all matching clubs...
  24. I picked up the Anser 4 and I really like it...seems to get the ball rolling nice.
  25. When I fixed my fade/slice...I really concentrated on coming from the inside until I started to straighten it out. After that I started using a bigger shoulder turn, that increased distance (By about 30 yards) and ironically, causes me to hit the ball straighter too. Seems like if you swing too slow/easy there is too much to think about. Get comfortable from the inside, then move a little farther from the ball than you are used to, use a shoulder turn, grip it and rip it. That's what I did...and it worked for me, I started standing uncomfortably far from the ball, so the toe was on the ball.
