Holy cow, i had to watch the replays of phil to believe it. I left after he shot a 30 on the front amazed thinking he was going to make a run at it. Went out to the course for a quick 9, came back and he was back to nine under...He was 10 under when i left. Phil could have easily had this or atleast been in the playoff holes.

Holy cow how'd the ball represented by the red line take such straight pathes and such rectangular cuts! Jokes aside. Seems like you could be ballooning with the bites? If its not costing much distance and its dropping very soft that could be good.

I mostly ride so these are riding costs Home: Cinder Ridge Weekday 42 Twilight 30 Weekend 52 Other: Nettle Creek Weekday 42 Twilight 36 Weekend 52 Other: High Point, 9 hole course super cheap and really nice Weekday 31 Twilight 25(weekday) 30(weekend) Weekend 37 Grundy County, Illinois about an hour south of chicago not too shabby

Of course, but height is still a good indication. If youre OVER 6'0 a 33 inch will likely be very uncomfortable, unless you have a very bent over stance which is possible.

Woah woah, a course THAT BAD is $21 TO WALK!? If i go twilight at my course its only 20, and its $42 for 18 riding and $30 for twilight riding(as many as holes as you can get in starting at like 4 until 8ish). The course is beautiful. Very well manacured, beautiful placement. Its one of the best looking courses in my area and its pretty cheap. I'd say its a god send if youre playing 40 riding at a course like that! Also they recently aerated, and the greens were difficult(if you caught a partially filled hole youd take a bounce and lose speed), but its fine now.

Also, I'm like 5'9 and ive got a 33 inch and thats perfect for me. So i'd rule that out unless you like to be bent really far over.

Taking a shot in the dark, but your clubs may just be too stiff for you? I'm not sure if anyone said this, but if you arent swinging fast enough for a stiff shaft, but youre using them it will bring down your distance.

I am looking for a LOW launch driver
Cody replied to TomDonS's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I may be mistaken here but other than the degree of the driver head, won't the shaft matter way more than anything else? The ball you play also effects the launch angle. In the golf digest thing when they used the robot there was as much as a 2* difference in the balls. -
Golf Ball Hot List......... Ya, Right $%#+*
Cody replied to whit53's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm in a transition and if i could afford it, i would play the callaway tour-ix. I'm switching to the diablo right now but trying as many balls as possible. Right now I've been playing mojo's and bridgestone e5+ but i just haven't changed my sig. As far as the blind test goes, they may not have let the golfers touch the ball. They may have looked at the number, dropped it on the ground and said swing. Theres a lot of factors that come into play, but once again its just ratings, go by your own. -
I have a pair of callaways that i love. I tried on nikes, adidas, footjoy, etc. but the callaways were the best. I've got a very wide foot, so most shoes i need a wide, but the wides were TOO wide. The normal callaway was perfect.

Everyone needs to take a peek at the golf digest 2009 ball chart. It gives a chart of driver spin and launch angle, and wedge spin and launch angle. It seems to be the best way to decide what ball you want. Big bertha diablo has the highest launch angle and the least driver spin. That would probably be ideal. I would suggest more but i seem to have misplaced my golf digest magazine and cant find the chart online... Also i believe it was the nike one vapor that claims it reduces side spin on the driver and golf digest said "there may be some truth to it".

I just got golf digest and all the tests were blind, so i guess its the real deal. EXCEPT they get 5 in demand for ever ball, which is a little ridiculous. Also, I've been using the chart in golf digest for driver spin and wedge spin to decide what ball to use. -
could you post some pictures so we could take a looksie?

Callaway Golf HX Hot Bite Sale
Cody replied to nathan's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm going to have to hit up walmart and buy all of them if they have any! -
My golf coach made us use it and i didn't feel it helped. I normally dont use it unless my putting is really really falling apart.

how do "you" define high, low, mid handicap golfers?
Cody replied to clearwaterms's topic in Golf Talk
high: 25+ mid: 24-11 low: 10-scratch crazy:anything + It really depends for a "good" golfer. The other day i was considered "good" as everyone played poorly. I would say anyone who shoots in the 80's is a "good" golfer. -
I also feel your pain. My rounds have been similiar to yours but one day it was around 65 i got out. Today i woke up to 3 inches of snow, but its since melted.

A little off topic, but almost any golf company has aerospace engineers on staff to make their clubs as aerodynamic as possible. I was talking to a professor at purdue and he knew one of the designers at callaway who used to be a professor at purdue and was one of the most knowledgeable guys he's ever met. Back on topic. Rapture is a great club. It's been known for being more forgiving than long i believe. I hit that longer than my current driver(borrowed one for a couple weeks), so who knows. Good luck!
-
That's pretty weird that they got bent that much. They probably started at 2 and then the way you were hitting them slowly caused them to bend more and more. Preeeety peculiar, but atleast they are fixed now!
-
I guess that would be considered choking down, but if it's what you do, it's what you do. Anthony Kim has all his clubs fitted but he chokes down on all of them because thats how he grew up playing. It's no big deal. Personally, I only choke down for distance. The palm of my hand is probably 1/4" away from the butt of the club.

True, but since this is his brother he should be more understanding about replacing it becuase he has wronged his sibling. If i were to break something of a family members i would be compelled to replace it. I'd say if his guilty conscious doesn't get the best of him, or he just refuses to replace it, just let him know that you'll remember this and get him back.

Well right now the weather is limiting me more than money, but normally i play with my retired grandpa who has more money than he knows what to do with. My dad is very fortunate to have a great job so he normally doesnt have a problem with a golf budget(he just bought mp-52's). Its normally just enough time after work or a good sunny day to go out.
-
Oh man i thought that was the profile on the driver.... That could very well affect ball flight, but it also might not. I have an old tommy armour driver that is riddled with dents. It hits the ball perfect, i used it before i had my current driver and i probably hit that better until a few weeks ago

Personlly have 2 nickents and i love them, but as for the cobra and titleist. Cobra baffler has been gold rated like 3 years in a row and I'd imagine they earned it. The G10 hybrid is pretty nice too, my grandfather has one and i hit it before i got him, and its smooth as can be.

My normal foursome is all family so we normally discuss what we're hitting on par 3's, or sometimes what the other thinks for certain shots. It's just casual rounds.
