Yep, originally born and raised on Oahu and go back every year! Yes, that 5/$20 is what every vendor at the swap meet is selling their t-shirts at. And it is the heavier shirts....I haven't seen the really cheapy, thin ones in a while... Have clubs will travel!!

Ooohhh....*drooling* Did you take that photo.....damn gorgeous shot! I cannot wait to go to Hawaii! The other couple is coming over next monday so that we can finalize our Maui trip. Hubby wants to take the Hawaii Super[barf]ferry over so that we can bring the car rental over. Told him go ahead, I'm taking a plane because I get major seasick!

Thanks Jay-Bird! Yep, I travel with my clubs. I have a hard case to put my golf bag into. We have never locked our golf cases and they are always inspected at the airport....they do leave a note in the case that the golf case has been inspected. I have purposely left a ziplock bag with a specific amount of loose change in my golf bag to see if any goes missing.....haven't had any money stolen out of my bag. For this trip, we are planning an overnight stay on Maui for golfing and touring. Not sure what course we want to golf at....I guess it depends where we will end up staying and if the hotel has complimentary golf rounds for its guests. I also want to make a trip to the Haleakala as well as the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm. Enjoy your stay in Hawaii....the weather is absolutely perfect for golfing! And bring a camera with you! If I think of anymore tips, I'll post them......I am definitely posting my travel experiences onto my trip blog.

We had the women's comp this past weekend. Although I didn't shoot well, I won the 'B' flight....net tournament. I had a two day net score of 147.

Still true today....met my husband when he was stationed at Schofield Barracks....his home course was Leilehua but he played at all military golf courses on Oahu. My dad and my uncle are both retired DOD (Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard) and my dad used to golf.....my uncle may still golf....don't know yet....have to talk to my aunt. If he's in still good enough health, I will ask him if he can get us tee times for Leilehua and Barber's Point for this trip. He got us in for rounds at Leilehua and Barber's Pt couple years ago....

Will do! Our daughter's wedding is at the Turtle Bay Resort. Another golfing couple is also coming along to Hawaii as they have never been to Hawaii. I was just going over the tee times with them for the TBR. Seems that the Sept 2nd twilight fees are more expensive than the twilight fees on Sept 4th...$190/110 respectively. Also, for Sept 2nd, the fees for 1:48pm were $150 and at 2:15pm they were $110. I checked these fees on their website. We're gonna wait till we get there to look up available tee times/prices etc at TBR as well as the different courses throughout the island. We still have to go over the planning for our Maui trip. I really would like the op to golf on Maui!

My (Hawaii) golf photos are here. Hope to add more after my Hawaii trip!

Hmmm...not too familiar with courses in the Honolulu area....Ko'olau is in Kaneohe and billed as the toughest course in the USA. I'm also thinking Luana Hills in Kailua. I golfed there last Sept....really tight, narrow fairways. Beautiful course with the front 9 on a hill and the back 9 in a rainforest valley. I haven't golfed here but both Olomana Golf links in Waimanalo and Hawaii Kai Golf courses are a short drive from Waikiki. Muni courses include Ala Wai just outside of Waikiki and Pali in Kaneohe. Leeward courses I've golfed at: Coral Creek, Waikele, Barbers Point, Leilehua. Leaving for Oahu myself in 3 weeks....hope to do alot more golfing and will spend some time on Maui as well to golf! Have fun in Hawaii!

I too mark with a Sharpie when I get them and put them back in their box......
-
The course where hubby and I are members at is 4 miles from our home and it takes 6 minutes to drive there!
-
Thanks for the congrats! Gonna be in Hawaii for 3 weeks and hope to get in as much golfing as I possibly can!! Will definitely post photos on My Hawaii Travels blog. Man, I can't wait! I so need a vacay....all this wedding planning is driving me nuts, although at this point its pretty much settled....then after this trip its on to help my oldest DD plan her wedding set for August '09! ks8829, how'd you like playing Kapalua Plantation course?

Getting ready for my annual Hawaii trip! These past few months have been busy with preparing for my youngest daughter's wedding at the Turtle Bay Resort on of the North Shore of Oahu. I still need to finalize many more details for this wedding not to mention the trip itself. I plan to also travel to Maui to do some golfing and getting as much photography in to add to my travel blog as well as my Hawaii eCards postcards site. So looking forward to the Haleakala, golfing, Lavender and mainly "hanging out" on Maui. And hubby and I will be traveling with golfing friends who have never traveled to Hawaii! It will be a treat to show them around and to have them experience the culture and beauty of our 50th state! Some of the courses I hope we can golf at: Coral Creek, Waikele, Turtle Bay Resort, Luana Hills, Ko'olau, Waimanalo, Hawaii Kai, Ka'anapali. Here's a photo of Luana Hills that I took last year. I won two free rounds to golf here care of Hawaii.com!

Ditto, that and Plaid bermudas, skimmers, capris and pedal pushers.

I read this post early this morning and decided to try out my swing with imaginary gloves under my armpits. I used this method while playing in my league this afternoon and, boy oh boy, not only did I consistently make good contact with my ball, I hit it straight!! No more fade....woo hoo!! Thanks for the great tip!!
-
Oh my!
-
I love watching the LPGA tour! I love to watch the different swing styles, equipment and, of course, FASHIONS!!!! The clothes and shoes.....ooh-la-la! I always watch their swings....one day I asked my husband how the heck those little Korean women can hit so far. He said its all in their swing technique....I have a lot of respect for that! Being only 5'2" myself, I work endlessly on my own swing technique. The hugs and kisses don't bother me one bit! When golfing with good friends (male or female) I usually kiss at the end of the round. Other than that, I high-5 or shake hands.
-
I've gone to putting about 7-8 purple flowers all over my ball. That way you can see it without having to bend down to pick it up and look at it!
-
Everytime I heard her [try] to say it I was like, C'mon, Magee can get it right, why can't you?! I thought for sure that Sophie was going to win. But am very happy for Kim that she won!
-
I collect ball markers from every course I've visited (that and shirts). One that I use all the time was bought on eBay....a magnetic Minnie Mouse. Once I left her on the green and offered a reward to anyone who found her. One of the workers found her!

Niiiiice! I especially love this outfit. I told the hubby that I think that for one day, that our members weekend should dress like this...the guys that is.....and us women would wear the long skirts, just for the heck of it!
