  2. Thanks for the feedback. Few of my friends and I all use Swing X Swing app to keep score on all our rounds. We use that handicap to play against each other. Non of us are members at a club or play in tournaments so it is of little consequence. Nice to know that Swing x Swing may be close. If I understand correctly I cant keep a regular handicap because 75% of my rounds are solo. My favorite golf is walking 9 by myself in the evening.
  3. Good conversation. I have never kept an official handicap. Question how much does an official handicap differ from the handicap in Swing X Swing or Game Golf? I am not intending to use it universally, I was just wondering if the two would be close. Thanks,
  4. I know he was put on the clock. However, he was not penalized, so he is still playing within the rules. It is interesting that Day and Spieth are some of this best players in the world but are also some of the most deliberate. Also, I am not a proponents of slow play in recreational golf, but that is a different subject.
  5. As long as he is playing within the rules I'm fine with it. I have no problem if they want to adopt a shot clock but they haven't yet so as long as he is within the rules I'm cool. As a fan I thought the Masters was great entertainment again this year.
  6. That clears it up. Thanks @Lilfrier I appreciate it.
  7. Love GameGolf. it is not in the way during the round and yet produces rich data to analyze later. It looks like I will be ordering a new set of irons this weekend. Going from 16-18 year old pings to a new GI iron I am expecting it to change my distances quite a bit. (just because what they call a 6 iron now used to be a 5 iron) Question: Will reassigning my tags to the new clubs automatically take care of the data from my old clubs. When I look at the data for a particular club all that will be useful is the data from the new clubs not my old Pings. Thanks,
  8. Do we have the price and availability information on these grips yet? I am ordering a new set of clubs and would love to consider these grips with the GG sensor built in. thanks,
  9. I will put in a plug for the Clicgear 3.5+ This is my 2nd year with this cart and I have nothing but good to say about it. For me it has made walking so much more enjoyable. Just having a cup holder and a place to keep my phone is a plus. When making your decision look over clicgears website. They have any accessory you can think of.
  10. Looking to buy new irons this spring. My 15+ year old Ping Blade i3 set is more than due for a replacement. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good place to get fit in Columbus. Thinking of the Golf Galaxy in Easton but that is not based on any experience. Thanks in advance for your advice.
  11. This is anecdotal because I only played one round with my ne Game Golf, but I found it to be painfully accurate in its reporting on my game. Also, the set-up process was easy and totally self explanatory. I am excited to get more rounds so I have enough data to be useful.
  12. I've said it before... I wonder why our sport isn't growing. Somebody suggest a group of players having fun under simplified rules and the chorus of "that aint golf", "That's cheating" and "get off my lawn" starts. Just look at post here. someone will present a scenario and it will take two pages of post for the rules gurus to hash through which point which rule applies and why. Almost all sports have people playing by recreational rules. Our local rec hockey league plays with no checking, shortened periods and modified overtime rules. Nobody is telling them that they are cheating or that they are not playing hockey.
  13. Wow! Are there actually courses that list playing time as 4:30? I know it happens, but to set 4:30 as par....
  14. I saw the 96% claimed also, but now it is back to 72%. Odd. I hovered over it for awhile trying to decide. For that price it is worth trying. Got mine on the way.
  15. I just saw that Game Golf is 139 for Prime Members. Lightning Deal 31% claimed. You are welcome,
