1. Taylormade Tour Preferred MC, 4-W. KBS Tour S. First round with them will be this afternoon...
2. Where is Dan?! Over 3 weeks with no updates...
3. Ping S59 6 iron ($10) Taylormade tour preferred MB 6 iron ($10) Both clubs ex-demos. To bring me back down to earth when I think I'm striking the ball well!
4. Oooh, that's nice. Is that yours, Bogeyman? Hey if you remove it and putt bad, then you have an excuse because the weighting in the head is off
5. Definitely. Will have a few lessons to get some direction, then hopefully the 5th 'S' will follow...
6. If only the aim was to colour in the whole face!
7. Thought that I had been striking the ball pretty well. Stuck on some contact paper, and hit 25-30 balls. I think I'll get a few more lessons before I buy a new set of clubs... Good motivation to practise some more!
8. A bit of a late reply, but nope, never got around to it. I think that before I start customising my putter, I need to learn how to use it, ha ha.
9. By the way, I really do think that the concept of 'easy golf' will help my game. Thanks again!
10. Have just finished the novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very hard to put down! Looking forward to the next book in the series?! Thanks again, Gary.
11. Ha ha, think you may be thinking of something else. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/171421235003?nav=SEARCH Looks pretty generic?
12. I'm also looking at buying a rangefinder, and came across the Sureshot Laser Pin Loc 1000 for $199AUD. Does anyone have this model? Significantly cheaper than Bushnell etc.
13. I think that if the whole head was the same colour, it may look better...
14. Hi, I have recently purchased a Ping Karsten TR putter (B60), and I am wondering if anyone here has removed the white paint from the face of the putter. While I like the look of the putter as it is, I am considering using some acetone to remove it. Has anyone done this?
15. They are my second set. My first set were more forgiving, but I think the i3s are still good for a high handicap. They have a fair bit of perimeter weighting and, despite the name, are definitely not blades.
16. I have been using Ping i3 blades for over a year now, and I think they're great clubs. I started playing golf two years ago, and I find them forgiving enough for my inconsistent swing. I think they're great looking clubs too. I used a friend's irons last week that had quite a bit of offset, and I found that I was hitting quite a pronounced draw -so if you're used to clubs with a lot of offset, you may take some time to adjust to them. Try to have a hit with them before you purchase, if you can.
17. The funniest thing I've heard all day!
Best to wear cotton shorts
18. Love my 3i. Would like to try a 2i. I have a 4h, but hit the 3i and 4i much better.
19. I grew up writing with my left hand, and favoured my left foot when playing football. I play squash and tennis using my left hand, but with golf and cricket I have always taken a right-handed stance. I was, however, going through some old photos a few months ago, and there were some photos of me at two or three years old, putting left handed with a toy putter...
20. Thanks for the replies. That backbone looks good, but I'll probably just wrap them well and stick a long broom handle in there to protect them.
21. Thanks for the reply. A hard case would definitely protect the clubs, but they are very expensive where I live -and would cost more than I paid for my irons! I have just won an online auction for a padded travel cover. $25NZD. I'll pack them well and hopefully they will be fine.
22. Hi all. I will be moving to another country to live at the end of next month, and I am looking into how I am going to transport my golf clubs. I have searched through old posts, and it seems that soft travel bags are fine -as long as the clubs are wrapped well, and something is used to prevent the driver from taking the weight of all the clubs when it is dropped on its head... Do these soft bags cover your own cart/stand bag, or are they intended to only carry the clubs? I am hoping that I can buy something that I can zip over my stand bag, that will offer protection during international travel. Thanks in advance.
23. 43-46 for a net 64. First time I have broken 90!
24. Play him... and report back to us!
25. I had never actually clicked on the 10,000 Hours section, until just now! I've got a bit of catch up reading to do!
