  1. I guess I am too. I would have fell out of my chair laughing if the question had been asked. Of course I'm a TW hater. ;)
  2. I've never been a Tiger fan, but one thing I agree with concerning Tiger.........he truly moves the needle. In more ways than one.
  3. That's normally the way its done where ever I have played. Sometimes I got a free pass when taking a nephew just to ride along at my private club.
  4. True. With Daly, you know what he is. Some like that, some don't. Phil has always played the part as Mr. Good guy. But gambling is a big turn off for some and this will dim their view of him. Others......not so much.
  5. Simply getting old and has a body more broken down than the average 39 year old. And with all the swing changes.......he is confused.
  6. I'm fine with NXT Tour balls. But when I receive Pro V1's as a b'day or Christmas present, I don't turn them down.
  7. Agree 100%. Technology has certainly helped me. Twenty years ago or so, I was hitting a persimmon headed driver or just getting into hitting a small headed metal driver. Even though I was younger and stronger(60 now), I couldn't hit the driver any further than I do today. If anything, I hit it further today. I have a real light shaft and it works well for me plus I have one of those long Tom Watson type swings and that has helped in keeping my flexibility. I can tell I'm shorter with my irons though.
  8. My club had 500 members in 1998-99, today 165. Public courses haven't picked up new players as they are too struggling around here. Not an indicator of golf as a whole, but the sport has certainly declined in my backyard.
  9. Back in the day when I kept a real HC, I entered them all. I'm retired now and my group pretty much plays at a fast pace so we have gimmes and pick up if out of a hole. It would be hard to keep a true HC the way we play. What I show on my bio is just an estimate.
  10. Did something I have never done before today, had 18 straight pars for a 72. But lost money as its a birdie game in our team bets. Missed all my reasonable birdie putts, but made a couple of good par savings putts. The ball is really flying in this hot weather.
  11. Is that a green? They looked like crap on tv but couldn't tell they were this bad. Looks like a bad bad muni.
  12. Correct. But we may actually see a true rivalry develop with these two. Would be good for the game with Tiger fading from the picture.
  13. Exciting final 9 holes overall, but sad to see anyone 3 putt from 12 feet to lose. DJ will have a tough time getting over this one. Probably won't.
  14. That was some ugly golf from that 3some.
  15. People watch just like they did when Ali was on the decline. No matter whether you love him or hate him, he still draws the eyeballs.
  16. I wonder how long he will keep trying if he shows little or no improvement?
  17. I was B-Fit for Bridgestone Tour B330-RX golf balls. Fowler -14 Rose -14 Stenson -14
  18. Two holes......two bogeys.
  19. Thanks. Didn't hit the ball as well today and shot 75. Lucky to have shot that as today seemed like work, yesterday was easy. Funny how golf can be that way. I agree on moving up when you get into your 60's. Just makes golf more fun and speeds up play. No downside I can see. Let's face it, when you reach our age its all downhill from here. Maximize the enjoyment of the game while we can.
  20. I play there because the entire group of guys I play with(12+ guys) all play from there. Makes play go much faster and no reason to put myself at a disadvantage on our bets. Plus its all about having fun at this point. Not much fun hitting long irons and woods into par fours.
  21. I'm retired and my group plays early during the week. I usually get there early enough to ride to the 9th tee and play the hole in as my warm up. Lot's of courses wouldn't allow you to do that but I've been a member forever and our rules are pretty relaxed. Obviously I wouldn't do that if a group was coming up to play the hole. Lot's of days I simply putt a few and do some stretching as my warm up.
  22. One of my best rounds in a long long time today. Shot a three under 69. Hit 15 GIR which may be my best stat ever. And only had 1 bogey due to a 3 putt. Missed a 3 footer. If I had managed to make that putt, would have been my first bogey free round ever. Considering I have been playing golf for 40+ years, would have been nice to get that done. I did have a 45 yard hole out on a par 5 for eagle, so that helped the score. I played from the seniors tees, but I'm almost 61 so I guess I deserve to. ;) Fifty five is the rule at my club. Back to reality tomorrow.
  23. I'm not sure what to make of Phil. There are times when I see the phony side of him, but then you read the big tipping articles like this one and others. I've followed him at tournaments and he has seemed nice. Perhaps he is just human like most of us with pluses and minuses.
  24. When I hit my intended shot. I once hit a very thin iron shot to a par 3 that rolled right into the cup. I smiled but didn't really appreciate my hole in one because I hit the shot so poorly. But I still count it. ;)
